Role overview 

upReach is seeking to hire a People and Culture Officer to provide administrative support in various areas of the charity. You will work with the Senior People and Culture Manager in areas including recruitment, onboarding, offboarding, employee relations, and a variety of HR projects such as Training, Learning and Development, EDI, and policy development.

Responsibilities

Recruitment & Onboarding

• Work with managers to refine job descriptions, post roles, and advertise vacancies effectively.

• Manage the Recruitment inbox, responding promptly and professionally to candidate queries.

• Oversee the Applied platform to facilitate end-to-end recruitment, including application tracking, interview scheduling, and assessment centre coordination.

• Provide comprehensive administrative assistance during onboarding, including preparing offer letters and contracts, conducting reference checks, and creating induction schedules.

• Coordinate equipment setup (e.g. laptops, phones) and access to key systems such as Appogee for new starters.

Offboarding

• Assist managers and employees through the offboarding process to ensure a smooth transition.

• Conduct exit interviews and summarise feedback to facilitate continuous improvement efforts.

• Manage administrative tasks for leavers, including system deactivations, final leave calculations, and equipment returns.

Operations & Systems Management

• Maintain and update employee data. 

• Assist with the planning and administration of staff surveys, including setting up surveys, booking town halls, and coordinating related logistics.

• Assist in event coordination, including booking venues, transportation, and accommodations for key events such as the SSMAs, Team Day, Gala Dinner, Mental Health First Aid Training and staff induction weeks.

• Oversee the movement and tracking of all tech equipment across sites in line with onboarding and offboarding processes.

• Act as the first point of contact for general People & Culture queries, providing consistent and helpful support to all colleagues.

• Ensure employee records are accurately maintained and GDPR compliant.

• Produce HR-related reports covering recruitment, onboarding, offboarding, and employee engagement metrics (with guidance from senior colleagues).

• Work closely with the Senior People & Culture Manager to review and improve internal HR processes, aligning them with organisational goals.

About the role

The Refugee Council is seeking to recruit a 7 hours weekly face-to-face Adult Psychological Therapist to work with resettled refugees in Sheffield. This is a fixed-term post until March 2027.

Sheffield Therapeutic Services for Resettled Refugees (STSRR) is based within the Refugee Council's Resettlement Team in South Yorkshire. The Resettlement Team provides advice and support for Resettled Refugees to help them access services and mainstream provision and establish community links.

The Therapeutic Team in Sheffield provides one-to-one Psychological Therapy and Group therapy to resettled refugees presenting with mental distress. We have adopted a psychosocial perspective and use a specially tailored care model to address the needs of our clients.

We are seeking an experienced Psychological Therapist to work within this team for one day per week. The post-holder will be based within our Sheffield office, and all therapeutic work is face-to-face working alongside our Therapeutic Interpreting team.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting to: Rector

Hours: Up to 18 hours per week (0.52 FTE at 35 hours per week) with occasional evening events or meetings. Core working hours are 9.30am-3pm on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

PURPOSE

The Communications Lead will develop and optimise each communications channel so that the churches of St Matthew and St Paul connect well with each other and the wider community.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Working with the Rector and other clergy and staff, the Communications Lead is responsible for the following:

1. Strategy & planning

• With the Rector, prepare and implement an annual communications plan around key events and special services for the parish
• Maintain and develop the parish’s visual branding and style

2. Communications channels

• Oversee the generation of content for each channel, edit content produced by others for accuracy and appropriateness, and produce content, as required
• Website – develop the website to optimise its usefulness [NB a new website design is underway]
• Weekly Email – produce the weekly Mailchimp email
• Social Media – maintain and grow audiences on Facebook and Instagram; schedule content using Meta business suite
• Magazine – create a fun and informative printed magazine in-house three times a year (currently done using Canva)
• Video – record a weekly video message with one of the clergy, for use in the weekly email; produce other videos as and when required
• Youtube – manage the parish’s Youtube channel
• Produce materials and promote services and events across key periods in the church’s calendar (e.g. Advent, Christmas, Lent and Easter), through printed and online channels
• Promote the parish’s outreach groups and events (e.g. Coffee Pot, Bumps & Babies, Have a Meal on Us and Community Day), through printed and online channels
• Produce other printed materials as necessary (e.g. leaflets, posters, flyers and roller banners), in keeping with our branding
• Photography – take pictures when required, adhering to the parish’s safeguarding and consent policies; organise church volunteers to capture images when necessary

