We are working with Pact, who are seeking an experienced Senior Manager (Major Gifts) with a proven track record of success to manage and grow their portfolio of major donors and legacies, to enable them to make a difference to the lives of those affected by criminal justice.

Pact is a successful national charity that provides life changing and lifesaving care for men, women and young people in custody, those with criminal convictions in the community and their children, family members and carers. 

In this newly created role, the Senior Manager (Major Gifts) will provide strong stewardship of existing relationships of mid value and major donors, support and cultivate interest in Pact’s programmes and unrestricted giving and take responsibility for identifying and developing new major gifts from individuals and family trusts. In addition, you will strengthen and develop the legacy strategy and offer to existing and new individual supporter. 

This is a senior, strategic role within Pact and you will have 

• A proven track record and specialism in either legacy or major donor giving, and the autonomy to raise funds from individuals, including HNWIs and to lead on this area within a charity.
• Experience of researching and cultivating individuals including HNWIs and family trusts to secure financial support.
• Strong interpersonal skills, talented at building relationships and trust, and able to inspire long term commitment.
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to clearly convey concepts and inspire a wide range of people through written & verbal channels, with the ability to build a case for support.
• Strong literacy, numeracy and budgeting skills and be capable of writing effective proposals, and reports.  Experience of using Salesforce is desirable but not essential.

Originally the Catholic Prisoners Aid Society, founded in 1898, Pact has a largely Catholic supporter base, with warm and committed relationships with a wide range of Catholic and other Christian stakeholders.  This is a key role for Pact, where you will work closely with other member of the fundraising and extended teams, collaborating with the Head of Faith in Action to cultivate and secure new support from Catholic people motivated by the work of Pact.

This role is home based; though you will need to be able to commute into London when required. A basic DBS check is required for this role.

Key responsibilities 

Organisational Leadership and line management

Fundraising 

• Work with the Director and consultants to own and implement a robust fundraising strategy to support the organisation as it executes its new strategic plan 

• Develop processes for managing fundraising applications and stewardship of existing funders and supporters 

• Write and submit high quality, inspiring and tailored funding applications and reports for trusts and foundations (expected to be in the region of £10,000-150,000) 

• Identify and develop potential new funding opportunities for First Give, including major donors and corporate funders 

• Manage relationships with a set number of key funders, ensuring that we proactively seek feedback, engagement and involvement in our work 

New School Partner Recruitment 

• Oversee and co-ordinate all new school partner recruitment sales and marketing activity 

• Work with our marketing agency to develop and implement marketing campaigns 

• Support the Programmes Team to recruit new partner schools in priority regions 

• Proactively seek opportunities for growth of the First Give partners network 

• Develop and design and production of marketing and sales resources to support all sales activity

Communications

We are seeking a Fundraising Coordinator (Individual Giving) to join our small but dynamic Fundraising team.

The Individual Giving Fundraiser will play a vital role in increasing income from our existing supporters. In 2024 and 2025, the Church of England is testing and piloting a range of approaches to help churches fundraise for projects. The Giving Directorate is leading on the strategy to coordinate and support the plans being developed by our dioceses, churches, cathedrals, schools, and departments. Job Summary:

As Net Zero Carbon Statutory Fundraising Coordinator, you will work in The Giving Directorate and operate across the whole Church with a focus on supporting parishes and dioceses to access statutory funds. You will share your knowledge and insight to support with identifying, researching and applying to funding from a range of government sources. You will develop and maintain resources, guidance and training and help share best practice across the country, as well as working with regional fundraisers. The role:

Main responsibilities

• Develop a national plan to secure statutory funding at parish and diocesan level
• Acting as a central point of coordination between the schools, housing and parish fundraising workstreams to oversee statutory funding
• Working specifically with the Regional Fundraising Officer in the north west cluster of dioceses to identify and support applications to statutory funding sources by parishes
• Working with Net Zero Implementation Manager to support statutory funding applications for clergy housing

The ideal candidate:

To be successful, you will need experience of securing statutory funding for projects and of other aspects of fundraising. You will need to be a very strong self-motivator and initiator as the job requires an ability to work across a wide geographical area on a diverse range of projects. Experience managing projects would also be useful. You will be an excellent trainer and communicator.

Factory International is the brand-new organisation behind Manchester International Festival (MIF) and the landmark new cultural space, Aviva Studios - helping to put Manchester on the map as a world-leading destination for art. Producing an ambitious year-round programme of original work and one-of-a-kind events, Factory International builds on the magic of MIF - hosting the festival every other year at its new home and venues across Greater Manchester.

Salary: £40-45k
Location: Hybrid between iconic new Manchester location and home
Contract: Permanent, either full time or 4 days considered
Benefits: 25 days holiday (+bank) and matched 5% employer pension contribution

About the role
You'll work with creative, visionary philanthropists and donors who want to be part of the fabric of Factory International and everything it means for Manchester.

You'll develop and steward relationships from £10k upwards - working with both new and existing prospect pools - using data insight, donor intelligence and exceptional stewardship to drive increased support and engagement.

About you
You're a passionate and skilled relationship manager who can see themselves working and thriving side-by-side with creatives, artists and other talented fundraisers. You're confident networking with high-net-worth individuals and philanthropists, and will feel comfortable positioning the organisational offer and making fundraising asks.

You are motivated by targets and enjoy working with clear metrics, which will include developing strategic prospect plans and building relationships, securing meetings, planning engagement opportunities and working across the team to develop meaningful cultivation and stewardship opportunities.

You don't need to come directly from an arts background, but you do need to be able to communicate the power of art to change lives and enrich communities.
