As a charity we can continue to help cats and kittens in need thanks to the donations we receive at fundraising events from generous members of the public. Our fundraising event helpers have the exciting and varied role of helping at local fundraising events - such as cakes sales, barn dances, quiz nights – and everything in between!

You’ll be:

· help set up and/or man stalls at events

· help on collection days like supermarket collections events or street collections

· help at fundraising events such as quiz nights, cake sales and dances

· promoting a professional image of Cats Protection at events

Time expectation

This role is really flexible! You could choose to volunteer at one event for a couple of hours or attend multiple fundraising events.

We’ll keep you up to date with upcoming local events where volunteers are needed. You’ll then be able to choose which events you’d like to volunteer at and how many hours you’d like to give. However much time you can give, your contribution will help raise much needed funds to continue the work of Cats Protection.

As a charity we are able to help thousands of cats each year thanks to the generous donations we receive from members of the public. Our fundraising team leaders have the exciting and varied role of inspiring our fundraising volunteers to plan and deliver local fundraising events. Using their passion and imagination, they oversee a small team of fundraising volunteers who come together to raise the vital funds needed to cover costs such as veterinary bills and food. Our fundraising team leaders support their team of volunteers in all aspects of their roles, making sure our volunteers are happy, confident and supported.

We are looking for a new independent trustee who can bring fresh perspectives and objective judgment from outside our immediate membership to join our very committed board. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of charity law and regulation.

Location: Attendance at 4 board meetings (mainly online but with 1-2 in London) each year, and attendance at the Board strategy day.

You may also be required to attend the Council’s annual general meeting and any other general meetings. There may also be additional requirements upon appointment and periodically thereafter for training days in the Council’s office in central London. There will be a full induction as part of the onboarding process.

Remuneration: This is as voluntary unpaid role. Reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed.

About: The Council of Deans of Health is a membership organisation and charity representing over 100 UK universities and colleges engaged in education and research for nursing, midwifery, and the allied health professions. At any one time, our members educate around 200,000 current and future professionals and carry out research that improves the population’s health and wellbeing.

Our Board of Trustees is responsible for oversight of the administration and management of the Council, which is led by the CEO who is accountable to the Board. The role of the Board includes setting and monitoring the implementation of the Council's strategy, and ensuring its financial sustainability and its compliance with legal requirements. The Board of Trustees will play an important role in taking forward the Council’s strategy, overseeing the continued growth of the Council, ensuring its financial sustainability, and avoiding exposing the charity’s assets, beneficiaries or reputation to undue risk. The Board comprises a mix of trustees drawn from our member organisations and independent trustees from a range of different professional backgrounds and experience.  

Key responsibilities:

• Contribute to the overall strategic direction of the Council, including taking forward the Council's agreed strategy.
• Ensure the Council complies with its governing document, company law, charity law and any other relevant legislation or regulations.
• Oversee the Council’s financial management with the overall aim of achieving financial sustainability.
• Safeguard the organisation and advise on diversification of income to support the Council’s development.
• Work effectively and collaboratively with the Chair and other Board members in providing support and effective scrutiny to the Council's senior staff team.

Some of the essential competencies we are looking for all Trustees:

• Demonstrate a commitment to understanding the Council's business, the sector context and wider policy issues across the four nations of the UK.
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills and an enabling, inclusive approach.
• Ability to think strategically and offer advice, guidance, support and constructive challenge to oversee the effective delivery of the Council’s strategic objectives.
• Demonstrate a track record of collaborative working in an organisation with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
• Ideally, have experience at senior management or board level in other organisations and experience of charity governance.

College of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare (CoSRH)

CoSRH is seeking an experienced Digital, Technology and Cyber Security Trustee to join its Board and provide strategic leadership on technology, digital innovation, data governance, and cyber security.

As a Trustee, you will share collective responsibility for the governance, sustainability, and strategic direction of CoSRH. In this specialist role, you will act as the Board’s lead on digital and technology matters, offering insight and constructive challenge to ensure CoSRH’s technology strategy is forward‑looking, secure, ethical, and aligned with the organisation’s mission and member needs.

