Our volunteers are a fundamental part of our shops. Any time which they volunteer at our shops, help us be there for more people who are experiencing a mental health problem.
About the volunteer role
To provide our volunteers with opportunities to gain a variety of skills and experience, we offer them a range of volunteer roles to choose from, which include:
- Stock preparation volunteer
- Volunteer shop sales assistant
- Volunteer stock generation assistant
- Volunteer window dresser/Merchandiser
- Specialist knowledge volunteer (antiques and collectables)
- Specialist knowledge volunteer (books and entertainment)
- Housekeeping volunteer
Key tasks
There is a variety of tasks within the above mentioned roles that our volunteers get involved with, including:
- Welcoming and assisting customers with their purchases, providing them with great customer service and a delightful shopping experience
- Receiving donated items from members of the public
- Sorting, steaming, tagging and preparing donated items for sale
- Creating visually appealing window and in-store displays
- Keeping the shop floor well stocked, clean and coordinated
- Processing sales and serving at the till
- Signing up gift aid donors
- Stock rotation
- Identifying special or valuable items within donated stock

Calling all animal lovers! We're looking for passionate volunteers to join Team Teckels at our charity shop in Stroud.
Teckels rescue, rehabilitate and rehome hundreds of vulnerable cats and dogs every year. Your support in our charity shop will make a massive impact on their lives, helping to raise valuable funds towards their care.
We have customer facing and non-customer facing roles available, so there is something to suit everyone. You could be welcoming customers, helping them with their purchases and putting sales through the till. Or helping out the back preparing donations ready for sale, merchandising, and making sure everything looks its best.
We welcome volunteers whenever the shop is open between 9am-5pm Tuesday-Saturday. Most volunteers do a morning 9am-1pm or afternoon 1pm-5pm shift, but we can be flexible to suit you and your other committments.

The role in a nutshell:
We are looking for volunteers to help in our network of Age UK Cheshire shops throughout Cheshire. We have shops in Northwich, Macclesfield, Alderley Edge, Knutsford, Crewe, Ellesmere Port, Sandbach, Frodsham and Poynton. You will meet new people daily and have some fun while helping raise funds to help local older people in Cheshire.
What will you be doing?
Retail Volunteers carry out a wide range of tasks in our shop. You might be sorting and pricing stock, engaging with customers, ringing items through the till or keeping our shop floor full and organised. You will meet and assist customers while raising funds which go directly to helping older people in Cheshire. You will gain useful retail skills and work experience for a recognised, valued and effective charity.
How would you be supported in this role?
Our retail volunteers receive an initial induction into the work and policies of our charity and then specific training on tasks within the shop.
Why do we need volunteers in this role?
Age UK Cheshire operates charity shops to raise funds for the delivery of services for older people in need in Cheshire. Volunteers play a key role in the shop team, ensuring our shops are welcoming places in the community and selling the items that are generously donated to our charity.
What skills, interests or experience might be helpful in this role?
•Interested in people and able to communicate and make customers feel welcome
•An interest in the shop, and an enthusiasm for raising money through its work.
•The ability to work as part of a team

Oxfam Till Volunteers Wigton, Cumbria

We’re seeking friendly, reliable individuals aged 18 or over who want to make a
difference in their community. No prior experience is needed, as we provide
full training. If you’re open to learning, enjoy working with others, and have a

You have the time to become a volunteer in your community; you might be
looking for work experience, the opportunity to meet new people, or keep active.
When:
· Monday to Saturday and Sundays – Am/Pm – 4 hours or just even 2 hours we are very flexible.
What you will be doing:
· Chatting to Customers - giving great customer service on the till.
· Operating the Till
· Keeping the shop floor clean and tidy
· Accepting donations from members of the public
· Assisting with stocking the shop floor
· Full Training and support are given for this role – no prior experience necessary.
What's in it for you:
· Lunch expenses paid for 5 hours or more volunteered in one shift up to £7.00
· Travel expenses are paid when travelling by bus, parking expenses are paid if driving and petrol expenses are paid at the discretion of the Shop Manager.

Our volunteers help us fund lifesaving science to improve the lives of families and loved ones living with heart and circulatory disease. Volunteering with us is easy, flexible, and inclusive. Our Sales Floor Volunteers are the first point of contact for customers when they enter our charity shop. Gatwick Aviation Museum is seeking enthusiastic and flexible Volunteers to join their coffee shop team on a regular basis, either Friday, Saturday or Sunday each week. Job share would be considered.
Location: Gatwick Aviation Museum, Charlwood, Surrey, RH6 0BT
Salary: Unremunerated.
Minimum age is 16.
Gatwick Aviation Museum is a registered Charity and welcomes a wide variety of visitors each year, who are able to enjoy the varied collection of incredible aircraft and exhibits on display.
The Museum is currently open to the public on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays 10am to 5pm, although we regularly welcome groups of all ages for tours and events during the week or in the evenings. We also host a number of different events throughout the year from car shows to cinema nights and open for extended periods during the School holidays. So additional cover in the coffee shop would be required to help out during those busy times.
We want every visit to our museum to be a very special one. As our visitor numbers increase, we need the support of additional volunteers to join our friendly team who go out of their way to ensure our customers have a memorable experience. Duties will include:-
- Welcoming customers with a friendly attitude;
- Serving hot and cold food and drinks to customers;
- Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in all areas, including equipment;
- Using till and processing payments, handling card and cash transactions;
- Ensuring stock on display is replenished, maintaining inventory levels reporting any shortages to the Manager;
You don't need prior experience as training will be provided (including Level 2 Food Hygiene and Safety, First Aid, Fire Safety). Just bring your enthusiasm, be keen to learn and feel confident in a customer facing role. An enhanced DBS check will also be carried out.
