About the role
As General Counsel and Company Secretary, you will play a pivotal role in guiding decisions that align with our mission and values, ensuring that SCUK operates with integrity, transparency and strong governance. You will lead our Legal, Enterprise Risk and Company Secretariat functions, oversee internal audit performance, and act as a trusted adviser to the CEO, Executive Leadership Team and Board. You will integrate legal, governance and risk-thinking into organisational decision-making, enabling innovation and impact while ensuring compliance and safeguarding the organisation's reputation and obligations.
In this role, you will:
• Provide strategic legal, regulatory and governance advice to the Board, CEO and senior leaders, ensuring decisions are informed, risk-aware and aligned with our organisational priorities.
• Lead and motivate the Legal, Enterprise Risk and Company Secretariat teams, setting strategic direction and fostering a high-performing, inclusive, values- and impact-driven culture.
• Serve as Company Secretary, ensuring robust governance, effective Board and Committee management, and compliance with company law, Charity Commission requirements and the Charity Governance Code.
• Oversee SCUK's enterprise risk management and internal audit functions, acting as Executive Sponsor for Global Assurance and ensuring effective risk, audit and compliance frameworks are in place.
• Support organisational transformation and innovation, including new financial models, subsidiaries, and partnerships, while ensuring SCUK remains compliant, ethical and child-rights focused.
About you
You'll be an English qualified lawyer with broad experience across a range of areas, including some or all of charity and fundraising laws, corporate governance, commercial contracts, intellectual property, IT and corporate law.
Ideally, you'll bring experience in an in-house legal role (including in a charity context) with some experience of working in international contexts.
To be successful, it is important that you have:
• Senior experience in a challenging role, including managing a team and working with senior executives and trustees.
• Good understanding of the context in which Save the Children works. Experience and understanding of human rights law, child-rights based law and/or laws relating to sexual offences is desirable but not essential.
• Strong strategic, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complexity, influence at senior levels and provide clear, solution-focused advice.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to explain complex legal issues in accessible ways and negotiate effectively.
• A high level of integrity, ethical judgement and commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion, and to fostering a culture of accountability and learning.

Purpose of Post: The Events Coordinator will help to plan, promote and deliver a diverse programme of online and in-person events that reflect the organisation’s mission to support, empower and amplify the voices of people with lived experience of mental illness. These will include outreach sessions, campaigning events, open forums, creative workshops, community engagement activities, fundraising events, awareness days and partnership events.

Planning and Coordination
- Develop and maintain an annual events calendar covering outreach, campaigns, creative sessions, open forums, workshops and fundraising (both online and in-person).
- Lead on the end-to-end planning of online and in-person events including aims, audience, format, accessibility needs, timelines, budgets, venues, equipment and staffing.
- Prepare event plans, schedules, risk assessments and checklists to ensure smooth delivery.
- Liaise with venues, suppliers and partners to negotiate costs (ensuring value for money), confirm bookings and arrange logistics.
Promotion and Communications
- Produce accessible event information and promotional materials, working with colleagues to ensure inclusive language, imagery and formats.

- Maintain event booking systems (e.g. Eventbrite, online forms), manage attendee lists and respond promptly to enquiries.
Event Delivery
- Act as point of contact on the day of events, ensuring smooth set-up, running and pack-down (including seating, signage, technology and accessibility adjustments).
- Brief staff, volunteers and facilitators on their roles and responsibilities before and during events, to ensure clarity of roles.
- Greet attendees, speakers and partners; creating a warm, inclusive and trauma-sensitive environment.

Community Engagement and Stakeholder Support

Volunteer Coordination
- Support the recruitment, induction, supervision and recognition of event volunteers.

Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting
- Collect and analyse event data, including attendance, demographics, costs, outcomes and feedback (e.g. surveys, informal feedback, Mentimeter)

Finance and Administration
- Work within agreed event budgets, tracking expenditure and income, and seeking value for money.
- Process invoices, petty cash and expenses in line with Hear Us, financial procedures.
- Maintain an organised system for event documentation (e.g. booking forms, contracts, attendance, risk assessments, evaluations).
Safeguarding, EDI and Health & Safety
- Ensure all events comply with safeguarding, data protection, confidentiality and health & safety policies.
- Ensure events are inclusive of people from diverse backgrounds and are accessible to people with a range of mental health needs and disabilities.
- Report safeguarding concerns promptly following internal procedures.
Other Duties
- Attend staff meetings, supervision, training and development opportunities.

What will you do?
This newly formed leadership role will manage the financial operations across specific subsidiaries of Oasis. It will ensure financial accuracy, sustainability, regulatory compliance, and the delivery of timely financial information to support decision-making across the group.
To be successful in this role, applicants will require:
· A recognised professional accounting qualification or part-qualification, together with a thorough practical understanding of financial and management accounting principles and techniques.
· Advanced working knowledge/experience of Excel and computerised accounting systems (preferably PS Financials) with the ability to interpret and extract relevant financial information.
· Ability to communicate complex financial information to a wide audience with varying financial backgrounds, both internally and externally
· Excellent inter-personal and people management experience

About the Role
This is an exciting role that requires a mixture of skills in relation to learning and development. The role is varied and will involve delivery, design and management of learning to support staff and volunteers within the Witness Service delivered by the charity. As the face of learning and development for the Witness Service within the organisation, you will build positive relationships, promote learning and act in an advisory capacity when it comes to development.
You will;
- Deliver and design face to face and virtual training for our volunteers, staff and partners. There is an expectation that you will deliver 4 days per week, with 1 days administration work and time allocated for design projects.
- Work with Subject Matter Experts and senior staff both within Victim Support and external stakeholders on learning projects relevant to the Witness Service.
- Create accurate delegate reports and take appropriate action to address any identified under-performance.
- Deliver high quality presentations and learning interventions with a focus on evaluation and continuous improvement.
It is essential to be able to work without direct supervision, prioritise work and deal with competing and conflicting demands in an organised and effective manner.
You will need to work flexibly as required and whilst the role is home-based there will be a requirement for moderate travel throughout England and Wales.