3. Other responsibilities

• Staff the church office on Tuesdays and Thursdays (e.g. answering calls and questions from volunteers and/or people hiring the hall).
• Liaise, as necessary, with the diocesan and cathedral communications teams
• Complete all necessary training and comply fully with all safeguarding, health & safety and risk management procedures
• Attend meetings as indicated by the Rector
• Other duties commensurate with the role, as may be required

Rated ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission, our teams support families across Surrey, north-west London and south-west London from diagnosis to end of life and throughout bereavement with a range of nursing, practical, emotional and medical care.

 

About the role

Family Support Workers (FSW) are the frontline of our care. Each FSW holds a caseload of end-of-life and bereaved families. They get to know their families, and check-in regularly with phone calls and home visits and can provide enhanced emotional support where required through more regular contact and interventions. Our FSWs tell families about the many services they can access at Shooting Star, assess their needs and make recommendations to our multi-disciplinary team. They  support families of different ethnicities and families living in poverty, helping our service be as accessible as possible.

Our FSWs work closely with our Therapists, Counsellors, Social Workers, Transition Team and our Care Events Team. Weekly MDT meetings bring the team together to think of ways to help families in crisis. The work is varied and creative, taking place at the hospices, in family homes and hospitals, allowing the support to be where the families need it. Our Family Support Workers are hugely appreciated by the families we support.

The ambition of our strategy is to ensure every family affected by a life-limiting condition, or the sudden death of a child, has access to the specialist care that they need. Day to day duties are:

· Being the on-site duty FSW, welcoming families on site, monitoring email inboxes and answering the Family Support Line.

· Helping with support groups and family events

· Providing on the spot emotional support, sometimes in a crisis where a calm and supportive response is required.

· Visiting newly bereaved families in their homes.

· Supporting families staying at our Christopher’s hospice (booked stays and end of life).

· Attending various locations over the course of a week: hospice, hospital, family homes.

· Building connections with families from different backgrounds, delivering culturally sensitive care.

· Helping safeguard families at risk of harm.

· Acting as an ambassador for Shooting Star’s Specialist Bereavement Service, supporting other care team members with their learning and delivery of the bereavement pathway, and continually seeking ways to improve what we offer families.

The post holder will need to have a UK driving license.

The hours are predominantly worked 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

Twice a month, the FSW will work a weekend day (with advance notice). This is in place of a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday that week.

This role requires experience of working with children and families who have experienced hardship, or those with complex needs. You should have a calm, positive manner, conveying empathy whilst maintaining professional boundaries. We are looking for someone passionate about supporting children and families.

About the Role

A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen to work as a Senior Housing IDVA for Solace co-located in Waltham Forest Housing Department. As the Senior Housing IDVA you will provide immediate support for victim/survivors of abuse attending housing including carrying out risk and needs assessments, safety planning and providing short-term support and onward referral. In addition, you will act as the housing lead for Solace in Waltham Forest, providing advice and guidance to Solace staff and Waltham Forest housing professionals.

The Senior Housing IDVA will also hold line management responsibility. The Senior Housing IDVA will hold a caseload of cases with complex housing issues for short-term support.

You will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team and collaborating with external agencies in your work.

About You

We are seeking highly organised, self-driven individuals who are passionate about ending violence against women and girls (VAWG) and homelessness. Applicants should have a proactive attitude and a strong commitment to Solace’s feminist approach in supporting women and their children toward safety. Training and support will be provided as needed for this role.

We are seeking candidates with a deep understanding of domestic abuse and its effects on women and children. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience providing both emotional and practical support to survivors of violence against women and girls (VAWG). A thorough knowledge of housing options and associated legislation is essential. Candidates should hold a relevant qualification in VAWG or be willing to undertake accredited training. Previous experience in supervising staff or volunteers is also required.
