We’re looking for up to three Trustees to help guide Hackney Empire through an exciting period of growth, creativity and deepened community impact.
As a member of our Board, you will play a vital strategic role in shaping the future of Hackney Empire. You’ll support our mission to empower young people, champion diverse artistic voices, and strengthen our connections within our local community and the wider cultural landscape.
We’re particularly keen to hear from individuals who share our values, have strong strategic and advocacy skills, and bring experience in arts management, fundraising, legal practice, heritage/buildings projects, or digital and social media strategy, as well as people whose lived experience reflects the communities we serve.

Overview:
Drive the charity’s income growth by leading fundraising, partnerships, and donor engagement to secure sustainable funding for programmes and community work.

As our LGBT+ Community Space Volunteer, you will support the lead facilitator to run inclusive and creative employability workshops that support LGBT+ young adults (aged 18-30) to build confidence, develop soft skills, and strengthen social connections with fellow peers.
You will help create a welcoming, supportive environment where our services users feel safe enough to express themselves, establish a sense of belonging, and engage in creative learning.
You will be working collaboratively with other team members of Blossom to play a key role in delivering engaging, accessible sessions that center community, creativity, and both personal and professional growth.
You will also be offered the opportunity to get involved with further “Train the Trainer” sessions to develop your own skills to help strengthen your facilitation and leadership.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1) Workshop Delivery
Support the lead facilitator with running the workshops (e.g. using creative methods to develop essential employability skills) based on the brief by the Head of Programmes & Services.
Create a welcoming, inclusive, and neurodiverse-friendly environment
Support participants to engage, connect, and build confidence
Encourage open and respectful communication
2) Session Setup & Support
Support the lead faciliator to set up and pack down workshop activities and materials
Maintain a clean, safe, and organised space
Ensure resources are used safely and kept in good condition
Completing evaluation assessments and record keeping
3) Safeguarding & Wellbeing
Support the safety and wellbeing of all of our service users
Raise any safeguarding concerns in line with procedures
Provide appropriate support and signposting where needed
4) Planning & Collaboration
Share ideas for future workshop ideas based on the response and engagement from the service users
ABOUT YOU:
We’re looking for someone proactive, reliable, and ready to get stuck in. You don’t need lots of experience — attitude and passion matters most.

Pró-Onça Institute empowers Cerrado communities to restore critical habitats, monitor biodiversity, and promote sustainable human-wildlife coexistence.
The Brazilian Cerrado, one of the world's most biodiverse savannas, is vanishing at an alarming rate due to large-scale agriculture. This habitat loss fragments the landscape, isolating large carnivores like jaguars and driving them into dangerous conflicts with local farmers. Furthermore, the rural communities living closest to these ecosystems—particularly women and youth—are often excluded from conservation leadership and lack the resources to protect their land against the intensifying threats of drought and wildfires.
Pró-Onça Institute addresses these crises through a locally driven model that transforms communities into active conservation partners across four integrated pillars. We train rural women and youth in high-tech biodiversity monitoring—using camera traps and GPS to track wildlife and reduce predator conflicts—while establishing community nurseries to restore native vegetation corridors that reconnect fragmented habitats. Through flagship initiatives like "Jaguar Women for Climate & Conservation," we provide the leadership training and employment needed for local women to head restoration efforts, all while using professional storytelling and art to amplify community voices and foster global engagement. The role: Impact Finance & Fundraising Strategist
