Job description

C.A.S.P urgently requires additional support to help secure funding that will enable the charity to continue operating and delivering essential services to children and families in need.

We are looking for enthusiastic Volunteer Fundraisers / Bid Writers to support the CEO in identifying funding opportunities and preparing high-quality grant applications to Trusts, Foundations, and other funding bodies. Volunteers will also work collaboratively with our senior management team to help develop and implement a robust fundraising strategy and support community fundraising initiatives.

Purpose of the Role

C.A.S.P urgently requires additional support to help secure funding that will enable the charity to continue operating and delivering essential services to children and families in need.

We are looking for enthusiastic Volunteer Fundraisers / Bid Writers to support the CEO in identifying funding opportunities and preparing high-quality grant applications to Trusts, Foundations, and other funding bodies. Volunteers will also work collaboratively with our senior management team to help develop and implement a robust fundraising strategy and support community fundraising initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and identify suitable funding opportunities, grants, trusts, foundations, and institutional funders.
  • Prepare and submit compelling funding applications, bids, and proposals.
  • Support the development of a diverse and sustainable fundraising portfolio.
  • Work collaboratively with staff and volunteers within the Fundraising Working Group.
  • Assist with planning and delivering fundraising activities and events to generate additional income for the charity.
  • Maintain and update fundraising databases and records accurately.
  • Help improve organisational cash flow through successful income generation initiatives.
  • Contribute ideas and strategies to strengthen long-term fundraising sustainability.

Skills and Experience

We are looking for individuals who are:

  • Passionate about supporting children, families, and the local community.
  • Interested in developing knowledge across a range of fundraising areas.
  • Strong analytical thinkers with good research skills.
  • Confident communicators with excellent written and verbal English skills.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office or similar software to prepare reports, proposals, and applications.
  • Able to build and manage positive stakeholder relationships.
  • Knowledgeable about the charity sector and the challenges facing small charities.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently using their own initiative.
