The British Horseback Archery Association (BHAA) is seeking a volunteer Finance Committee Member to help strengthen our financial governance as we continue to grow participation, develop our national programmes and represent Great Britain on the international stage.

This is an opportunity to make a genuine difference to a small but ambitious National Governing Body. Your expertise will help ensure we remain financially sustainable while investing in the future of horseback archery across the UK.

About the role

Working alongside the Chair and Board of Directors, you'll provide independent financial oversight and support by:

• Reviewing budgets, financial reports and expenditure

• Providing financial guidance on strategic decisions

• Supporting good financial governance and accountability

• Helping monitor organisational reserves and financial sustainability

• Advising on financial policies and processes

• Bringing an objective financial perspective to Board discussions when required

Who we're looking for

Professional qualifications are welcomed but not essential. More important is a sound understanding of financial management and a desire to help a volunteer-led organisation succeed.

Summary of Role:

As a Lead Full Stack Engineer, you will lead Solution Community’s mission by building, improving, and developing the technical systems that power our global, volunteer‑driven organization. This role contributes directly to leading the creation of accessible, reliable, and scalable tools that enable volunteers to collaborate, deliver services, and support communities worldwide.

Engineers work across both front‑end and back‑end components, participate in technical planning, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver meaningful, user‑centered solutions. Responsibilities:

• Develop and Maintain Applications: Design, build, and maintain robust and scalable web applications using Firebase for backend and React/Next.js for frontend.

• Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with product managers, designers, and other developers to understand requirements, provide technical insights, and ensure alignment across the project lifecycle.

• API Development and Integration: Create and integrate RESTful APIs to connect frontend interfaces to backend services, ensuring smooth, efficient data exchange.

Position Requirements

• Expertise in: React and Next.js, in-depth knowledge of React and Next.js for building dynamic and responsive frontend interfaces, with a focus on server-side rendering and static site generation.

• Full Stack Development: Proven ability to work across the entire stack, from designing and implementing backend services to creating interactive and user-friendly frontend applications.

• Version Control and Collaboration: Experience with Git and GitHub/GitLab for version control, with a collaborative approach to working in a team environment.

• Database Management: Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and experience in designing efficient database schemas, writing complex queries, and optimizing database performance.

• UI/UX Principles: Understanding of UI/UX principles and ability to translate design mockups into functional and aesthetically pleasing web interfaces.

We are looking for team members who can commit for a minimum of 10 weeks, with adaptable profiles and who have the enthusiasm and energy we need to provide support in various areas across the organisation.

In this generalist role, you will find yourself responsible for a variety of tasks, helping to ensure that both our programme activities and day-to-day operations run smoothly. Second Tree works in a transparent way, in a challenging and changeable situation in the field; therefore, an ability to learn quickly and be open to feedback is vital. 

Your role would include:

The possible tasks included below are not exhaustive or rigidly defined; an exact role profile is dependent on the skill set of individual applicants. An average day might see you talking to students in a camp to tell them about a new class, or supporting the writing of a grant proposal. Tasks could loosely fall within 4 key areas:

Programmes

• Supporting programme coordinators in maintaining the day to day running of their activities with the Youth or Adult Education Programmes

• Supporting our children’s teachers or workshop facilitators in the planning or delivery of classes or excursions outside of camps

• Communicating key messages about our programmes to our students in camps

Admin, Finance & Logistics

• Supporting our management team in liaising with external partners

• Maintaining organisation-wide financial processes

• Coordinating the arrival and housing of incoming team members

Grants & Partnerships

• Supporting in the identification of relevant grants

• Supporting in grant writing activities

 Communications & Fundraising

• Contributing to the written/visual content of Second Tree’s social media output

• Developing social media strategies to expand our reach and impact

• Producing regular reports on performance

• Maintaining our website

• Supporting the planning and implementation of Second Tree’s fundraising initiatives, such as campaigns

• Organising and maintaining regular communications with Second Tree’s donors (newsletters, thank you letters)

You should be able to:

The Baked Bean Charity is looking for dedicated and experienced individuals to join our Board of Trustees as we embark on a period of strategy development.

This is a unique opportunity to use your skills and expertise to help shape the future of a vibrant charity that supports more than 170 people with learning disabilities every week.

We're Looking For People Who:

• Can dedicate approximately 2–3 hours per month to trustee responsibilities.

Skills and Experience We Need

We are particularly interested in hearing from people with expertise in one or more of the following areas:

• Fundraising
• Charity or business development
• Marketing and communications
• Legal services
• Human Resources

Previous experience as a charity trustee is welcomed but not essential.

What We're Looking For

Successful candidates will:

• Understand the responsibilities and legal duties of charity trustees
• Be passionate about equality, inclusion, and empowering people with learning disabilities
• Be committed to making decisions that put the needs of our service users first
• Support our mission of delivering outstanding, person-centred services

Time Commitment

• Board meetings take place approximately every 6 weeks
• Meetings last approximately 2 hours
• Most meetings alternate between online and in person in Wimbledon
• The role is voluntary and unpaid, although reasonable expenses can be reimbursed