Key responsibilities include overseeing digital transformation and technology investment, advising on cyber security risk and incident preparedness, supporting data protection and GDPR compliance, and contributing to decisions on technology procurement and supplier management. You will also help the Board understand the implications of emerging technologies, such as AI and automation, and support the development of digital capability and awareness across the organisation.

We are looking for someone with significant senior‑level experience in IT, digital technology, or cyber security, ideally with board or executive‑level exposure. You will be able to communicate complex technical issues clearly to non‑technical audiences and have a strong understanding of governance, risk, and compliance. Experience in the charity, healthcare, or membership sectors is desirable but not essential.

Time commitment: Approximately 12 days per year
Term: Three years, with the possibility of renewal

2026/27 is a pivotal time for the Muscle Help Foundation (MHF) charity. Marking its 23rd year of operation, MHF is now moving beyond its founding 657 mission set in March 2003, to a new mission. Exciting times! A key Board appointment, the Treasurer will maintain an overview of MHF's financial affairs, ensuring continued sustainability.

What will you be doing?

We're looking for that special person to be a part of a small and friendly team that can help contribute to MHF's future continued mission and vision.

Our existing Treasurer is also MHF's Interim Chair. As a high achiever, the need for a standalone Treasurer is required to ease the pressure. MHF’s Treasurer will work with the charity’s long-standing chartered accountancy firm and external book-keeping partner, in addition to being supported by the Interim-Chair and the CEO.

What are we looking for?

• Time to dedicate to the role of Treasurer. Excellent communicator with good listening & interpersonal skills
• Professional or relevant finance & business-related experience and knowledge and/or the ability to demonstrate the necessary financial skills needed to support MHF's professional interests
• The intellectual capacity to grasp issues outside personal experience and the ability to contribute to high level strategy development

As someone with financial skills, you can help ensure MHF's board can understand & review the charity's financial position with greater confidence. Following an away-day last year, several new missions were developed as MHF is now within touching distance of realising its original 657 mission set in March 2003, some 23 years ago. At St John Ambulance, we are looking to develop our volunteering offer and become an even more integral part of our communities through delivering community first aid and education. 

We need people who have a passion for helping others, care about their communities and want to make a difference, supporting them to become safe and more resilient by sharing your first aid skills and knowledge. As a Community First Aider, you’ll deliver first aid to those in need through local events, as well as provide education to the public so that the ripple effect of First Aid grows.

Through supporting the growth of community partnerships, you will bring people along to our cause, growing our membership and fundraising base and spreading the message that First Aid Saves Lives. 

Through volunteering as a Community First Aider, you’ll get a huge sense of satisfaction and pride delivering an essential service. It’s great for you, great for your community and great for our nation, and it requires only a small commitment of your time. 

Required attends fortnightly Thursday training sessions as well as committing to 80 hours per year of event service.

We will make sure you will have access to a proper induction to volunteering with SJA and the training you need for the role you take on. About the Chair of Trustees opportunity

Primary Objectives:

• Provide leadership to the Board of Trustees. So the Board steers the charity for its future. Guide the Board in setting the charity’s direction and strategy. So strategy achievement is in line with Charity Commission guidelines.
• Work closely with the Chief Executive (CEO). Make sure the Board and the executive team work together to deliver disability equality with the 16 million disabled people in the UK.
• Uphold Scope’s mission and values. Develop and carry out Scope’s aims in line with our mission, vision, values, and legal responsibilities. Promote a “One Scope” culture of teamwork, where the Board and executive team work in a collaborative way that reflects Scope’s values. 
• Support and oversee the CEO’s performance. On behalf of the Board, support the CEO to lead effectively. This includes setting clear objectives and running annual performance reviews. 
• Empower every Trustee. Help get the best from every Trustee by encouraging everyone to bring their unique talents and skills. Encourage Trustees to support relevant executive team members.

