About Unlock YOUR Potential
At Unlock YOUR Potential, we believe an “accident of birth” should never determine a person’s destination. We are committed to breaking cycles of deprivation through holistic employability, wellbeing, and mentoring programmes that empower adults to thrive.
We are prioritising delivery in areas that rank among the top 10% most deprived nationally for employment and skills. The need is real. The talent is abundant. The opportunity for impact is extraordinary.
What this role involves
We’re looking for a proactive, organised and mission‑driven Volunteer Project Manager who can volunteer their time to help us set up and launch our new charity. This is a short‑term, high‑impact role supporting the Founder directly — and you will be the first operational volunteer to join the organisation, alongside a small team of graphic designers.
We need a volunteer Project Manager who can take the lead on planning, coordinating and driving forward the essential tasks required to get us launch‑ready.
You will work closely with the Founder to:
-
Develop clear project plans, timelines and action lists for the charity’s set‑up and launch
-
Establish early operational processes, workflows and simple systems
-
Track progress, identify risks, and keep the Founder focused on priorities
-
Coordinate tasks across design, operations, service development and early marketing
-
Support the Founder with recruiting the wider volunteer team needed to deliver our services
-
Help shape the structure and foundations of a brand‑new social‑mobility charity
Your work will directly influence how quickly and effectively we can begin supporting adults who face the highest barriers to employment and skills.
What we’re looking for
-
Experience in project management, operations, or organisational planning
-
Someone who is structured, reliable, and comfortable creating order from ambiguity
-
A collaborator who enjoys building things from scratch
-
A person who cares deeply about social mobility, fairness, and opportunity
-
Someone who can commit time over the next few weeks/months to help us reach launch
Why this role matters
Your contribution will shape the charity at its earliest and most critical stage. You won’t just be managing tasks — you’ll be helping build the foundations of an organisation designed to unlock potential for thousands of adults across the UK.
If after you have supported us and want to continue to volunteer with us, that option is available to you but for this particular project we need a short-term volunteer to help us in the start-up/launch phase).
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.

We’re dropping something big. And no, it’s not a new hoodie line. It’s youth work — reimagined, remixed, and brought straight to the streets.
We’re URBAN YOUTH, a brand‑new youth work charity turning unused spaces, empty corners, and forgotten buildings into pop‑up hubs where young people can actually show up as themselves. Think of it like an urban wear drop… but instead of clothes, we’re dropping opportunities, support, creativity, and community.
Right now, we’re in conception mode — building the blueprint, shaping the culture, and getting ready for our first pop‑ups. And this is where you come in.
The Role: Volunteer Project Manager
You’ll be the person who helps turn raw ideas into a real, operational movement. You’ll lead on project planning, mapping out our start‑up phase, and getting us launch‑ready. If you love taking a vision and building the structure that makes it possible, this is your moment.
You’ll help us:
-
Shape the project roadmap from concept to launch
-
Build timelines, workflows, and simple systems that keep us moving
-
Coordinate early‑stage tasks across a small, creative team
-
Spot risks, gaps, and opportunities before they become problems
-
Turn “we should do this” into “this is happening next week”
-
Make sure our first pop‑ups land with impact, intention, and energy
This isn’t corporate project management. It’s grassroots, hands‑on, start‑up energy — the kind where you help build the thing you’re planning.
Who This Is For
We’re looking for someone who:
-
Gets energised by building something from scratch
-
Loves the idea of youth work that goes to young people, not the other way around
-
Can bring clarity, structure, and momentum to a creative, early‑stage team
-
Isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves and make things happen
-
Wants to say “I helped build this from day one”
Why It Matters
The systems you build now will shape how we show up for young people later. Your planning becomes the backbone of our first drop. Your structure becomes the foundation of our movement. Your leadership helps us turn empty spaces into places where young people feel seen, safe, and supported.
If you’re ready to help architect something bold, raw, and genuinely new in youth work…
Join the drop. Build the movement. Change the game.
