Position: Area Fundraising Manager

Job Purpose

This is a unique and exciting opportunity for an experienced fundraiser.  This role won’t just be supporting fundraising internally but will be leading a fundraising change across the borough. As our Area Fundraising Manager, you will lead a new strategy to transform how our communities give, collaborate and create impact.  You’ll organise large‑scale fundraising initiatives that bring the whole town together from landmark public events to innovative collective campaigns to smaller, targeted initiatives.  As our role as an infrastructure charity, we have a vision to help generate more sustainable income for a wide range of VCSE organisations in Barnsley whilst bringing people together to proudly support the brilliant charities, social enterprises and groups who hold up our communities every day.

You’ll also work closely with our members across the sector to build confidence, skills and long‑term capability, delivering or facilitating high‑quality fundraising training, mentoring and resources. Your efforts will be particularly focused in the areas of regular giving, events, corporate income and fundraising strategies. Through your guidance, local organisations will build skills, ambition and long‑term resilience ensuring no organisation is left behind because of confidence, connections or know‑how.

You won’t just be supporting others but you will play a pivotal role to help Barnsley CVS grow stronger.  One day per week will be spent supporting our own initiatives to generate sustainable income that helps Barnsley CVS expand its support offer, deepen its impact and champion the sector long into the future.  This could be anything from supporting bid writing to exploring new income streams to innovative fundraising.

Key responsibilities include:

· Overseeing youth provision, including mentoring, youth clubs and targeted interventions.

About the role:

The prospect research and pipeline management role is pivotal to fundraising at Sue Ryder – you will sit within the Philanthropy and Partnership team and will be working across the Corporate, Trust, Major Donor and Regional teams. We are looking for someone who can support our fundraisers through prospect research, network mapping, lead qualification, and due diligence checks.

Most importantly you will be a proactive member of the team, joining us at an exciting time as we embark on our newly developed 5-year fundraising strategy. You will be a member of the team with the skills to review and develop the pipeline management process on our CRM (Raiser Edge NXT) ensuring the teams have access to dashboards, tracking their donors across the stages of solicitation. You will also provide insight reports into how well we are moving prospects through the pipelines and will have a voice to make recommendations. This role will also ensure we are working within data protection and fundraising regulations and both deliver and track our due diligence checks.

About you:

• Educated to degree level or with equivalent relevant work experience.
• Familiarity with prospect research tools and the ability to identify and recommend the best tools to support our work using the budget as cost effectively as possible.
• Thorough working knowledge of GDPR as it relates to major donor fundraising and the Fundraising Codes of Practice.
• Experience of undertaking due diligence checks on prospective donors and of setting up and implementing policies and processes to ensure regulatory compliance.

• Experience of delivering prospect research activities to identify and qualify leads for fundraising teams across corporate, trust and major donor income streams.
• Working knowledge of high value income streams and what will support fundraisers in achieving income growth.
• Experience of providing relevant high quality and accurate research profiles with developed research skills and attention to detail.
• Proven experience in identifying new high-value funding prospects from the database and other sources including major donors, corporate partners and trusts.

Salary and Package

Salary: £60,000 - £65,000 per annum, depending on experience.

The Brain Tumour Charity is moving at a fast pace so we are looking for someone that has an enthusiasm and passion for our work and a conviction to deliver positive outcomes for those that are affected by this devastating disease.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

· With support from the Events Manager, lead and deliver a portfolio of third-party and challenge events

· Act as the main liaison with event providers

· Provide personalised, high-quality stewardship to participants, supporting fundraising, training and event preparation

· Develop and implement recruitment plans to maximise participation and meet targets

· Attend key challenge events as required, coordinating on the-day logistics and managing volunteers

· Build and maintain strong relationships that encourage repeat engagement and long-term commitment to The Charity

· Maintain accurate records within the CRM

· Support event reporting, performance tracking and trend analysis

· Use insights to inform improvements in stewardship and event planning

· Ensure all activity complies with fundraising regulations, health and safety requirements and GDPR

· Manage suppliers to ensure excellent, cost-effective delivery

· Undertake additional duties as required to support the wider team and organisation

As the Head of Philanthropy, Asia, you will play a key role in growing Birmingham’s philanthropic programme in the Asia-Pacific region. The focus will be on increasing six-figure+ giving through the University of Birmingham Hong Kong Foundation and from the wider region. Most of their warm donors are based in Malaysia and Hong Kong, but there is an active community of alumni in Singapore and scoping to be done across Asia to drive the next phase of their strategy forward beyond alumni donors, and to build on a recent seven-figure donation as a catalyst for further giving.

