Main duties and Responsibilities:
· Set and maintain vision, mission and values
· Develop strategy, set overall policy, define strategic objectives and evaluating performance against agreed targets
· Assure continuous compliance with the legal and regulatory standards governing the operation of the charity, the charity governing document and any other relevant legislation, updating the articles of association as required.

Term of Office
Appointments are made on an initial 4 year term, with annual appraisal, with the option to serve a second term.
Where a Trustee has completed two terms and is selected as Chair of the Board of Trustees, or asked to undertake specific project work their term of office will be reset by People Governance Committee and ratified at the AGM.

Where we are now
Shannon Trust has experienced remarkable growth over recent years. We have gone from a team of twelve people to one hundred staff today, supported by a volunteer base that brings us close to 250 people working to change lives through learning. The core of what we do is one-to-one peer mentoring in prisons. In 2025 alone, more than 11,000 learners used our reading and numeracy programmes, with 2,000 new volunteer peer-mentors trained to support them. We work in around one hundred prisons across England, Wales and Northern Ireland, delivering our Turning Pages reading programme and Count Me In numeracy programme. We are increasing our reach into the community, too. This growth is the result of sustained focus, strong relationships with funders who believe in our work, and the proven impact of our peer-led learning model.

Treasurer Role:

The Social Media Analysis & Insights Officer ensures that every post, video clip, podcast snippet, or visual asset has measurable impact. You are the intelligence engine, translating raw platform data into actionable strategies for growth, engagement, and community trust.
This role is not about vanity metrics. It is about understanding what works, what resonates, and what drives meaningful action.
Purpose of the Role
The purpose of this role is to:
- Measure, track, and interpret performance across all CIC platforms
- Identify content that drives donor growth, volunteer mobilisation, VFAP recruitment, and community engagement
- Provide actionable insight to content creators, campaign managers, and the Social Media Director
- Highlight trends, risks, and opportunities at platform and borough-level
- Ensure data-informed decisions guide strategy without sacrificing values or ethics

Experience Qualification and Requirements
Essential experience
- Experience in social media analytics across one or more platforms (TikTok, Instagram, X, YouTube, LinkedIn).
- Experience building dashboards and visual reporting (e.g., Looker Studio/Google Data Studio, Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent).
- Experience using Excel or Google Sheets for analysis, including KPI tracking, trend analysis, and data cleaning.
- Experience measuring and reporting KPIs for digital content or campaigns, including performance interpretation and recommendations.
- Experience turning data into actionable insights (not just reporting numbers) and communicating them clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
Essential skills
- Strong analytical thinking with ability to identify patterns, test assumptions, and avoid over-reliance on vanity metrics.
- Ability to connect performance signals to outcomes (donations, volunteer actions, trust indicators) and explain correlation limits responsibly.
- Strong data visualisation and storytelling skills: clear dashboards, concise summaries, and practical “what to do next” outputs.
- High attention to detail and consistency in KPI definitions, reporting cadence, and data integrity.
- Ability to work collaboratively with director, campaign, content, engagement, and systems teams to improve performance loops.
- Self-management, reliability, and accountability in a fast-moving build phase with evolving priorities.

- Experience with non-profit or community impact measurement, including engagement quality and trust signals.

Main Responsibilities/ Key Duties
- Build and maintain performance dashboards that track platform, campaign, and community-level outcomes across TikTok, Instagram, X, YouTube, and LinkedIn.
- Analyse correlations between content performance and organisational outcomes, including content-to-donation, content-to-volunteer mobilisation, and content-to-engagement/retention signals.
- Track ambassador adoption of approved content, including what gets used, where it performs best, and what barriers reduce uptake (format, clarity, timing, relevance).
- Identify high-performing formats, topics, hooks, CTAs, posting patterns, and creators, and translate these into repeatable insights the team can action quickly.
- Generate insights at multiple levels: platform-specific performance, campaign-level learning, and borough/community-specific engagement patterns to support localised messaging.
- Feed intelligence consistently to the Social Media Director, Campaign Manager, Content Creators, and Engagement Officers to improve strategy, production priorities, and community responses.
- Recommend practical action plans to scale what works (replicate formats, expand reach, optimise distribution) and address underperforming content (iterate creative, adjust targeting, refine CTA).
- Maintain clear records for reporting and transparency, ensuring insight outputs are traceable, consistent, and suitable for internal review and governance.
- Support development of KPI frameworks and reporting standards, including definitions, measurement rules, cadence, and ownership, so the C.I.C can scale analysis without confusion.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by testing hypotheses, monitoring trends, and flagging risks (e.g., vanity metrics, misleading interpretations, safeguarding-sensitive performance patterns).

