WHAT YOU'LL DO
Over 12 weeks, you'll help us climb Google's rankings for high-impact keywords like "seaweed packaging," "compostable packaging," and "next-generation materials." Your work will directly shape how people discover Sway and, ultimately, how they access alternatives to conventional plastics.

Phase 1 (Weeks 1-3): Audit

• Conduct a comprehensive technical SEO audit of Sway's website (site structure, performance, indexation, user experience)
• Analyze current keyword rankings and competitive positioning
• Identify content gaps and quick-win opportunities
• Deliver a clear, prioritized audit report with recommendations

Phase 2 (Weeks 3-4): Strategy & Roadmap

• Develop a strategic execution plan prioritizing high-impact opportunities
• Recommend on-page, technical, and content improvements
• Identify keyword targets aligned with Sway's business priorities
• Present findings and roadmap to our Marketing & Communications team

Phase 3 (Weeks 4-12): Implementation & Quick Wins

• Implement priority technical SEO improvements (with our team)
• Optimize existing content for target keywords
• Create content briefs for new pages
• Configure Rankmath settings and reporting dashboards
• Track KPIs and share monthly progress updates
• Identify and execute quick wins toward longer-term visibility goals

WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Essential Skills:

• 5+ years of SEO experience with proven results (rankings, organic traffic growth)
• Expertise of technical SEO (Core Web Vitals, crawlability, structured data)
• Proficiency with Google Search Console, Google Analytics 4, and competitive analysis tools (SEMrush, Ahrefs)
• Fluency in SEO for Wordpress (site structure, plugin management, performance)
• Ability to audit, strategize, and execute independently
• Clear communication with non-technical stakeholders

Desirable Skills:

• Experience with Rankmath or Semplice (platforms Sway uses within Wordpress)
• B2B or sustainability sector SEO experience
• Portfolio or case studies showing measurable SEO wins
• Interest in material science, climate tech, or sustainability

Aim of this role
Research and Campaigns volunteers support our work to change the policies and practice that affect the lives of our clients.

As an R&C volunteer, you will be a part of the R&C team. You will:

• complete an induction to Citizens Advice and training for your role

• keep up-to-date with trends of the concerns affecting clients locally as well as areas identified by national Citizens Advice, and raise call for evidence

• research and gather quality information on key issues affecting local residents

• ensure all volunteers/staff are aware of the purpose of Research and Campaigns and how to write evidence forms

• produce useful, appealing and easily accessible campaign materials and publications for information purposes

• feed back to assessors and advisers on the results of their work and provide them with assistance in completing evidence forms

• help national Citizens Advice to carry out research about how certain issues affect clients in your local area

• gather case studies and client stories

• ensure that equality, diversity and inclusion are promoted in our R&C work

• adhere to Citizens Advice Merton and Lambeth’s (CAML) aims and principles

• comply with all relevant GDPR rules and regulations

Locations

This role is based in our Mitcham office with some occasional traveling to our other offices in Morden and Kennington. All three offices are well-connected to public transport, and the office in Mitcham has a car park.

We will reimburse all reasonable out of pocket travel and lunch expenses.

• excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential

• understanding of the importance of Research and Campaigns work in identifying key current social issues, and their potential impact on clients

• the ability to give feedback clearly and sensitively

• good report-writing skills with the ability to condense important information and explain to a range of audiences. Able to research, analyse and explain complex information

• good organisational and time management skills with the ability to work towards set deadlines

• ability to work on own initiative, within given guidelines

• confidence in using a range of IT software to research and analyse data

Satisfactory references are required before joining the charity.

We are looking for volunteers who are able come to our office for at least one day per week.

We are looking to recruit a Youth Programme Coordinator, for a minimum commitment of 6 months, to manage our Youth Programme. The Youth Programme works with young refugees and asylum seekers in the Epirus region of Northern Greece, providing them with a sense of community and experiences that they wouldn’t otherwise receive!

In this role,  you would be coordinating the daily planning and delivery of activities for young refugees in the sites in which we're operating in the Epirus region of Northern Greece.

The programme usually consists of English classes, thematic and social and emotional learning workshops and excursions. The programme engages children between the ages of 8 and 16.

For this role, you would initially work as a Youth Programme team member so that you could develop an understanding of the programme, the people involved, and the organisation as a whole.

Your role would include:

• Coordinating, delegating, and managing a team of 2-5 team members in the daily operations of the Youth Programme

• Directly supervising and supporting team members, providing feedback to ensure the quality of the programme remains high

• Delivering effective inductions to transfer key skills/knowledge to team members

• Developing the current programme in coordination with the Education Manager and Youth Programme team members

• Assessing the impact and effectiveness of the programme in line with its objectives

• Planning and delivering effective and dynamic educational and outdoor activities, within a theme-based curriculum

• Training new team members in appropriate behavioural management techniques

• Capturing data and compiling evaluation reports on the programme

You should be able to:

• Prioritise and delegate tasks effectively

• Manage a wide range of tasks and intense workload effectively and efficiently 

• Manage individuals effectively to create a positive team environment in which shared problem solving is encouraged

• Oversee the delivery of programme activities and the completion of vital administrative and logistical tasks
