Overseas Support Volunteer
Hospices of Hope is the only UK charity dedicated to the development of hospice care services throughout South and East Europe. We are dedicated to improving the lives of terminally ill patients in Romania and surrounding countries by supporting local hospice partners. We believe that everyone deserves the best possible care at the end of their life. However, in developing countries like Romania, many patients still die in pain without being offered any physical, spiritual, or emotional comfort.
We are looking for some enthusiastic volunteers with a variety of skills and interests to join us on our Summer Trips to Romania in 2026, which provide a much-needed break for children. There are two different groups of children that enjoy the trips. Some are affected by rare or life-limiting illnesses, others have experienced trauma through the death of a close relative. The other group of children who attend are relatives of patients in our care.
The children who benefit from our trips are often completely neglected by health care and social service systems. Our Summer Trips are an opportunity for them to relax, have fun, share stories, and find comfort in each other.
The trip includes airfares from London, transfers to and from the airport in Romania, your disclosure and barring service check, training, and accommodation. If you opt for the first trip, only breakfast and lunch are provided on the days you are at the hospice. You will need to pay for evening and weekend meals. If you opt for the second trip, whilst at the camp, all meals are provided. Again, you will need to pay for weekend meals.
The hours you attend will differ depending on which trip you attend; however, your role as a volunteer will involve you engaging with the children doing enjoyable activities, crafts, games, and much more. It is a chance for them to enjoy being children and just have some fun.
This role is advertised as part of TPP's Free Giving Back Services. This volunteer advertisement copy has been supplied to TPP and applicants apply direct to the organisation. Please contact the organisation directly if you have any questions about this volunteer role.

Design the Identity of a Nation: Graphic Designer (Citizenship Project)
SUNSHINE Charity – Creative Volunteer Role
Every community begins with a story — a shared dream of who we are and who we can become. In our Citizenship Project, participants are doing something extraordinary: imagining and building a nation from the ground up. A nation with its own culture, symbols, identity, and spirit.
But every nation needs an artist. A storyteller. A designer who can turn imagination into reality.
And this is where you come in.........
We’re searching for someone extraordinary
- Someone who understands that design is not just visual — it is cultural.
- Someone who knows that a flag can unite people, that a coat of arms can carry values, that a symbol can hold a whole community’s pride.
- Someone who can take the ideas of our participants and transform them into fully realised designs that feel alive.
As our Graphic Designer (Citizenship Project), you will help shape the visual identity of an entire imagined nation — its symbols, its emblems, its story.
What you’ll create and bring to life
Working closely with our participants, you will help design:
-
National flags that express identity, unity, and belonging.
-
Coats of arms that capture values, heritage, and symbolism.
-
Stamps that celebrate culture, history, and creativity.
-
Logos for institutions, ministries, and community spaces.
-
Visual assets that define the nation’s character and aesthetic.
-
Any other creative elements that help bring this imagined world to life.
You’ll take sketches, ideas, concepts, and discussions — and turn them into polished, professional designs that participants can be proud of.
Why this role matters
This project is more than creativity — it is empowerment. It gives people the chance to imagine a world where they belong, where their ideas matter, where they can shape something meaningful together.
Your design work will:
-
Help participants see their ideas become real.
-
Give the project a cohesive, inspiring visual identity.
-
Support learning around citizenship, culture, and community.
-
Create a sense of pride, ownership, and shared purpose.
-
Bring joy, imagination, and artistry into the heart of the programme.
You won’t just be designing graphics — you’ll be helping people build a nation.
Who you are
You don’t need formal qualifications. You don’t need years of experience. You just need creativity — and a love for bringing ideas to life.
If you enjoy designing symbols, flags, and visual identities… If you love collaborating with people and turning their ideas into something beautiful… If you want to help participants feel seen, heard, and creatively empowered…
Then this role was made for you!
Join us
Step into a role where your creativity becomes culture. Where your designs help shape a nation’s identity. Where your talent helps people imagine a brighter world — together.
- Be the artist of our nation‑building journey.
- Be the designer of our shared imagination.
- Be the sunshine.

Shape the Visual Heart of Our Movement: Graphic Designer (Volunteer)
SUNSHINE Charity – Creative Volunteer Role
Every movement begins with a feeling — a spark of warmth, hope, and human connection. SUNSHINE Charity was born from that spark. We are building a community where people feel seen, valued, and uplifted. But every movement also needs a visual language — imagery that carries its soul.
And this is where you come in........
We’re searching for someone extraordinary
- Someone who understands that design is more than decoration — it is storytelling.
- Someone who knows that colours, shapes, and layouts can make people feel welcome, inspired, and part of something bigger.
- Someone who can help us translate our mission into visuals that shine.
As our Graphic Designer (Volunteer), you will help craft the look and feel of SUNSHINE Charity across digital and print. Your creativity will help us speak clearly, warmly, and boldly to the communities we serve.
What you’ll create and shape
You’ll design a range of materials that bring our mission to life, including:
-
Roller banners that introduce SUNSHINE at events and in the community.
-
Booklets and guides that support our programmes and volunteers.
-
Posters and flyers that spread our message of warmth and belonging.
-
Business stationery that reflects our identity with professionalism and heart.
-
Social media graphics that carry our voice into the world.
-
Any other creative assets that help us grow, connect, and inspire.
You’ll work closely with our Founder, CEO, and Communications Lead to ensure everything we produce feels aligned, uplifting, and unmistakably SUNSHINE.
Why this role matters
A new charity is full of passion — but passion needs expression. It needs visuals that capture its energy. It needs design that feels human, warm, and hopeful.
Your creativity will help us:
-
Build a recognisable, trusted identity.
-
Communicate with clarity and emotional resonance.
-
Reach volunteers, partners, and communities.
-
Create materials that feel professional, accessible, and full of heart.
You won’t just be designing graphics — you’ll be shaping the visual language of our entire movement.
Who you are
You don’t need formal qualifications. You don’t need a long portfolio. You just need creativity — and a desire to use it for something meaningful.
If you love designing beautiful, impactful materials… If you enjoy turning ideas into visuals that make people feel something… If you want to help a new charity grow with confidence, clarity, and sunshine…
Then this role was made for you!
