As a member of the Finance, Audit and Risk (FA&R) Committee, you will be expected to provide FFL with scrutiny and oversight, with particular focus on risk within audit & finance. You will support the Co-Chairs of the FA&R and The Foundation ’ s Co-Chairs and wider Board to oversee all the financial and audit-related risks of the charity in line with good practice, and legal obligations of the Charities Act, providing the wider board with advice, recommendations and reassurances that all financial processes and related risk controls are operating effectively. The Finance & Risk Trustee will ensure that effective risks for financial sustainability, measures, controls and procedures are put in place and operate effectively. The role

• Host 2 monthly episodes (30 minutes) featuring changemakers, innovators, thought leaders, experts, in the field of climate and sustainability - organisations and individuals from civil society, academia, governments and businesses.
• Research potential guests across key sustainability sectors covering climate education, climate action, climate solutions, finance, environment and natural resources, social justice and more.
• Prepare and conduct research-based, engaging interviews.
• Send personalised guest invitations in liaison with the production team. 
• Edit your episodes and storyboard in line with the episodes' narrative.
• Help share and promote episodes through all online platforms.

Age UK Hammersmith and Fulham is seeking a dynamic person as our next Chair. Building on recent success you will ensure our Board delivers its strategy for local people working closely with our Chief Executive. 

What will you be doing?

In addition to the general responsibilities of a Trustee, the duties of the Chair include the following.

• Providing leadership to the organisation and the board by ensuring that everyone remains focused on the delivery of the organisation’s charitable purposes in order to provide greater public benefit
• Chairing and facilitating board meetings
• Giving direction to board policy-making
• Checking that decisions taken at meetings are implemented
• Representing the organisation at functions and meetings, and acting as a spokesperson as appropriate
• Bringing impartiality and objectivity to decision-making

With the Chief Executive:

• Planning the annual cycle of board meetings and other general meetings where required, for example annual general meeting
• Setting agendas for board and other general meetings
• Developing the board of trustees including induction, training, appraisal and succession planning
• Addressing conflict within the board and within the organisation, and liaising with the chief executive (if staff are employed) to achieve this
• Where staff are employed:
• Liaising with the chief executive to keep an overview of the organisation’s affairs and to provide support as appropriate
• Leading the process of supporting and appraising the performance of the chief executive
• Sitting on appointment and disciplinary panels

As our local group Support Volunteer you’ll help people affected by MS find information about local and national services. In this role you’ll be able to develop your listening and communication skills, as well as your knowledge of local services. Most importantly you’ll help people affected by MS to access the help they need.

Do you have an interest in how technology can enable people with sight loss to live connected, independent lives? We'd love you to get involved in our Tech Hub to help people with sight loss develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to use everyday technology. The Tech Hub is based at RNIB’s London Grimaldi office on Pentonville Road and is part of our Eye Care Services Centre for Excellence.

EHRAC is a team of experts in international human rights law and international mechanisms. We support and collaborate with human rights defenders in Ukraine and the South Caucasus to litigate ground breaking strategic cases to secure justice and challenge impunity. 

EHRAC’s Advisory Board provides guidance to the Co- Directors on issues of finance, operations, communications and strategic direction, and provides insight and advice on the situation in EHRAC’s target region. 

The Advisory Board member with financial management experience maintains an overview of EHRAC’s financial affairs. They ensure that effective and appropriate financial measures, controls and procedures are in place and provide support to EHRAC’s finance and grants team on an adhoc basis.

As well as attending the main meetings of the Advisory Board, they will join the Subcommittee, which consists of three Advisory Board members and meets quarterly (online or in person).
