Why do we need you?

At WWT, we believe that the best way for people to understand and ‘connect’ with wetlands is to experience them, so we bring awe-inspiring nature up close.You will be directly involved in shaping children’s unforgettable experiences through the warm welcome you give them, your interactions with them and the information that you provide. We need enthusiastic people to help deliver our education programmes to school groups and in doing so ensure that they feel part of something amazing.

What will you be doing?

•Helping out with school groups as appropriate, bringing their science curriculum to life.

•Engaging pupils in the natural world and helping to foster a love of the outdoors and wetland habitats.

•Interacting with children in a sensitive and responsive manner.

The role will suit you if:

• You have experience in an educational setting (though not essential)
• You are able to work well in a team of staff and volunteers
• You are able to communicate well with a diverse range of audiences
• You are familiar with Washington Wetland Centre - this would be an advantage during the initial stages
• You have a love of the outdoors and enjoy engaging with children

Please note that unfortunately this role is not suitable for Under 18's.

As a charity we can help thousands of cats each year thanks to the generous donations from our supporters. Raising funds is a key role in our charity, helping to raise the vital funds needed to help more cats and kittens in need.

As a fundraising volunteer, we will support you every step of the way to ensure your time at Cats Protection is a positive and rewarding one. Whatever time you can give really does make a big difference We have lots of exciting activities to choose from for example attending a fundraising event, fundraising online, promoting fundraising activities on social media, handling administrative tasks, or contributing to the development of new fundraising ideas. Job Description – HR Manager

Job Purpose

The HR Manager plays a vital role in supporting the vision and mission of Children With Voices by ensuring that all HR practices are fair, compliant, and aligned with safeguarding, equity, and community wellbeing. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources, from recruitment and staff development to compliance and wellbeing initiatives. The HR Manager will be instrumental in creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where staff, volunteers, and young people can thrive.

Key Responsibilities

1. Oversee Daily HR Operations
   • Manage HR functions to ensure efficiency, compliance, and alignment with organisational goals.
   • Champion safeguarding and equality in every aspect of HR practice.
2. Recruitment & Onboarding
   • Lead fair and inclusive recruitment, ensuring diversity, equal opportunity, and alignment with our safeguarding responsibilities.

3. HR Policies & Compliance
   • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures in line with UK employment law, charity governance, and safeguarding legislation.
   • Ensure GDPR compliance and maintain secure, confidential records.
4. Training & Development
   • Coordinate training on safeguarding, equality, diversity, inclusion, and wellbeing.
   • Support ongoing professional and personal development for staff and volunteers.
5. Employee Relations & Wellbeing
   • Provide advice and support on employee concerns, encouraging a culture of respect, accountability, and collaboration.
   • Promote mental health and wellbeing initiatives, aligned with our duty of care.
6. Volunteer Engagement
   • Oversee volunteer recruitment, DBS checks, safeguarding induction, and ongoing engagement.

   • Work closely with the CEO and department leads to ensure HR strategies support the organisation’s mission and goals.

Person Specification

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience in an HR management role, ideally within the charity or community sector.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law, HR compliance, and safeguarding requirements.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust at all levels.
• Experience managing recruitment, onboarding, and training processes.
• Ability to mediate and resolve conflicts in a fair, professional, and sensitive manner.
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and confidentiality.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

• CIPD qualification (Level 5 or above) or equivalent HR certification.

Salary & Benefits - £1,520 per month

Children With Voices is a grassroots children's charity with over 25 years of experience supporting children and families across London. Based at Fawcett Estate Community Hall in Clapton, Hackney, we run a Community Food Hub, alternative education, SEN support, and community programmes including Jumping Beans. We have supported over 100,000 families and are recognised nationally for our work.

ABOUT THIS ROLE

Behind every programme we run and every family we support, there is careful administration keeping everything in order. We are looking for a Volunteer Admin Coordinator to be that backbone — someone who takes ownership of the detail, keeps our systems running, and makes sure the rest of the team can focus on delivery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Day-to-Day Administration

• Manage correspondence, scheduling, and general administrative tasks across the organisation

Operational Support

• Support the Operations Manager with administrative aspects of HR, finance, and governance

The National Youth Advocacy Service is a wonderful children's rights charity dedicated to supporting and empowering young people who have experienced care.

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers in Hereford and surrounding areas to befriend and mentor a young person in care.

