Crisis of Faith: 1 in 4 young Muslims are leaving the religion due to various factors, primarily the pervasive anti-religious content and temptations they encounter online and offline.
Roots Academy exists to bridge this gap by providing a structured and transformative Islamic education that speaks directly to the needs and challenges of young Muslims today, delivered in an engaging and accessible form that provokes thought and action.

Role Summary
To bring our vision to life, you will play a key role in shaping how Roots Academy’s message is delivered visually. As a Video Editor, you will be responsible for editing high-quality, engaging video content that supports our educational programs, strengthens our online presence, and helps our content resonate deeply with audiences across social platforms.

Key tasks

• Edit short-form and long-form video content for platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and other digital channels.
• Apply consistent pacing, subtitles, branding, and visual style in line with Roots Academy guidelines.
• Collaborate closely with content leads, instructors, and the marketing team to deliver videos aligned with campaign goals.
• Manage feedback, revisions, and version control efficiently.
• Organise and maintain video assets and project files in shared drives.

What we’re looking for

• Passion for Islamic education and contributing to the development of young Muslims.
• Strong video editing skills using tools such as Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or equivalent.
• An eye for storytelling, pacing, and visual clarity — especially for short-form social content.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple edits at once.
• Clear communication and openness to feedback.

Could your experience, curiosity and fresh perspective help shape the future of a local school?

Hart Plain Junior School is looking for enthusiastic and committed volunteers to join our governing board.  You do not need to work in education or have previous governance experience.  We are interested in people who care about children’s education, can consider issues thoughtfully and are willing to ask constructive questions.

School governors play an important strategic role.  Working as a team, our governors help ensure that the school has a clear direction, provides the best possible education for every pupil and uses its resources effectively.

What will you do?

As a governor, you will help the governing board to:

• Shape the school’s vision, ethos and strategic direction
• Support and constructively challenge school leaders
• Monitor pupils’ educational performance and wellbeing
• Help ensure that all pupils, including those with special educational needs and disabilities, can access a high-quality education
• Oversee the school’s finances and ensure public money is used effectively
• Review policies and monitor the school’s compliance with its statutory responsibilities
• Represent the interests of pupils and the wider school community
• Contribute to important decisions about the school’s future

Governors do not become involved in the school’s day-to-day management.  Their role is to look at the bigger picture, test the evidence presented to them and provide both support and appropriate challenge.

Who are we looking for?

You do not need to be a parent or an education specialist.  We welcome people from different professional and personal backgrounds who can bring new ideas, experiences and perspectives to the board.

Experience in areas such as finance, HR, leadership, data, risk management, law, marketing, communications, community engagement or education would be valuable, but it is not essential.  Your judgement, commitment and willingness to learn are just as important.

What will you gain?

What is the commitment?

The role is voluntary, and the usual term of office is four years.  Governors are expected to:

· Attend at least 6 full governing board meetings each year - meetings are normally held in person at the school on Thursday evenings 1730-1930.

• Read meeting papers and prepare questions in advance
• Undertake relevant governor training
• Visit the school during the working day approximately 2-3 times each year

Our fundraising volunteers are a huge part of championing our cause in the local community, by organising and helping at events, chatting to members of the public and processing donations.

Volunteer in a Newlife store

We're recruiting retail volunteers to support us as we head into the retail peak season and beyond.

Become a Retail Store Volunteer and you’ll join our friendly community of staff and volunteers. We’re always searching for volunteers to help in our nine UK stores. You can find shifts that suit you.

About the role: 

Retail Support Volunteers get involved in a range of tasks including supporting customers, sorting stock and working on the shop floor. 

If you’re looking for retail experience, enjoy working in a busy environment and are a great team player, this is the opportunity for you. 

What you’ll be doing:

• Providing excellent customer service and dealing with any customer queries 
• Setting up displays in store to showcase products
• Sorting through new products and displaying stock on the shop floor

Would you like to make a difference to the lives of blind and partially sighted people by supporting the RNIB Enterprises Team in a varied business sales admin role? Do you live in or close to Peterborough?

We're looking for a volunteer to help us with:
• Compiling contacts list of potential new business customers.
• Reaching out to new potential business customers.
• Calling/setting up meetings/calls with sales managers.
• Emailing outreach information/updates.
• Supporting with the administration of competition updates, and customer satisfaction surveys to better understand our customer base.

We're looking for volunteers who are available sometime during weekdays, ideally on a Thursday but this is flexible and a different day may be possible, for either a full day or a couple of half days a week.

This role is based within RNIB’s Peterborough office but there is also the option to volunteer remotely from home.

This is a busy role and would suit someone will excellent admin and customer care skills who has a methodical and organised approach and is able to pay attention to detail.

How you will be supported in your role:
Full training on the role will be provided. You will also receive support from your volunteer manager which will include regular updates and catchups.

What you will gain from this role:
This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to develop or refresh their admin skills in a volunteer role with the UK's leading sight loss charity and you will gain experience in dealing with business customers, supporting sales and order teams and a better understanding of MS Office.

Our fundraising team leaders support their team of volunteers in all aspects of their roles, making sure our volunteers are happy, confident and supported.

 What we need from you

You’ll be:

· supporting and encouraging a team of fundraising volunteers

· planning fundraising events and activities with your team

· allocating tasks before and during fundraising events

· keeping financial records from fundraising events

· encouraging and promoting a professional image of Cats Protection 

· following policies and guidelines and ensuring licences and permits are obtained for events

OVERVIEW

Ditch the Label is a global young people’s organisation that helps young people thrive in an increasingly complex digital world. 

We combine research, education and direct support to ensure young people are able to navigate the digital world safely and confidently. We work alongside young people giving them opportunities to take the lead on issues that matter to them, including identifying the challenges we address and helping to shape the solutions.

This is a rare opportunity to shape the governance of an organisation at an inflection point. We have strong funder relationships, an ambitious international growth plan, and a mission that has never mattered more. Every day, millions of young people navigate online bullying, harassment and digital harm. Ditch the Label exists to change that. 

WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO

1. RESEARCH - We generate high-quality, youth-led insights to better understand the issues shaping young people’s lives. Our reports inform our programmes and policy work to ensure they are evidence-based and effective.

2. EDUCATION - We work with educators and young people to promote positive online practice, and provide solutions when challenges arise. We deliver this through our school membership programme of training, resources and support

3. SUPPORT - We provide free, confidential support to young people through online communities, one-to-one mentoring and therapeutic services. Delivered by our team of psychologists, counsellors and psychotherapists, our support helps young people feel seen, heard, overcome challenges and access the tools they need to thrive

TIME COMMITMENT

Approximately two days per month, including quarterly board meetings, catch ups with the CEO every two weeks, and occasional representation of the charity externally.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Lead the board in overseeing strategy, financial sustainability and risk, while giving the executive team room to execute

• Champion good governance without stifling pace, helping Ditch the Label move fast and responsibly as it grows

• Represent Ditch the Label to funders, partners and stakeholders, opening doors as the organisation expands into new markets

• Support recruitment and development of a high-calibre, diverse board

• Ensure the voice of young people remains central to every governance decision

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Experience at Senior leadership or board-level, ideally including chairing or co-chairing a board

• A genuine passion for young people's safety, wellbeing or digital rights

• Comfort with ambiguity and pace; we are a growing organisation

• Confidence to challenge constructively and hold the executive to account, paired with the generosity to support them

• Experience of international or multi-market growth is a strong plus
