This is an exciting time for the trusts team at Sue Ryder. Following a highly successful year, the team has grown its pool of supporters and is recruiting for one new member to join an existing team of four, including this post. As well as nurturing and reporting to loyal supporters, this role will focus on raising additional trust and foundation gifts of up to £10,000, helping us achieve our new organisational, five-year strategy.
About you:
A proactive fundraiser, with experience of cultivating and securing gifts up to £10,000 and a passion for building and maintaining support. You will have excellent attention to detail, strong written and verbal skills and a talent for establishing rapport. You will relish connecting trust donors to brilliant projects that require funding and be motivated by the opportunity to maintain personalised relationships with them.
About the role:
This role plays an important part in cultivating and stewarding grant givers to support Sue Ryder’s work. It offers the post-holder the chance to increase their knowledge and experience through working on a wide range of local and national fundraising propositions. With a new strategy in place, innovative and much-needed services launching and supported by a friendly team, the role provides considerable scope for a fundraiser to develop in a successful and expanding national team.

We are looking for two Development Managers to join our Development team focusing on Individual Giving and Trust and Foundation Fundraising.
The Development Manager (Individual Giving) will manage the strategic development of Individual Giving, identifying opportunities to drive growth in this area. About the Opportunity

Trusts fundraising is a successful income stream for the Charity and you will be instrumental in Identifying, researching and approaching prospective contacts in order to cultivate relationships and generate new business. You will also develop the existing pipeline.
About You
To be successful in this role you must have worked in a trust fundraising role previously with experience of securing 5 and 6 figure grants. It is desirable but not essential that you have experience in securing both public sector and Arts Council England funding

BACKGROUND
The Helen Bamber Foundation (HBF) is a pioneering human rights charity supporting refugees and asylum seekers who are the Survivors of extreme human cruelty. Our clients have been subjected to atrocities including state-sponsored torture, human trafficking, religious and political persecution, forced labour, sexual exploitation, and gender-based violence. Recognising the complexity of each client’s individual needs, HBF offers specialist services within a Model of Integrated Care encompassing: therapy, medical advice, legal protection, counter-trafficking support, housing and welfare advice and integration.

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE
As the Trusts and Foundations Executive, you will be responsible for delivering income from a range of donors and prospects, with a focus on trusts and foundations, through growing a successful grants pipeline and inspiring funders to support the Helen Bamber Foundation. We are looking for an individual who thrives working in a collaborative way and who wants to gain experience working with Fundraising and Communications Team that has a successful track record of securing income.
You will be managed by our Grants Manager and work closely with the Head of Fundraising to deliver high-quality applications and reports to small and medium-sized Trusts and Foundations, as well as supporting larger donors in collaboration with your team members.

As Philanthropy Manager you will be stewarding high profile Trust and Foundation donors, researching new donors and writing compelling applications using detailed case studies compiled by the team. You will be able to shape our new Major Donor programme which has shown early success and is an income stream ready for growth.