• Accurately record attendance, programme data, and beneficiary information

• Support the team in maintaining up-to-date spreadsheets and databases

• Assist with data entry from Food Hub and programme activity records

• Flag any gaps or inconsistencies in records to the Admin & Programme Lead

Volunteer Befriender for young people in care for NYAS -WANTAGE area

Do you want to make a difference to a young person’s life?
Do you have 1- 4 hours per month to spare?
We urgently require volunteer befrienders to be a positive role models for young people living in care. So why not volunteer as a mentor/befriender for NYAS as an Independent Visitor for children and young people in care.

As a volunteer you will:

* Have fun, take young people on outings and maybe share a hobby, sport or interest
* Offer support and a listening ear and be a positive influence in a young person’s life and help build self- esteem and confidence
* You don’t need any special qualifications

Our parenting courses are developed with families, powered by low-cost and accessible technology, backed by rigorous evidence, and delivered within systems. Originally founded as an initiative in 2012 in collaboration with UNICEF and the WHO, Parenting for Lifelong Health was established as a UK charity in 2022 and since then has reached over 8 million families in more than 40 countries. 

PLH is seeking a new trustee with a legal background, particularly for UK-based charities, to strengthen its board. This voluntary position is an opportunity to contribute expertise to an organisation committed to improving the lives of children and families worldwide.

This is also a particularly exciting time to join PLH’s trustee board. Our organisation is pursuing a bold ambition to reach over 15 million parents and 25 million children by 2030, delivering a 40% increase in parental engagement in child development, 45% reduction in family violence, and 30% improvement in mental health.

Role

The Legal Trustee will provide expert advice on legal, regulatory, and governance matters to ensure PLH operates in compliance with relevant laws and best practices. Our leadership team is keen to shape the role with the trustee’s input; examples of support the Legal Trustee could provide include: 

• Ensuring compliance with charity law, data protection regulations, and contractual obligations
• Reviewing and advising on legal agreements, policies, and governance structures
• Providing oversight on risk management and legal aspects of strategic decisions.
• Supporting the board in addressing legal challenges and ethical considerations. 

Responsibilities

In partnership with other trustees, and with the support of PLH senior management, the legal trustee will:

• Ensure that PLH complies with its governing document, UK charity law, and any other relevant legislation or regulations.
• Contribute to the strategic direction of PLH and support its mission and values.
• Oversee financial stability and ensure responsible resource management.
• Provide scrutiny and oversight of PLH’s operations, ensuring accountability and transparency.
• Act as an ambassador for PLH, promoting its work and building relationships with key stakeholders.
• Attend and actively participate in board meetings, contributing to effective decision-making.
• Support risk management by identifying and addressing potential legal and regulatory challenges.

Desired Qualifications

• Qualified legal professional with expertise in charity, corporate, or regulatory law in England.
• Experience in governance, risk management, and compliance.
• Understanding of the legal landscape for non-profits and international organisations.
• Residency in the UK.

Time Commitment

• Trustees are expected to attend quarterly board meetings (virtual or in-person) and contribute additional time for strategic planning, committee meetings, and advisory support as needed.
• The estimated commitment is 6-10 hours per month.

Term & Remuneration

• The term is three years, renewable for an additional term.
• This is a voluntary role, but reasonable expenses will be reimbursed. 

Registered in 1999, Daybreak is a charity whose foundations are in growing the practice of Family Group Conferences in the UK. From this, we have seen the positive impact that occurs when families and communities are empowered to take action when faced with challenging situations.

Who we’re looking for

We are looking to welcome two new members to our Board of Trustees.

To serve as one of Daybreak’s trustees is to play a fundamental role in enabling our charity to pursue its vision, mission, and values. Your contribution to discussions and decision-making at the highest level of our organisation will ensure that we can continue to provide our services to those in need of our support.

The role is more focused on strategy than detail. You will offer crucial guidance and support to management in developing a growth strategy that will allow Daybreak to reach more people and touch more lives.

There is no requirement for you to have experience as a Trustee. All we need is a willingness to use your skills and expertise to support Daybreak, a desire to make a difference for our service users, and a commitment to active participation in the role.

We would especially welcome applications from those with experience in Data, Digital and either Children or Adult Social Services.

The time commitment involved is around thirty hours per year, though a wide range of opportunities to get involved in the Board’s work will be provided. Board meetings are usually held quarterly in Hampshire or online.