The Chapter constitutes the board of charity trustees of Worcester Cathedral (registered charity: 1207427). The Chapter comprises members who are lay and ordained, executive and non-executive as set out in the Cathedral’s Constitution. The non-executive members provide constructive challenge, input and support to the Cathedral’s strategic direction and operational implementation.
Commitment
Meetings: The Chapter currently meets formally 8 times per year (including two away days), usually for four hours on a weekday morning. Papers are received in advance and all members of the Chapter are expected to have read papers and be prepared to contribute as needed to discussion.
The Chapter does not normally meet in August. Expenses can be claimed for attendance at meetings or carrying out functions on behalf of the Chapter. Non-executive members of the Chapter will serve as lay canons of the Cathedral (or honorary canons if ordained), having the right to the title of ‘Canon’ and of being assigned a stall in the Cathedral’s 14th Quire. Non-executive members of the Chapter are required to adhere to the Chapter Member / Trustee Code of Conduct
Responsibilities of the Chapter:
A non-executive member of the Chapter shall take a full part in the discussions and decision-making of the Chapter as it fulfils its statutory responsibilities:
- to order the worship and promote the mission of the Cathedral;
- to formulate proposals in connection with the strategic direction and mission of the Cathedral;
- to manage all property vested in the Cathedral and the income accruing from it;
- to ensure that necessary repairs and maintenance of the Cathedral and its contents and other buildings and monuments are carried out;
- to attend to all matters concerning the appointment of staff to the Cathedral;
- to prepare an annual budget for the Cathedral;
- to prepare an annual report and accounts;
- to keep under review the Constitution and Statutes of the Cathedral;
- to ensure legal and regulatory compliance;
- to meet safeguarding requirements and ensure best practice;
- to exercise the power if necessary to provide for the incorporation of limited companies for the better management of the Cathedral.
Contributing to the Cathedral's Life, Worship and Mission:
A non-executive member of the Chapter shall contribute the skills and experience they bring to the Cathedral as opportunity allows, for example:
- by serving on such incorporated limited companies as the Chapter may establish, on sub-committees of the Chapter and on any working groups of the Chapter as may be created;
- by attending and contributing to worship at the Cathedral;
- by contributing to the ministry of hospitality offered at the Cathedral and to such other Cathedral activity as may be appropriate;
- by acting as an advocate for the Chapter of Worcester Cathedral within and beyond the Church of England, across the city, the Deanery and the Diocese of Worcester and the wider region;
- by serving as a Canon of the Cathedral, being seen and present as such, as may be appropriate;
- by providing critical friendship and constructive challenge to Chapter colleagues, the Chief Officers and the wider Senior Executive Team.

Essential
- Communicant member of the Church of England (within the meaning given in Rule 83(2) of the Church Representation Rules), or a communicant member of a Church which is not in communion with the Church of England but subscribes to the doctrine of the Holy Trinity
- Committed to the Cathedral’s Christian vision, values, mission and ministry.
- Able to carry out legal duties as set out in the Charity Commission’s ‘CC3 - The Essential Trustee’ and make decisions in accordance with the guidance provided in ‘CC27 – Decision-making for charity trustees’.
- Willing to follow the Chapter’s Code of Conduct and to uphold all of the Chapter’s safeguarding responsibilities.
- Willing to complete appropriate safeguarding training and DBS checking.
- Demonstrable strategic leadership and governance skills; previous experience volunteering as a trustee is welcome but not essential.
- Willingness to attend to professional personal development including undertaking training.
