We are a community-driven charity dedicated to supporting asylum seekers and refugees as they rebuild their lives with dignity, hope, and belonging. Our Social Hub offers a welcoming space where individuals and families can connect, access support, learn new skills, and build friendships.

Role Overview:

As a Social Hub Administrator, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of our weekly Social Hub. You'll help manage basic admin tasks, support event and activity planning, and act as a friendly, organised point of contact for both visitors, clients and volunteers.

Key Responsibilities:

· Welcome clients to the hub and provide general information about services and activities.

· Maintain up-to-date records of attendance, volunteer rotas, and bookings.

· Help coordinate schedules for activities, workshops, and social events.

· Support communications by helping with newsletters, flyers, and social media posts (optional).

· Assist with keeping the space tidy and organised.

· Apply for Social Hub expenses.

· Manage the Tuesday Social Hub when the Social Hub Coordinator is not present.

· Collaborate with volunteers, staff, and clients to create a warm, inclusive environment.

We are seeking an enthusiastic volunteer to assist our Client Service Administrator on Reception in hosting our busy reception area and friendly waiting room. In this role, you will use your excellent interpersonal skills to welcome clients and visiting professionals and other volunteers to the Helen Bamber Foundation, making them feel comfortable, attending to any immediate needs they may have, assisting them with their queries and notifying clinicians and other staff of their arrival.

You will be at the heart of an exciting, team of experts working as a representative of the Helen Bamber Foundation and the first point of contact for our diverse range of clients and visitors.  You will be a self-motivating team player, organised, efficient and have a compassionate mind-set. 

Main tasks and activities

• Greeting clients and ensuring that clients are having their immediate needs met;
• Ensuring the reception is well-presented;
• Answering the phone and responding to a wide range of enquiries;
• Maintaining the shared Outlook calendar and co-ordinating room allocations;
• Ensuring the smooth running of the day-to-day activities;
• General office administration including: ordering of office supplies, entering data, filing and organising office supplies storage etc;

Who are LRMN?

We offer refugees, asylum seekers and other migrants a specialist and holistic service. We advocate for people’s rights, campaign for wider change, meet their basic needs and help them improve their wellbeing.

Why do we need you?

The Women Together Project supports refugee and asylum-seeking women who have experienced trauma, including Gender-Based Violence (rape, torture, FGM, forced marriage, domestic violence etc.). We are a member of the BACP and adhere to the BACP Ethical Framework. Our approach is broadly integrative, drawing on woman-centred/ feminist, holistic, cross-cultural and mind-body perspectives.

The project consists of 1-1 counselling and advocacy and a weekly women’s nurture/ health group. 

We are currently seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and committed female volunteer counsellor to support our work.

What activities will you be involved in?

As a Volunteer Counsellor, you will:

• Offer 1-1 counselling to women from diverse cultures and backgrounds who have experienced trauma, including gender-based violence (this may involve working with an interpreter). This can be done at LRMN’s office or remotely as per clients’ need.

• Meet and maintain our standards regarding confidentiality and equal opportunities, and manage and be accountable for your own work.

• Keep accurate and up-to-date records of all counselling interventions on file and/or electronically.

• Carry out monitoring and evaluation tasks as advised by the Women’s Project Manager.

• Attend team meetings and contribute to information-sharing and discussion around best practice.

• Incorporate project approaches into practice – eg holistic/ feminist/ cross-cultural theories.

• Undertake training in areas relevant to VAWG, refugee and asylum policy and own professional development.

• Work flexibly and from a human rights perspective, remaining open to the challenges faced by this client group.

• Communicate effectively with other members of the therapeutic team and LRMN advice teams, making effective and sensitive referrals where necessary.

• Undertake own clinical supervision either in house or externally.

You will be provided with the training (not clinical) needed to perform the role and will have the opportunity to join training with the whole LRMN team.

Job summary:

The main services of the charity are a drop-in session and social hub every Tuesday (at St Mary’s Church in central Watford), ESOL classes, providing advice and financial support to its clients and assisting them to integrate into the local community.

The Partnership has grown dramatically over the past 5 years, which is why we are looking for a Chair to join us. WTRRP is run by a committee that meets typically every 1-2 months and it also provides supervision to our 3 staff members and support to our 70 volunteers.

About WAST

We are a grassroots organisation led-by and for women seeking asylum in Greater Manchester. We campaign for social justice and women's rights through a peer-led support model that helps women find their place in the UK. Women seeking asylum continue to live in a hostile environment where they often feel vulnerable and isolated. WAST (Women Asylum Seekers Together) seeks to combat this by offering a safe space where women can be heard, build confidence, and develop new skills.

The Roles

Due to the retirement of three long-standing trustees, we are recruiting four women to join our diverse Board of Trustees and help us deliver projects that the women themselves have identified as priorities.

One of these positions is for a Treasurer, who will support the Board in overseeing the charity’s finances, ensuring strong financial management and sustainability.

We are also particularly interested in recruiting more Trustees with lived experience of the asylum system, or the immigration system. WAST’s Chair and Honorary Chair have lived experience, and we would very much value more women with lived experience on our board. 

The current Board have a diverse range of skills. We particularly welcome applications from women with experience of campaigning, fundraising or human resources. However, this should not put off any potential applicants who may bring other qualities to the Board.

You can choose the areas that best suit your skills and interests. The role is flexible, and volunteers may opt to support one area or several.

1. Stock & Donations Management

• Sort donated items to ensure they are appropriate for sale or event use.
• Organise and manage stock ahead of upcoming events.
• Monitor stock levels and identify when outreach or additional donations are needed.

2. Event Support

• Attend fundraising events, engaging confidently with the public and sharing information about our work.
• Assist with setting up equipment and displays and help with packing away after events.
• Ensure stalls are well presented, welcoming, and visually engaging.
• Support sales of merchandise and the running of games/activities.
• Take photographs throughout the event for promotional use and reporting.
• Observe and record visitor numbers, engagement levels, and which stall features attract attention.
• (Optional) Act as a Stall Leader, taking the lead on the day to coordinate volunteers and ensure a smooth event.

3. Transport & Logistics

• Transport equipment, displays, and stock to and from event venues (using your own vehicle if appropriate).
• Help with stall setup upon arrival at the venue.

4. Admin Coordination

This is a key support role that helps keep the fundraising function organised and running smoothly.

• Booking events and completing relevant forms.
• Maintain a current contact list of volunteers.
• Manage and update volunteer availability rotas.
• Keep the fundraising project spreadsheet accurate and up to date.
• Update the “cat book” or event information pack ahead of each event.

What We’re Looking For

• Friendly, confident communicators who enjoy speaking with the public.
• Organised, reliable volunteers who can work both independently and as part of a team.
• Individuals happy to support practical tasks such as setting up stalls or sorting stock.
• Volunteers with basic administrative skills (for those taking on admin coordination).
• A willingness to try new things and get involved in a variety of event activities.
• Ability to carry light–moderate items for event setup (helpful, but not essential).

Time Commitment

This is a highly flexible role and can fit around your other commitments. Whether you can spare occasional hours for events or prefer a regular admin-based role, your contribution will make a meaningful difference.
