Engagement outreach volunteer roles

We are looking for up to ten UK university students to join our volunteer Student Ambassadors team and help Ygam achieve its social purpose by reaching out to students at university. This will be achieved by advising Ygam on the needs of students, supporting with content development, organising activities at your campus, and join us at events to raise awareness of gaming and gambling harms.

We are seeking individuals who are outgoing, with a confident personality. You will enjoy engaging with other students and be able to advise us on the experiences of students with regards to gaming and gambling.

In this role, you will be:

• Delivering talks to groups of sighted people about your lived experience of sight loss to challenge their perceptions and behaviours. Audiences will vary but may include local businesses, community, faith and voluntary groups.

• Making links with your own existing groups and networks in your local community that may want to be involved in reducing barriers to blind and partially sighted people.
• Building relationships with people or local businesses you know.
• Taking part in and sharing information about specific campaigns and initiatives to help remove barriers to blind and partially sighted people.
• Delivering talks on behalf of RNIB’s Social Action Team.

As a Community Change Champion, this will involve:

• Talking directly with community leaders, businesses, & local groups about ways they can get involved & inviting them to join an Awareness to Action session.
• Delivering RNIB’s Awareness to Action sessions either in person or online, using our resources. You may do this on your own or with a team of other local volunteers, both sighted and with sight loss.
• Sharing RNIB’s information & initiatives so people know we’re here for them.
• If you have a personal link to sight loss, sharing your experience during the session to help give a tangible example of how local people can make a real difference.
• Telling us about any activities you have engaged in via a Microsoft form.

What will you gain from the role?
• First-hand experience in grassroots community engagement & charity outreach.
• The opportunity to develop communication & networking skills.
• Support to learn & or use presentation skills to deliver the Awareness to Action Session in person and virtually.

Role Description

This role sits within our Men’s Minds project, based in Hounslow. The aim of the service is to improve men’s mental health outcomes by developing a mental health network supported and directed by the voices of its members.

This will be achieved through three service strands: 1) Peer support network, 2) Psychoeducation workshops, addressing common needs of men’s mental health 3) Outreach support to raise awareness of men’s mental health and promote this service.

The role of the Outreach Volunteer will be to support the Project Coordinator with engagement activities with the local community, increase awareness of our activities with local groups and to encourage new participants to attend. We would expect you physically attend community events to promote our groups and encourage new participants to join.
 

We are looking for someone who

• Has lived experience of mental health challenges
• Are a non-judgmental and friendly individual
• To be able to provide a welcoming, authentic, and positive experience for all, being inclusive and embracing diversity
• To feel comfortable engaging with people with mental health challenges / difficult life experiences, by validating strengths and experiences and using empowering language to overcome negative self-talk

Time commitment and expenses

• Flexible hours between Monday, Wednesday and Thursdays.
• We will provide volunteers with an induction, training, and ongoing mentoring to support them in the role.

The Women & Families Resource Centre (WFRC) is a registered charity based in Wolverhampton which supports, empowers and advocates for women and children. We aim to actively encourage women to be self-reliant, through empowering them to identify their own needs, make their own choices and create their own solutions.
We offer short term home visits, counselling sessions, baby bank, practical & emotional One to One support, Domestic violence groups, Awareness raising workshops and drop in or chat groups to help women facing crises or challenging situations.

Purpose
To manage and grow our social media presence through creative content, audience engagement, and analysing audience engagement to help amplify WFRC’s mission.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Help create, implement, and maintain a social media strategy and content plan
• Use social media platforms to promote the activities, impact, and achievements of WFRC

Qualifications:

• Experience using content creation and design tools such as Canva, CapCut, Adobe Express, or similar platforms is an advantage.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to create engaging content for diverse audiences.
• Creative thinking skills with the ability to develop new ideas, campaigns, and promotional content.
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with staff, volunteers, and community members.

Art Explora is a non-profit arts organisation that aims to share arts and culture with everyone - locally, nationally and internationally - and inspire new encounters between arts and audiences.

Arts at Home supports older people to access arts and culture by encouraging conversation and connection through art. We are looking for volunteers to participate in our "Arts at Home" sessions in residential care homes. In these sessions, you will introduce works of art of your choice and facilitate conversations around the artworks with residents. No prior professional experience is needed; we will provide you with the necessary training.

You will need to be able to travel to Birmingham locations independently (pre agreed local travel expenses paid).

The Community Ambassador Volunteer role is a flexible, people-focused role where you'll represent MumsAid at local events, community fairs, business engagement opportunities, and awareness-raising activities. Acting as a friendly and knowledgeable ambassador, you'll help share information about our services, fundraising activities, and volunteering opportunities, helping more people learn about MumsAid. 

No previous experience is required. We will provide training, resources, and ongoing support to help you feel confident representing MumsAid in your community.
