Job description

Fully Remote/10 Hours Per Week/Voluntary - Commission Based Model/Executive Leadership

Help transform programme evidence into meaningful impact — and impact into funding that changes lives.

Project Yananai is a newly registered charity specialising in poverty alleviation programmes through sustainable skills development and compassionate humanitarian aid.

As we strengthen our international programmes and expand our fundraising capability, we are seeking an experienced Deputy Director of Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) to help build the evidence, accountability and impact infrastructure that will underpin our growth.

This is an opportunity for an experienced MEL professional to make a meaningful contribution to an emerging international charity, helping ensure our programmes are measurable, evidence-based and positioned to attract sustainable institutional funding.

About the Opportunity

We are looking for a strategically minded and technically capable MEL professional who can work collaboratively with Country Directors and Programme Managers across our operating countries to strengthen programme development, monitoring, evaluation and impact measurement.

A central priority will be ensuring our programmes are supported by credible evidence, measurable outcomes and robust Project Information Sheets that enable our Fundraising team to develop compelling, evidence-based funding proposals.

You will play an important role in connecting programme delivery, evidence generation, organisational learning and fundraising readiness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and strengthening of Project Yananai's programme MEL frameworks and methodologies.
  • Work directly with Country Directors and Programme Managers to develop, validate and strengthen evidence-based Project Information Sheets.
  • Establish measurable programme objectives, indicators, outputs, outcomes and impact frameworks.
  • Support programme teams in collecting, analysing and validating programme evidence and data.
  • Strengthen programme reporting, monitoring processes and organisational learning.
  • Ensure projects are sufficiently developed, substantiated and evidence-supported for institutional funding opportunities.
  • Collaborate closely with Fundraising to ensure programme evidence and impact information underpin high-quality funding proposals.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, evidence-based decision-making and continuous programme improvement.

What We're Looking For

We are seeking someone who brings:

  • Demonstrable experience in Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning, programme evaluation or development programme management.
  • Strong technical expertise in MEL frameworks, indicators, impact measurement and evidence-based reporting.
  • Experience working with programme teams, Country Directors or geographically dispersed stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical, organisational and written communication skills.
  • The ability to translate programme data and evidence into clear, credible and compelling impact narratives.
  • A collaborative approach, strong professional judgement and the ability to work independently.
  • A genuine commitment to international development, poverty alleviation and humanitarian impact.

Experience within international development, humanitarian programmes or charitable organisations would be particularly advantageous.

Why Join Project Yananai?

This is an opportunity to:

  • Make a meaningful contribution to poverty alleviation and humanitarian programmes.
  • Help establish the MEL infrastructure of a developing international charity.
  • Shape how programmes demonstrate effectiveness, accountability and impact.
  • Work collaboratively with global programme and fundraising leadership.
  • Apply your professional expertise to an organisation with ambitious development objectives.
  • Contribute to building the evidence and credibility required to unlock sustainable funding and expand programme delivery.
