About the position

The Video Editor Assistant will help coordinate all video and podcast production activities, supporting the design and delivery of high-quality content across various platforms. This role provides flexibility and autonomy, with opportunities for professional growth and development.

Location: Remote

Main Responsibilities

• Prepare and edit diverse video content for social media, including documentaries, promos and highlight videos.

• Adhere to a clear and comprehensive system for content files and archives.

• Assist in post-production-related tasks as needed.

• Contribute to the creative process of production of videos, by sharing ideas and discussing themes and directions of projects 

• Prepare and edit footage to uphold brand style 

• Find scripts and other source materials for video and podcast projects.

• Maintain a clear and comprehensive system for content files and archives.

• Assist in production-related tasks as needed.

• Monitor post-production processes to ensure accurate completion of details.

• Edit video content for various platforms, including web, social media, and broadcast.

• Collaborate with the creative team to develop and execute the visual style and narrative structure of video projects.

• Apply sound effects, music, graphics, and special effects to enhance the final product.

• Ensure all video content adheres to brand guidelines and quality standards.

• Manage and maintain video and podcast files, ensuring proper storage and organization.

• Meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

 Essential

• Demonstrate experience with Adobe Premier Pro

• Experience with Final Cut, Da Vinci Resolve  and Avid (not essential, but an advantage).

• Demonstrate some video production experience 

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills 

• Flexibility and openness to work on a variety of tasks 

• Focused, organized and able to prioritize and execute tasks independently 

• Passion in martial arts is preferable, although not a must

• Well-organized, proactive, self-starter, and able to deliver tasks efficiently.

• Good time-management skills.

Desirable

• Bachelor’s degree in film studies, Cinematography, or a related field.

• Experience with colour correction and sound design.

• Familiarity with graphic design software such as Adobe After Effects and Photoshop.

• Experience in a fast-paced production environment.

• Knowledge of podcast production and editing.

The Professional Development Programme with Quilombo UK is a 16-week UNPAID opportunity that requires a minimum commitment of 12 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

What will you be doing?

You should be an experienced and talented video editor/content creator.

The editor will

• Create short intro and ending animations/transitions for the festival's SM, SM ads and screenings
• Edit the interviews (Zoom/Teams) and additional footage/still to create social media ready files for YT, LI, FB, TW and IG
• Add subtitles and captions as needed for the videos

You would need to have your own professional equipment and software and a camera and lights (if you are also a videographer - preferred, not mandatory)

About the Organisation

SEED Madagascar is a British Charity working in partnership with communities in the southeast of Madagascar. We integrate high-quality community health, sustainable livelihoods; education infrastructure and conservation programmes to support long term, sustainable change and add to international best practice through research and publication across all of our programmatic areas. We are now looking for entry level interns wishing to gain experience to work alongside our team.

Position Overview

This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience working with an award-winning international charity on their website, marketing and digital platforms. Working closely with the Communications and Marketing team, your skills will be used to maintain and improve the website, track performance metrics over time, contribute to campaigns and fundraising, and publicise the charity's programmes to an international audience.

This position can be worked from home, has flexible hours and is estimated to require 2-3 hours per week.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage updates to website pages via a CMS (Content Management System)

• Publish blogs, press releases and other publications to the website

• Participate in SEED’s small online marketing and PPC meetings once a month

• Monitor and provide feedback on SEED’s website performance using Google Analytics

• Assist in the creation of media campaigns such as Christmas Appeals

• Improve website content for SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) rankings

• Work with the Media and Communications Officer to improve marketing and communications

• Work with the Programmes team to design an eye-catching and informative update to how our work is presented

• Proactively suggest and make improvements to keep the website looking fresh and engaging

Person Specification

• Experience of creating or updating a website using a CMS

• Experience using Concrete5, Wordpress or similar

• Experience of basic image editing and graphic design skills

• Previous experience of Google Analytics, HTML and CSS knowledge and/or an understanding of SEO basics would be desirable

• Critical eye for proofreading content according to organisational style and guidelines

• Be fluent in English to a high standard

• Be able to work to and advocate for all of SEED’s policies and procedures, safeguarding those that SEED works with and reporting any concerns appropriately

• Be punctual and be able to work to tight deadlines in an organised manner and to a high standard

We are looking for a Volunteer Copywriter / Script Editor to support our Podcast Production Team.

You will help turn podcast discussions into clear, engaging scripts and written content that supports storytelling and episode structure.

Key Responsibilities

• Write and edit podcast scripts
• Prepare episode summaries and show notes
• Support development of host questions and episode structure
• Ensure clarity, tone, and consistency in written content
• Edit transcripts for readability when needed
• Support written content for podcast promotion
