About the role
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast moving, youth focused, charity and to play a vital role in securing income to support our youth activities – working with Trusts and Foundations predominantly, but with the opportunity to also build relationships with statutory funders and, in future, major donors.
We are looking for a proactive, organised individual to join Young Enterprise as part of our impactful and collaborative National Fundraising team. YE’s supportive yet driven environment places personal development at its core, to ensure team members thrive.
Working with the Senior Relationship Manager and the Philanthropy Team, you will contribute to an annual budget of £4.2m and raise income from Trusts and Foundations and small statutory income streams, utilising your income generating and communication skills. You will also undertake prospect research, as well as developing compelling project updates and reports to inspire supporters.

Key Responsibilities
- Income generation - to achieve or exceed agreed income targets, with a focus on securing donations from Trust and Foundations
- Grant management - working with internal colleagues to track funded projects’ progress against targets and taking action to course correct when necessary. Produce timely, engaging, and accessible project reports to inspire and build donor relationships
- Prospecting - research and qualify a pipeline of Trusts and Foundations and small statutory opportunities to progress and secure financial support for YE.
- Administration - effective administration across YE systems and platforms
- Donor stewardship - some travel required to support YE activities with young people in schools, donor visits to projects
A few practical things
- This is a hybrid role, requiring you to work from a YE office (London or Oxford) at least 8 times per month
- The role will involve travel to events, typically at schools, which take place during term time, however some evening working may also be required.

Leading the Education partnerships team, responsibility for the development of all Educaiton customers and for maintaining the income generation and young people targets in line with the overall Trust strategy and annual requirements.
Who we’re looking for

This a senior management position which is responsible for the strategic direction and the leadership day to day operation of our extremely busy Education Team. The role requires you to be strategic but pragmatic, balancing the mission and purpose of The Trust with tactical day to day delivery of Sales support and partnership working across the organisation.

Your experience

Areas of repsponsibility
- Leadership and management of the Education Team, providing direction, challenge, support and development as appropriate. This will also involve coaching and supporting the team in their professional development, as well as in the management and execution of sales targets.
- Development and ownership of The Education Team’s annual revenue target, specifically looking at Charitable funding levels, volumes and occupancy levels across all centres.

1. Volunteering & People Manager (80% of workload)
You'll become a key cog at the heart ofFree to Be's management team, taking lead responsibility for volunteer and staff recruitment and retention, holding and delivering our volunteering strategy, launching a new training infrastructure through 2026-27, and heading up 'all things volunteering'. 2. Residential Project Lead Coordinator (20% of role)
Our residentials are fun, immersive, tiring (in all the right ways), impactful and inspiring. A core aspect of all Free to Be Kids staff's roles is leading circa 8-10 of our residential projects across each year - working on the ground with the children, leading the volunteers & staff team on project, and helping make the projects special, safe, and transformative for vulnerable young people, many of whom have damaged confidence, low self-worth, or other social-emotional needs.
Attendance at approximately 8-10 five-six night residential projects per year outside London is a core component of this role. As a manager, you'd likely attend 8-10 residentials in year 1 to build familiarity with both the projects and our volunteer base, with this dropping to c.8 per year thereafter.
On offer to the right candidate:
Salary: Circa £38,000 - £40,000, dependent on experience.
Hours: Fulltime: 37.5 hours per week. Essential attendance on at c.8-10 residential projects a year.
Leave: 25 days per year, plus bank holidays and up to 13 additional pre-set discretionary reward days in September and during the Christmas period. A substantial perk of the role is potential to take up to 4 consecutive weeks off to travel each September.

Working to the Executive Director, you will interact with our decentralised finance, marketing and communications staff and volunteers.
Together, you will nurture Major Donor relationships and create and manage appropriate donor stewardship schemes and rationalise our income streams.
