Are you an experienced fundraiser, skilled in crafting persuasive narratives and telling moving stories of impact and change? We have a fabulous opportunity for you to use your creative and organisational skills to make a difference to young lives in Doncaster. 

We are currently finalising our next Forward Plan, with an ambition to create an inclusive, vibrant community, committed to everyone having a fair chance to discover who they are and what they can become.  We currently work with children and young people aged 5 to 30. 

Our priority programmes include support coaching for young people, community activity sessions, sustaining our accommodation provision for vulnerable young adults and establishing how we can best support more young people on the homelessness pathway.  We have some great spaces that are in need of development, and we expect that both capital and revenue funding will be included in your workload. We also look for smaller grants during the course of the year, including for food for our residents and supplies for our art groups, and we hope to recruit volunteers to assist with some elements of this work.

The core of your role will be in generating funds from trusts and individual giving, with other fundraising and communications tasks included as time permits. 

- 

• To create and update cases for support for YMCA Doncaster’s fundable projects and general running costs.
• To be responsible for an assigned portfolio of trusts, foundations and similar, developing knowledge of, and relationships with, those funders.
• To make strong applications to funders within the assigned portfolio, matching YMCA Doncaster’s agreed cases for support with funders’ interests and requirements.
• To create, publicise and monitor outcomes of giving campaigns and / or fundraising events. 
• To nurture key external stakeholders including potential supporters from the local business community, the media and others as appropriate.
• To prepare and give presentations, maintain ongoing contact and host trustee or representative visits where required as part of fundraising work.
• To devise and oversee efficient evaluation and monitoring systems which meet funder requirements.
• To keep comprehensive records, in an established format, from initial contact with a potential funder through to either the rejection correspondence or the funding agreement and subsequent monitoring and evaluation.
• To ensure that staff and volunteers joining YMCA Doncaster are encouraged to contribute to positive communications and fundraising efforts.
• To supervise / oversee volunteers and less experienced staff engaged in fundraising work. 
• To comply with fundraising and other legislation relevant to the role.
• To report to the Chief Executive monthly in the required format.
• Additional or other duties as necessary within your capabilities and status to meet the needs of YMCA Doncaster.

We provide practical help - including neuro-physiotherapy, oxygen therapy, footcare, counselling and a range of complementary therapies to help manage symptoms such as poor mobility, stiffness, pain, balance issues and "brain fog". We also run very popular virtual support including "live" online exercise classes and mindfulness sessions and have recently developed video recordings which can be accessed online at any time. We are not just about therapies - we also offer a friendly, supportive space where members, families and carers can socialise and share information, take more control over their lives and make positive decisions about their future.

Our bright, purpose-built Therapy Centre in central Reading supports the MS community in both Berkshire and surrounding counties. This year we provided more than 15,000 treatments to over 400 families and  were thrilled to received a King's Award for Voluntary Service, equivalent to an MBE, for our life changing work.

The role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Fundraiser, with a proven track record, to take a pivotal role in securing funds to support our life changing work. 

With no NHS funding, we need to raise over £700,000 each year to support ourwork. Your success will mean we can provide the best possible support for anyone affected by MS in our community and make our ambitions a reality.  

You will

• Lead and support a small fundraising team, looking for ways to maximise use of our resources. 
• Seek, select and prioritise opportunities to raise funds and increase the Charity’s profile. 
• Regularly monitor progress and inspire our team to reach their targets and goals.
• Take the lead on Trusts, Foundations and Individual Giving and oversee supporter communication and stewardship.
• Be confident indeveloping and evaluating the income generation capability of the Charity as we seek to drive income growth

Skills

• Proven success in Trust and Foundation fundraising.
• Ability to meet (and ideally exceed) pre-agreed targets.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
• Ability to analyse financial and impact data.
• Confident communicator, excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence.
• Confident with IT and proficient in MS Office: Word, Excel and Outlook.
• The ability to work outside normal office hours (Time off in Lieu will be provided).

Desirable skills:

• Experience of using a charity-based CRM system e.g. Beacon,
• Experience of working in a health charity/knowledge of Multiple Sclerosis.
• Understanding of the local funding community.
• A driving license and access to a car to attend events in necessary.

Role summary

Here at Edward’s Trust, we are excited and committed to growing our service offer and fundraising whilst working with a small but mighty team.  We have strong and realistic foundations in the trusts and grants income stream and a secure base of income from long-term committed funders. These funders enable us to reach children and adults through our specialist counselling services and projects alike, but with a huge amount of new work in development, securing new income from trusts and foundations is a high priority for us.

Key Accountabilities:

• Become an expert in Edward’s Trust current activities and future plans

The Grants and Foundations Manager position is ideal for someone with previous experience of income generation and a proven success in securing funding from trusts and grant making bodies. You will work closely with senior and service managers, to research new funding opportunities, building and sustaining strong relationships with new and existing funders. You will prepare grant applications and maintain a comprehensive database of funders, opportunities and grant applications, in addition to managing and evaluating bids to ensure optimal outcomes.

You will be highly organised with excellent written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to produce clear, compelling and persuasive proposals. Additionally, you will have strong relationship building skills, with the ability to engage and grow income from a wide range of supporters.

A high level of computer literacy and IT skills, including Microsoft Office and CRM is essential.

Our Sunflower Appeal launched in June 2025 and aims to raise £5million by 2029 to open a new cancer centre at the Princess Royal Hospital, Telford. This will double chemotherapy capacity in the region, as well as adding outpatient clinics and diagnostic facilities for the first time in Telford. This is our biggest appeal to date, and we need to make sure that our fundraising team is robust and able to rise to this challenge.