Records Manager & Archivist
The duties within this unique role will be shared across the main London offices of the Methodist Church in Britain and United Reformed Church. The successful candidate will be a suitably qualified and experienced records and archives management professional, who is confident to work across our different sites and systems. You will be a knowledgeable manager of analogue and digital records and archives. Some familiarity with Church structures and record keeping would be an advantage.
You will need to be able to advise the staff teams for both Churches on records management strategy and practice and support them in the implementation of electronic records management systems (ERMS). You will also be able to undertake collections management tasks such as appraisal, condition assessments, basic cleaning and re-packaging and cataloguing.
You will need to be able to liaise effectively with the archive services where our collections are deposited, and work with our voluntary heritage committees and archival advisers. You will be encouraged to appoint and manage volunteers to build capacity around this work.
The Methodist Church has records from the early 18th century onwards. Its governance records (estimated at c4m items) are deposited in the John Rylands Research Institute & Library, University of Manchester, and its missionary collections in the SOAS Library, University of London. Records of the Church at a local level are deposited with local authority archive services. There are also five ‘community archives’ managed by volunteer editors.
The United Reformed Church was established in 1972, with its roots in the Presbyterian and Congregational Churches. The search for a new location for the centralised deposit and permanent preservation of URC records is a key objective for this post-holder, along with developing and supporting the management of current administrative records.
Both organisations maintain offsite record storage and occasional travel to them will be a necessary part of this role.

Summary
The National Safeguarding Team provides professional safeguarding advice to the Church of England on matters of national policy as part of its wider transformation plan, which includes the development and implementation of national policy, training, quality assurance and audit, and work with survivors. The national safeguarding team also leads complex casework and supports dioceses in their safeguarding of children and adults.
An investigation by the Independent Inquiry Child Sexual Abuse conducted in 2019 has highlighted some areas for improvement in the Church of England Safeguarding Structure and Practices. This investigation reviewed the extent to which the Church of England and the Church in Wales protected children from sexual abuse in the past. It also examined the effectiveness of current safeguarding arrangements. A public hearing on these specific areas was held in 2019. The report, published in 2020, also drew on the previous two case studies on the Anglican Church, which related to the Diocese of Chichester and Peter Ball. In addition to recommendations made in the case studies, IICSA made eight recommendations in this report, covering areas such as clergy discipline, information-sharing and support for victims and survivors.
The Redress Scheme project is part of the Church of England's Safeguarding Programme, which aims to embed structure, quality assurance and continuous improvement in line with its Safeguarding principles. Following the Church of England's recently approval of a comprehensive redress scheme for survivors of Church-related abuse, the project is now moving into the implementation phase, and we are looking for a new member of the team to help us prepare for the opening the Scheme.

- Capacity requirement is 2-3 days a month, covering approximately 9 - 12 Steering Board meetings per year, which are expected to take place during usual business hours. The Non-Executive Chair may on occasions be asked to represent the Redress Steering Board at other organisational governance meetings, subject to availability.
- While most meetings are held online, applicants should be aware that there could be in-person meetings planned in the future.

Role
The Events Manager will lead the planning and delivery of Degrees’ international events, including workshops that bring together funded researchers and the biennial Degrees Global Forum conference. Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, they will design and manage high-quality events that strengthen collaboration, showcase research outcomes, and advance Degrees’ mission to support equitable SRM research in the Global South. This role requires strategic oversight, attention to detail, and the ability to deliver complex international events from concept to completion.
Key responsibilities
Lead planning and delivery of events
- Be responsible for the planning, coordination, and successful delivery of Degrees’ international events, including the biennial Degrees Global Forum and—in cooperation with the programmes team—quarterly regional research workshops.
- Support the delivery of policy engagement and fundraising events.
- Develop event concepts, agendas, and formats that align with organisational priorities.
- Work closely with colleagues across other workstreams—particularly the Fundraising and Policy Engagement teams—to ensure that events are aligned with strategic priorities, that logistical planning complements programme content and policy objectives, and that participants and speakers are appropriately supported.
- Be responsible for end-to-end event budgets, forecasting, variance reporting; lead procurement;
Operational and logistical management
- Ensure the smooth delivery of all event logistics, including venue selection, letters of contribution to participants, travel and lodging arrangements, visas, supplier contracting, budget management, insurances and risk assessments.
- Ensure events run smoothly, on schedule, and within budget, whilst maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and participant experience.
Collaboration and stakeholder engagement
- Work closely with colleagues across Degrees’ teams (programmes, policy engagement, communications, fundraising, and operations) to ensure events support strategic goals.
- Liaise with external partners, funders, and speakers to build strong relationships and deliver impactful, collaborative events.
Monitoring, learning, and continuous improvement
- Capture lessons learned from each event and contribute to refining Degrees’ event strategy and processes.
- Support post-event communications, reporting, and knowledge sharing to maximise the impact and visibility of Degrees’ work.
