Become Our Founding Treasurer
Help build the financial foundations of a charity dedicated to transforming how we understand and respond to male suicide.
Too many men are dying by suicide.
In the UK, men account for around three quarters of all suicides, yet male suicide remains under-researched and under-served by targeted interventions. We believe this has to change.
Action on Male Suicide is a new research-led charity established by researchers and practitioners who have spent years studying male suicide and working with men in suicidal crisis. Our work brings together rigorous academic research, lived experience, and practical action to identify what truly helps men and ensure that knowledge is translated into better services, stronger communities, and fewer men dying.
We are on a mission to transform how we understand and respond to male suicide. Can you help us?
As we begin building the organisation, we are seeking our first Treasurer to join the Board of Trustees.
This is a unique opportunity to help shape a charity from the very beginning. Alongside the Chair and fellow trustees, you will help establish the financial governance, systems and oversight needed to support sustainable growth and maximise our impact for years to come.
Although Action on Male Suicide is a new charity, it builds on years of research and collaboration in the field of male suicide. You can explore some of the research and work that has informed our approach by searching online for "Male Suicide Research".
Interested applications should send the following:
>> An expression of interest explaining the experiences and skills you would bring to the Action on Male Suicide Board, why you’re interested in the role and what motivates you about our mission.
>> A CV of no more than 2 pages, including names and contact details of two referees (that we will only contact after asking permission).
The deadline for submitting applications is 15 August at 9am UK time.
Informal conversations are warmly welcomed before applying!

COMMUNITY MANAGER & SQUAD LEADER (The Heart of SUNSHINE) - VOLUNTEER ROLE
The Spark: Why We Need You
London is one of the most vibrant, fast-paced cities on Earth. Yet underneath the noise, it is facing a quiet crisis. In boroughs like Tower Hamlets, nearly 40% of our neighbors report feeling chronically lonely and isolated. For many, urban isolation is a heavy, daily reality.
We are SUNSHINE, and we are here to smash that isolation with pure, unadulterated, radical positivity!
We don't do boring, clinical forms or awkward networking. Instead, we take over inner London’s public and unused spaces with high-vibrancy pop-ups—bringing bright neon t-shirts, upbeat music, handmade positive quote cards, and literal bubble machines directly to the pavement to turn strangers into neighbours.
We have the vision, the gear, and the strategic roadmap locked down. Now, we need our ultimate host. We need a warm, empathetic, and naturally bubbly Community Manager to nurture our digital group chats, welcome new participants, and lead the squad on the ground!
Your Mission: What You’ll Do
As our founding Community Manager, you will be the bridge between our online spaces and our real-world hangouts. You will be the very heart of the SUNSHINE experience, working to:

You do not need a degree in public relations or corporate hospitality.
We are looking for a human who is:
Why Lead With Us?
Ready to Bring the Sunshine Back to London?
Let’s paint the town yellow together.
To Apply: Please send a brief introductory note and a link to your LinkedIn profile or CV directly through CharityJob. Tell us a little bit about your community background and why you want to be the welcoming face of SUNSHINE!

Could your fundraising expertise help save lives?
The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) is looking for a Trustee with senior fundraising, supporter engagement and income generation experience to join our Board.
This voluntary role is an opportunity to use your expertise to help shape the future of a life-saving charity. As a Trustee, you'll provide strategic oversight, constructive challenge and specialist governance, helping to ensure we can continue delivering critical care to people across the North East, North Yorkshire, Cumbria and the Isle of Man.
You won't be involved in delivering fundraising activity day to day. Instead, you'll work alongside fellow Trustees to scrutinise strategy, monitor performance, oversee risk and ensure our fundraising remains ethical, effective and aligned with our mission.
We're particularly interested in hearing from people with senior experience in fundraising, development, external engagement or income generation within the charity, social enterprise, public benefit or purpose-led sectors.
You will bring experience in:
· Fundraising strategy and income diversification
· Donor stewardship, supporter journeys and campaign planning
· Fundraising governance, compliance and ethical practice
· Board-level thinking, constructive challenge and sound judgement
· Building relationships and acting as an ambassador for a mission-led organisation
You will also share our mission, values, equity, diversity and inclusion, and Nolan’s seven principles of public life.
Time commitment
The Board meets at least four times a year, plus a strategy day. Trustees are encouraged to sit on two Board Committees, with additional contact usually taking place by email, telephone or Microsoft Teams.
