Volunteer as an Independent Visitor today!

An Independent Visitor is a volunteer who spends time with a child or young person in care, offering friendship, encouragement and a consistent relationship with someone outside the care system.

It is a simple but powerful role: being there, showing up and giving a young person positive time with a trusted adult.

Visits are shaped around the young person’s interests and can be as simple as going for a walk, sharing a drink or trying a new activity together.

We welcome adults of all ages and backgrounds who relate well to young people and care about their wellbeing.

We ask

We ask volunteers to be reliable, open-minded and able to commit to regular contact over time, so the relationship has the chance to grow.

You will need a DBS check, proof of eligibility to work in the UK and satisfactory references before you start. Whilst driving is not a pre-requisite of the role, in line with safe driving policy, proof of license valid MOT and insurance, including business cover, is required to transport a child/young person.
