Support Ikoku in creating digital content for the Iko-Rehab fundraising campaign aimed at mobilising financial and in-kind support ahead of our visit to Naguru Children’s Remand Home on 12th June 2026.
Role

• Create engaging social media content for the campaign
• Design visuals including carousels, posters, and short-form videos
• Develop creative edits and storytelling content
• Support online visibility and engagement for the fundraiser

Role description attached provides more information on the role and responsibilities.   For this Trustee role we are particularly seeking individuals with demonstrable  experience in Child protection from the perspective of the Family Court, in particular with insights into safeguarding.

Commitment

• Each year, our Trustees are expected to attend four regular board meetings, from 5 to 7 pm in Central London. In addition, Trustees would attend potentially four meetings of any sub-committee of which they are a member. Further time is required for reading of papers before meetings.
• You would also receive invitations to various Childhood First events in the communities, which are optional but strongly encouraged to help better understand the work and feel a connection to the charity.
• We are particularly cognisant of the need to be flexible in the demands we make of Trustee colleagues. Each year there is an opportunity to meet with the Chair for mutual feedback and to discuss ways in which Trustees might wish to develop their roles.​

Successful candidates will be invited to attend a board meeting will be on 15 September 2026 in Central London.

Coordinator Volunteer - Read Easy Leeds

Are you an enthusiastic volunteer looking for a new role where you'll be able to use your organisation and people skills to really make a difference? Are you passionate about helping others? Could you be part of someone’s journey towards learning to read?

Read Easy Leeds is a local charity that provides free, confidential, one-to-one reading coaching for adults who struggle with reading. As part of the Read Easy UK network, we help adults improve their reading skills, confidence and opportunities in life. We are looking to expand our work and are seeking new Coordinators to join our friendly team.

This voluntary position would be ideal for someone with strong organisational and problem-solving skills, alongside excellent people skills and a friendly, caring nature. If you enjoy helping others and finding practical solutions, this could be the perfect role for you.

Being a Coordinator is a vital and rewarding role within the Read Easy Leeds team. You will meet adults who want to learn to read and interview volunteer Reading Coaches. You will then pair Readers with Coaches and provide ongoing support, alongside our Literacy Specialist, checking in regularly to ensure that both Reader and Coach are progressing well. You will play an important role in helping the group continue to thrive and grow.

You do not need previous experience, and you do not need to have volunteered as a Reading Coach first. Full training and support will be provided by Read Easy UK, and you will work alongside an enthusiastic and supportive team.

The role is flexible and can largely be carried out from home. However, you will need to make occasional visits to reading pairs at venues across Leeds and attend occasional in-person meetings.

You can choose your own hours and the number of reading pairs you support. Most Coordinators spend around 3 to 5 hours per week in the role. Some daytime and evening availability is essential. To get the most from the role, we ask Coordinators to commit to supporting Read Easy Leeds for at least one year.

CARA is looking for a female Advocacy Volunteer to support our Advocacy Co-ordinator in providing advocacy support to victims and survivors of any kind of sexual violence. You would have an allocated case load, and work would include support around housing, finances, health, domestic abuse and other issues. The volunteer will be line-managed by CARA’s Advocacy Manager and will work alongside the very friendly CARA team.

Our Advocacy team support CARA’s clients with a wide range of advocacy issues. The main tasks are to hold a small caseload and support victims and survivors of sexual violence with:

· Accessing benefits, including filling in forms.

· Accessing services, including mental health, housing and legal services, and accompanying to appointments, if necessary.

· Providing and signposting to financial support and debt advice.

· Accessing appropriate support at school / college/work.

· Emotional support, including aspects of self-care strategies and psycho education.

· Providing occasional support for CARA’s face to face and/or online social group

Support young people in exploring technology, design, and innovation through activities such as 3D printing, digital design, maker projects, coding, and creative problem-solving. Volunteers will assist staff in delivering engaging sessions that encourage curiosity, experimentation, and learning in a safe environment.

What will you be doing?

Governing bodies are responsible for the strategic management of a school and will make decisions about a wide range of issues

A school governing body is made up of representatives from the school, the parents, and the local community.

What are we looking for?

This vacancy is for a Primary School and nursery (ages 3-11).  The school would ideally like to find someone who has experience in safeguarding and anti-bullying.

You must be over 18, but you don’t need to be a parent or have children of school age. Often, it’s the outside perspective you can bring that a school needs. Professional experience in areas such as safe guarding, change management, and leadership skills are all useful to a school. Soft skills such as communication and problem solving are also great additions.

What difference will you make?

Governors make decisions that affect schools for years to come. Chair of Governors work in partnership with Head Teachers and the Senior Management Team to help deliver the best possible education, and help children realise their expectations and aspirations.

Our recent impact survey found that our volunteers bring £9.9 million worth of value to schools each year, and 9/10 volunteers would recommend being a governor to a friend.

As a chair of governors, you will be encouraged to visit the school to gain an understanding of the culture and ethos and to get the most out of the role. You’ll also have the opportunity to meet children, parents, and teachers, and see the impact of your work first-hand.

About the role

UK Feminista is looking for people committed to feminism and women’s equality to join our volunteer Board of Directors.

Founded in 2010, UK Feminista is a charitable organisation working for a society free from sexism and violence against women and girls. We campaign for systemic change so that women can enjoy their rights as enshrined in the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women. We exist to tackle the root causes of sex inequality. The role of the Board of Directors is to:  

• Take legal and financial responsibility in order to safeguard the assets and the continuity of UK Feminista.  

• Be satisfied that financial information is accurate and that financial management systems and controls are robust and defensible.  

• Ensure that UK Feminista complies with its Articles of Association, company law and other relevant legislation and regulations.

Level of commitment 

UK Feminista is a small organisation, so this is a hands-on Board Member role. As well as four 90-minute online board meetings a year and attending an annual in-person Away Day in London, Board Members attend additional adhoc meetings, events and provide organisational support as needed. 

UK Feminista is a non-profit company limited by guarantee. No one on the Board of Directors is personally liable. 

Support young people to create podcasts, interviews, recordings, and digital media projects. Volunteers will help facilitate discussions, encourage creativity, support technical activities, and assist young people in developing communication and storytelling skills.

Do you want to make a real impact on the lives of vulnerable individuals in your community?

We are looking for Client Support Volunteers to assist in the Garden alongside our horticulturists in the supervision of our adult clients and teenagers with a variety of disabilities.

Our volunteers work in the garden with clients, helping them with various tasks such as planting, harvesting, pruning and mowing to name a few, under the guidance of our team of horticulturists. 

As well as general gardening work you will be assisting our clients, both children and adults with the opportunity to achieve a qualification in horticulture.

Other tasks our volunteers help with include general garden maintenance, DIY tasks or craft/cookery activities.

No gardening experience is required, just the ability to get along with others and muck in! This can be a great stepping stone to further education or work opportunities.

At present, we are looking for Volunteers who can offer a regular weekly commitment.
