The Coroners' Courts Support Service (CCSS) is a registered Charity whose trained volunteers give emotional and practical support to bereaved families and other witnesses attending an inquest.
We need volunteers to provide emotional support and practical help to bereaved families, witnesses and others attending Inquests at Coroners' Court. Our volunteers at court also provide help and assistance to the Coroners' Officers, as and when required.
We are looking for reliable, supportive people with excellent communication skills. A mature and calm attitude is needed in order to be able to talk to people during a sometimes bewildering and emotional experience. Volunteers must be willing to undergo a period of observations and shadowing, as well as attend a 3 day training course. A minimum commitment of one day (9:00am - 5:00pm) per fortnight is asked for. Training and mentoring is provided and travel expenses to the court are reimbursed.
New volunteers should possess good communication and listening skills and the ability to empathise with people they support.

What Will You Do?
As Lead Grants and Foundations, you will:
Fundraising strategy: Design and implement a comprehensive strategy for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding foundation, corporate, and government grant prospects.

A women led grassroots charity in southern India is seeking a volunteer accountant to strengthen accounting systems, reporting, budgeting and finance team confidence.
The organisation works with women, children and marginalised communities through programmes focused on empowerment, health advocacy, childcare, education and residential care for children affected by HIV/AIDS.

Key Responsibilities
Clinical Observation & Shadowing: Shadow skilled local midwives and obstetric staff during prenatal consultations, active labor, deliveries, and postnatal evaluations.

We are a Manchester based dementia support charity, looking to recruit a team of Volunteer Minibus Escorts, to accompany our drivers onboard our two Together Dementia Support minibuses - helping to pick-up and drop-off our service users before and after groups.
Drivers and Escorts are a key part of our service user experience – you’ll be their first and last contact with Together Dementia Support each week, so we rely on our escorst provide a to be positive, supportive and enjoyable experience.
Volunteer Escorts will board the minibus with our drivers in the morning (at the Kath Locke Centre, M15 5DD) ready to pick service users up and transport them to the group, which will run for 2 hours. Depending on your availability, once the group has ended there is an option to finish your volunteering shift, or support members on the minibus for the return journey – finishing back at the Kath Locke Centre. We may also ask you to begin your volunteering shift at the group, and then support on the return journey.
You’ll be responsible for our service users boarding and disembark the minibus safely, and engaging with them throughout the journey. You also be expected to stay in good contact with our service users and carers around pick-up times, delays or issues. You’ll also stay in good contact with our office and the group Dementia Support Co-ordinator around any issues or problems.
All volunteers are also expected to adhere to the following Together Dementia Support policies – Health & Safety, Safeguarding, Equality Diversity & Inclusion, and any other policies deemed relevant.

Role summary - To participate as a member of the Maintenance Team covering general maintenance, domestic and health and safety duties. A good level of fitness is required for this role. Due to proximity to patients in the hospice, this role requires an enhanced DBS check.
Main duties of the role -
• To undertake simple maintenance tasks such as painting, PPM (planned preventative maintenance), erecting shelving, sweeping external areas, jet washing of terrace furniture, removal of weeds, hedge trimming, and other tasks relating to the upkeep of the site.
• To assist the maintenance team where needed to deliver and collect from Colchester General Hospital and EBME.
• To assist the maintenance team with the setting up and dismantle of rooms for meetings, ensuring all furniture and equipment requested is supplied.
• To report any maintenance, security or health and safety issues to the maintenance team
• To always wear personal protective equipment required for any task.
• To liaise with contractors and suppliers as required.
• To respect at all times the confidentiality of information including patients, staff and volunteers.
• To conduct any other maintenance duties as requested by the Estates & Facilities team.
Training & supervision -
• Online training including health and safety is mandatory
• Full training in relation to the role will be provided

Volunteer Sourcing & Outreach

Passion for community building, social impact, and supporting global volunteers.
Comfortable working in a remote environment across multiple time zones.
Preferred