The University established their Hong Kong Foundation in 2019 and giving is off to a strong start. Continuing on this trajectory you will work to make it financially sustainable, aiming to have multi-year commitments lined up. You will steer and develop the Foundation’s volunteer Board of Directors, increasing giving from their networks, and working with them to distribute funds to programmes at the University that will also benefit Hong Kong.

As a senior fundraiser in the Development & Alumni Relations Office (DARO), you will be expected to be innovative, self-motivated and to take ownership of fundraising in this region. As part of a dynamic team and led by some of the most respected names in higher education fundraising, you will work across the University to generate gifts to key philanthropic projects and encourage new donors to make significant gifts. You will also have the opportunity to work with the senior leadership across the University to travel, drive income and develop innovative funding proposals for the region.

Job Summary

As Director of Income Generation and Growth, you will lead a step-change in sustainable income growth for Bowel Cancer UK, positioning the organisation for scale, resilience, and long-term impact. You will drive a data-led, insight-driven approach to income generation, optimising existing pipelines while unlocking new and diversified revenue streams.

You will develop and deliver a fully costed, evidence-based income strategy that accelerates growth, brings innovation and commercial intelligence, strengthens return on investment, and builds organisational momentum.

You will bring strategic vision and gravitas, significant sector expertise, and an inclusive, collaborative leadership style, line-managing the fundraising leadership team, ensuring a high-performing culture and guiding a team of passionate professionals to maximise Bowel Cancer UK's charitable income and impact across the UK.

What the job involves

We’re looking an Events and Community Coordinator to join our Events and Community Team. We’re a results-driven team focused on maximising opportunities, reaching ambitious goals, and delivering an outstanding experience for our supporters.

Our team raise funds through a range of activities including:

· our own events (e.g. March for Men)

· virtual products (e.g. The Month Series)

· third party events (e.g. London Marathon)

· Golf Days

· helping community fundraisers who organise their own activity

You’ll be our first point of contact for our fundraisers, providing admin and support through telephone, email, and social media channels. You’ll build and manage relationships with existing and new supporters. From registration to the end of their supporter journey you'll help motivate during challenges, offer fundraising advice and ensure thanks at the end of a first-class experience.

Whilst each Coordinator has a primary area of responsibility across different types of events, you’ll also work across teams to support where needed during busy periods of activity. This role sits within the Community Fundraising sub-team, supporting people organising their own fundraiser, from bake sales to head shaves and unique walking and cycling challenges. Day-to-day, you’ll manage our inbox and proactively reach out to new fundraisers to offer support and guidance, as well as delivering core processes like thanking, fulfilment and volunteer management in collaboration with other internal teams.

You’ll also work with our Communications teams. This supports the planning and delivery of our activity. You'll help engage with our digital adverts and identify compelling supporter stories. This helps to raise the profile of our fundraising activity, as well as prostate cancer and Prostate Cancer UK.

You’ll have the drive and eagerness to provide crucial support to our sector-leading programme of events which generated over £41m of gross income in 2025-6. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone early in their fundraising career to grow, develop and gain valuable skills and experience in a fundraising role within a progressive and innovative organisation. You’ll make a positive and valuable contribution to the success of the Events and Community Fundraising team through excellent communication skills and being proactive in supporting our event participants. You’ll have a strong eye for detail, customer-centric mindset and will be able to prioritise a busy workload to ensure we are able to consistently deliver excellent supporter care. You’ll be self-motivated, well organised and have a ‘can-do’ approach to the role.

How and where we work

Colleagues attend the office at least four days per month (pro rata for part-time colleagues) to collaborate, build relationships, and support projects and decision-making. You can choose where to work the rest of the time. Travel to the office is a commute, so we pay our own travel costs.

Additional in-person attendance will be required during your first few months for induction and training, to support you to learn the role and get to know colleagues.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced major donor professional to join one of the best major donor fundraising teams in the sector at a pivotal moment.