We’re looking for people to support our amazing community of fundraisers and donors in the following areas:

- Corporate- we work with business from around our region, building long-term charity partnerships, engaging them in supporting events, and involving their teams in volunteering opportunities. One of our new team members will help us build on our programme of corporate engagement, looking across the region to identify and engage new supporters, as well as working closely with our existing friends in the business community. This role can be based at either our Shrewsbury or Telford office.

- Community- Community fundraising is at the heart of our charity, and we are constantly amazed by the commitment and creativity of our supporters across the region. We are looking for another member of our team to support community fundraising and make sure our community have a brilliant experience with us. This role will have a specific focus on building our support in Telford & Wrekin and will be based primarily in our Telford office.

Our Fundraisers need to be able to build successful relationships and will be motivated to make a real difference to their local community through their fundraising efforts. They will be confident, engaging and able to communicate our message to a wide range of people. They will be resourceful and able to identify opportunities, getting people involved in a way that suits them, and adds real value to our cause.

We are looking for the equivalent of two full time people to fill these roles. This could be one person working in each area, but we will consider part time and job shares opportunities for the right candidates.

About the Role

Young Roots is looking for an experienced and creative Trusts & Foundations Fundraising Lead to play a key role in securing income that transforms the lives of young refugees and asylum seekers. This is a rewarding part-time role (28 hours per week) designed to support work-life balance while leading Trusts and Foundations income generation with structured support from the Head of Fundraising and Development. 

You'll manage a defined portfolio of Trust and Foundation partners, working alongside colleagues overseeing other income streams. You'll develop compelling funding proposals, and proactively identify new opportunities aligned with our strategy. Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, you’ll place young people’s voices and experiences at the heart of every bid, helping to fund services that support belonging, wellbeing and futures.

About the role

Medact is hiring for the new role of Fundraising Manager: Trusts & Grants to secure grant funds for the organisation over a critical one-year period. The new Fundraising Manager will be responsible for completing applications already in the pipeline, and then setting out a plan to apply for as many successful grants as possible in the period and delivering it.

The successful candidate will work closely with the senior leadership team and our programme staff, to identify, develop and write grant proposals to relevant funders, for both restricted and unrestricted income streams. 

About you

This is a skilled role but you don’t need to have had a job in an NGO before or be a professional campaigner to be right for it. You might have successfully fundraised for a local community organisation or a grassroots campaign on a social justice or health issue that you care about. 

You’ll have strong skills in developing and writing applications, with a strong understanding of the funding landscape and potential relevant grantmakers. You need to be a great communicator, able to translate the work of an organisation into language tailored for different funding bodies. You’ll also be a strong team player, able to work with relevant staff members to develop winning applications that fit properly within our existing strategy and areas of work.

Philanthropy plays a critical role in enabling Oxford to maintain and build on its status as a world-class centre of learning.  The Development and Alumni Engagement Office (DAE) at the University of Oxford has been successful in raising funds from a broad, international range of donors. All support enables the University to achieve its key aims of advancing excellence in research and teaching.

Within DAE, the Foundations and Corporations team is a pan-University fundraising team focused on building and maintaining successful philanthropic relationships for the University’s priorities. Funding secured supports posts and key research areas such as the environment, health and societal challenges, as well as scholarship support for postgraduate students. We work closely with our colleagues in specialist fundraising teams as well as those in business partnerships, innovation teams and research services. 

This is an exciting time to join our Development and Alumni engagement team. The role of Senior Development Executive – Foundations and Corporations will support the University to establish and grow new philanthropic relationships with charitable trusts, foundations and corporations across a range of subject areas and themes, from global health and climate change, to civil society and the role of AI. Funding secured will support capital projects, academic posts, innovative research and enable talented students to undertake further studies at Oxford. To achieve this, you will have the support of excellent colleagues across DAE as well as wider academic, departmental and professional service staff at Oxford.

About you

You are an experienced philanthropic fundraiser with a strong track record of securing major gifts, a confident approach and the ability to think creatively. Your ability to build rapport and relationships swiftly will enable you to lead on major gift fundraising (securing donations of £500k-£1m+), working with a range of donors (corporates, trusts and foundations). Your ability to establish credibility and foster trust across a wide range of internal and external stakeholders will be key to your success. Your strong experience of building philanthropic partnerships with organisation donors will be key. Experience of work in higher education is desirable. Above all, you will share Oxford’s mission and be driven to create meaningful impact through philanthropy.

The Community Fundraising team supported by an incredible team of volunteers, stewards some of our most dedicated supporters, who organise events and bring their networks together to raise up to six figure sums. As Senior Community Fundraising Manager you will lead a team to grow income raised through community supporters, including individuals, local groups, schools and corporate organisations. and manage our volunteering programme.

You’ll be a highly skilled relationship manager and will play a key role in strengthening stewardship within the Community Fundraising team. You will also deliver first class stewardship to some of our most dedicated community fundraising supporters and engage with new supporters to raise five and six figure sums.

You will be a high performing fundraiser with experience of delivering income growth through effective relationship management. You will be driven and dynamic and relish the opportunity to help achieve our ambitious goals.

ROLE OVERVIEW

You’ll be helping AzuKo connect with current and potential donors to raise vital funds and ensure we continue supporting those in need. The role involves conducting research, bid writing, building relationships and growing our network.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Deal with funder queries and requests

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Sales skills and willingness to make cold approaches (phone/email) to funders

• Excellent written and communication skills, able to articulate complex ideas in simple language

Desirable

• Experience in Trusts and Foundations fundraising, or fundraising generally
• Experience of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software