Person Specification

Experience and Qualifications (Essential):

• Leadership experience. Experience of leading at a senior or Board level in a high-profile organisation. 
• Commercial awareness. Experience of taking a commercial perspective. Willingness for a considered risk appetite.
• Understanding of governance. A clear understanding of being a Trustee. This includes the duties and responsibilities that come with the role.
• Ability to lead meetings. Skilled in chairing meetings and encouraging participation. Clear communication and working well with people skills. Able to represent Scope externally with high profile individuals.
• Strategic vision and engagement. Able to guide others to focus on big picture strategy and lead decisions on it. 
• Building consensus. Skilled at finding consensus with others. 
• Network and influence. A network of contacts that can support Scope’s work.

Desirable (Bonus) Experience:

• Understanding of the disability and charity sectors. Knowledge of issues affecting disabled people and the voluntary sector.

As a mentor, you'll be matched with a Fellow aged 18–30 as she leads her own social action project over the course of a year. Our Fellows work across a wide range of projects–from social media campaigns and books to event hosting, community workshops, and more–so whatever your background or experience, there's a Fellow who could benefit from what you bring.

You will be expected to keep in contact with your mentee throughout the year, be available via your preferred contact method, and attend online meetings with your mentor once a month. You are also encouraged to attend an in-person event in mid-December where the fellows pitch their social action projects.

Hopian is a local charity providing domestic abuse and sexual exploitation support and refuge accommodation services. Our mission is to support and promote the right to have healthy, safe relationships, free of violence, abuse and sexual exploitation for all in society, helping individuals to overcome trauma in order to thrive and grow.

Role purpose

As a Fundraising Volunteer, you will be part of our Fundraising Team, supporting and helping to grow our fundraising activities. Your contribution will play a vital role in raising essential funds through a range of events and community initiatives, enabling us to continue our important work.

Tasks and Activities

No two days at Hopian are the same, and activities will vary depending on need. You will be guided by the team on where your support is most valuable. Tasks may include:

• Supporting fundraising activities and identifying new fundraising opportunities
• Promoting local fundraising events through bucket collections and in‑store collections
• Assisting with the planning, organisation, and delivery of fundraising events
• Attending events and providing support on event days

Orpheus is seeking a creative professional to join Level Up, our mentoring programme for young disabled adults beginning their journey in the creative industries.

This role is an opportunity to support an emerging artist to build confidence, develop their creative practice, and navigate the industry. We welcome mentors from all creative backgrounds, including design, fashion, film, animation, theatre, writing, music, dance, and more.  On this occasion we are seeking someone with experience in fashion, retail, styling, and voice performance, particularly those specialising in character driven performances for animation, gaming, audio dramas, and related media.

About the role

You’ll work one‑to‑one with a participant, offering guidance, industry insight, and practical support. You’ll help them set goals, explore opportunities, grow their networks, and develop their creative portfolio. We are looking for someone who understands and values the social model of disability and is committed to inclusive practice.

About WAST

We are a grassroots organisation led-by and for women seeking asylum in Greater Manchester. We campaign for social justice and women's rights through a peer-led support model that helps women find their place in the UK. Women seeking asylum continue to live in a hostile environment where they often feel vulnerable and isolated. WAST (Women Asylum Seekers Together) seeks to combat this by offering a safe space where women can be heard, build confidence, and develop new skills.

The Roles

Due to the retirement of three long-standing trustees, we are recruiting four women to join our diverse Board of Trustees and help us deliver projects that the women themselves have identified as priorities.

One of these positions is for a Treasurer, who will support the Board in overseeing the charity’s finances, ensuring strong financial management and sustainability.

We are also particularly interested in recruiting more Trustees with lived experience of the asylum system, or the immigration system. WAST’s Chair and Honorary Chair have lived experience, and we would very much value more women with lived experience on our board. 

The current Board have a diverse range of skills. We particularly welcome applications from women with experience of campaigning, fundraising or human resources. However, this should not put off any potential applicants who may bring other qualities to the Board.
