Our community events give older residents a much-needed chance to get out, connect and feel part of something special. As an events volunteer, you’ll help create these warm and inclusive spaces — setting up, greeting guests, supporting activities and chatting with attendees.

evSome volunteers also help drive people to and from events, making sure everyone can take part, whatever their circumstances.

​We have volunteers from a wide range of backgrounds and communities fulfilling various different roles. We wouldn’t be able to deliver our services without the help of these amazing volunteers who generously give their time, energy and skills to enable us to provide our clients with the services, care and support they deserve.

Each year, our volunteers design and create bespoke equipment free of charge for more than 3,000 disabled people across the UK. From simple adaptations that restore confidence to complex custom solutions that change daily life, every project starts with listening to the individual.

As we continue to grow our impact, we’re now recruiting new Trustees to join our Board.

We’re particularly interested in people with experience in:
• Finance and strategic oversight 
• Health and clinical practice, especially Occupational Therapy
• Lived experience of being disabled or caring for someone with a disability

Experience in charity or nonprofit finance is particularly valuable, especially in fund stewardship, governance, and financial resilience, but we also welcome applicants from commercial or public-sector backgrounds who bring strong financial leadership skills.

Or do you have a clinical and health background, particularly as an Occupational Therapist, to bring professional insight to our Board? Your experience can help shape safe, effective, person-centred solutions at a national level and strengthen how we work alongside health professionals.

We are keen to hear from disabled people and carers who can bring lived experience to our Board, helping ensure everything we do at REMAP remains grounded in real needs and real lives.

You don’t need previous board experience. We’re looking for people who bring insight, curiosity, and a commitment to strong governance and inclusive services.

Join us a mediation volunteer! You will have the chance to help your local community and gain full mediation training accredited by the Civil Mediation Council.

North Hampshire Mediation Partnership with Citizens Advice Rushmoor offer a free and confidential service helping local residents resolve disputes and improve communication. Our trained volunteer mediators work with neighbours, families and individuals to support peaceful resolutions and stronger community relationships.

Mediations typically take place a couple of times a month, so it isn’t a regular weekly commitment. Instead, we ask for flexibility and a willingness to support the service as and when required. Some clients can only attend sessions in the evening, and while weekend work is rare, it may occasionally be needed. It is a meaningful and rewarding role where you can make a real difference, develop valuable skills and be part of a supportive team.

We are looking for a Social Media Community Officer to help manage engagement across our social media platforms.

This role focuses on responding to comments and messages, supporting our online community, and helping maintain a respectful and safe space for discussion.

You will work closely with our social media and safeguarding teams to ensure interactions are handled professionally and responsibly.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor comments, replies, and direct messages across social media platforms

• Respond to community questions and engagement in a professional and respectful tone

• Help maintain a safe and respectful online environment

• Flag safeguarding concerns or harmful content to the appropriate team members

• Support healthy and positive community discussions

• Share feedback and insights from the community with the wider team

What We’re Looking For

• Experience in social media engagement, community management, moderation, or customer support

• Strong written communication skills

• Ability to handle sensitive conversations with professionalism and empathy

• Reliable, responsible, and comfortable following safeguarding guidelines

• Interest in social impact, advocacy, or community work

Experience with platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, or LinkedIn is helpful but not essential.

Training & Support

You will receive guidance on:

• escalation procedures

You will always have team support when handling complex situations.

Volunteer With Us – Make a Real Difference in East London

Be part of something meaningful across East London, with most activities taking place in Barking and Dagenham. Our volunteers support young people through music, creativity and community projects, from after-school clubs to outreach and local events.

Many roles involve in-person support, particularly community outreach such as flyer distribution and engagement with local residents. For this reason, we are especially looking for volunteers who can travel to Barking and Dagenham regularly.

Are you a qualified Yoga Instructor who would enjoy facilitating weekly sessions to help individuals with their general well-being. This is an opportunity for you to share techniques with others.

Practicing yoga has been shown to increase mindfulness not just in class session, but in other areas of a person's life.

What you will be doing

• Design session plans enabling all group members to increase fitness, suppleness and help them relax
• Teach the group yoga postures and breathing techniques which allow a range of mixed ages and abilities to participate
• Inspire and motivate people to attend and get involved in the group activities where possible and encourage the group to help design future sessions
• Keep a record of attendees, provide feedback and report any concerns to the staff team

Dacorum Citizens Advice is seeking additional trustees to join the board.

We are a charity that supports residents of Dacorum providing free, confidential, impartial advice through a team of paid staff and highly trained volunteers

What will you be doing?

Being a free advice provider our services are in great demand and client need is only likely to increase.  With our Centre team expanding to cope with this we need to recruit additional trustees with experience of managing whether a business, charity or people. The skills that we are particularly looking to gain on our Trustee Board are in Marketing & Communications, HR and in Fundraising.

We are looking for a Volunteer Analytics & Distribution Officer to support our Podcast Production Team.

You will help ensure podcast episodes are distributed across platforms and support the team with basic analytics insights to help grow our audience.

The Supporting Chapter Manager provides support to Chapter that are deemed to be struggling. Your expertise and experience could be vital to delivering our ground-breaking climate action and sustainability E-Save app. We're looking for UK-based people for a range of communications, marketing and multi-media roles.

What will you be doing?

You will join a team helping to launch and promote the E‑Save climate‑action app and improving its content and user experience. 

By supporting creative campaigns, you will also help the team raise the profile of Eco Centre, and support local outreach initiatives, volunteer recruitment and communications, and stakeholder engagement. 

Your work will help people discover and use the app to take practical climate action at home.
