This voluntary role is a great opportunity to make a difference to people’s lives 

As a Research and Campaigns Volunteer you will: 

• create leaflets and posters to promote the service, or use existing materials 
• use social media, for example, Facebook and LinkedIn to raise the profile of the local Citizens Advice 
• help to share what local Citizens Advice does with your local press or radio station 
• write information for the local Citizens Advice website or newsletter 
• talk to clients or volunteers about their experiences 
• help arrange a talk or event to promote the local Citizens Advice to others 
• Raise awareness with staff and volunteers of current social policy issues. 
• Check evidence forms regarding clients’ issues and problems and analyse the results in terms of main trends, identifying potential campaigning issues
• take an interest and gain understanding about what staff and volunteers are doing around researching client issues and campaigning for change, and how this fits in with national Citizens Advice 
• Help provide information and evidence for a full report on research and campaigns 

You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will self-motivated, with strong research and IT skills, have an understanding of social media and how to utilise it and have the ability to contribute positively whilst having a flexible approach.

About The Role
Our Campaigns and Storytelling Volunteers play a key role in how Doncaster Mind communicates its work, shares impact and connects people with support.

Through campaigns, digital content and storytelling, you will help us raise awareness of mental health, promote early support, and highlight the services available through Doncaster Mind, including prevention work, community services and our Rise Therapy service.

This flexible volunteer role can be carried out remotely from home, with a minimum commitment of just two hours per week, making it easy to fit around work, study or other commitments.

The role is suitable for people who want to apply existing communications skills in a meaningful setting, as well as those looking to build experience and develop a portfolio in campaigns, content and storytelling.

What You’ll Do
You’ll support a range of communications and campaign activities, which may include:

• Creating social media posts and digital content
• Supporting awareness campaigns and key messages
• Writing or adapting copy for different audiences
• Helping share stories, case studies and impact updates
• Supporting website or newsletter content updates
• Contributing ideas for campaigns and engagement activity
• Helping promote events, services and community activity

The Role

We are seeking a proactive, organised and supportive Volunteer Campaign, Creator and Activity Support Manager to oversee new registrations, support Creators from onboarding through to campaign completion, upload new experiences to the platform and assist with live campaigns.

This role focuses on ensuring new Creators and Collaborators receive a smooth, welcoming and professional experience, that experiences are accurately uploaded and maintained, and that live campaigns receive the support needed to run successfully.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage new Creator and Collaborator registrations from initial application through to onboarding and next steps

• Review registration information, follow up where anything is missing and ensure records are kept up to date in the CRM

• Guide new Creators and Collaborators through the registration and onboarding process, including selecting their cause, campaign and experience where appropriate

• Arrange, support and conduct introductory or campaign setup calls where appropriate.

• Upload new experiences to the Influential Stars platform, ensuring descriptions, pricing, links, images and key details are accurate

• Regularly review live experiences and update or remove listings where pricing, availability or exclusions have changed

• Send approved welcome emails, registration communications and onboarding information using existing templates

• Arrange and support introductory or campaign setup calls where appropriate

• Monitor and support all live campaigns on the platform

• Liaise with creators throughout the live campaign period to provide encouragement, guidance, and practical support

• Schedule, diarise, and send campaign communications using approved templates

• Coordinate with internal team members when campaigns go live

• Provide reminders, tips, and prompts to help creators maximise engagement

• Respond to creator enquiries and provide assistance as needed

• Conduct support calls where appropriate

• Maintain accurate records of communications and campaign progress using our CRM management system

• Ensure all tasks are completed in a timely and professional manner

Skills and Experience Required

Essential:

• Strong customer service experience

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Confidence using computers and online systems

• Experience using a CRM or similar database system

• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

• Ability to manage multiple tasks independently

Desirable:

• Familiarity with HubSpot CRM (preferred but not essential as training will be provided)

Volunteer Media correspondents (Campaigns) will be leading and supporting Centre for Big Synergy’s (CBS) SDG campaigns and events by capturing and sharing impactful stories and features across its communication channels, reaching millions.

What will you be doing?

Working closely with relevant campaigns or events team leadership and other volunteers of CBS, the Media Correspondents will interview members of public, campaign stakeholders, special guests, celebrities, leaders in policy, business and media , produce high‑quality audio‑visual content, and manage digital publications, helping to strengthen awareness, engagement, and visibility for our organisation’s mission and project outcomes.

• Conducting interviews with project leads, community members, partners, special guests, advisors and beneficiaries; for public events, public engagement, award ceremonies, campaigns
• Recording high‑quality audio and video content in the field (public places) or remotely.
• Editing interviews and project footage into clear, engaging, and professional media outputs.
• Creating compelling written and visual content for social media, newsletters, and other organisational platforms.
• Managing the publication of content across our digital channels, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with our mission.

What are we looking for?

Time expectation

Our fundraising team leaders usually spend three to four hours per week in this role, which is flexible and can be shared by more than one volunteer if needed.

Volunteering is and always will be at the heart of Cats Protection. It is joyful and inclusive. As a charity, working in partnership, together we transform the lives of cats, people and communities.

The difference you will make to cats and people

As a charity we are able to help thousands of cats each year thanks to the generous donations we receive from members of the public. Our fundraising volunteers use their passion for cats and people to raise the vital funds needed to help more cats and kittens in need. As a fundraising volunteer we want to support you to fundraise in whatever way suits you best, whether that’s organising a fundraising event, fundraising online, promoting fundraising activities on social media, completing administration or supporting the development of new fundraising ideas! Whatever your skill set, this could be the role for you! 

You can expect us to

• Make you feel welcome, included and respected in line with our values and behaviours
• Support you in having a positive and impactful experience at Cats Protection
• Cover agreed out-of-pocket expenses in line with our Expenses Policy
• Provide you with access to learning, development and engagement opportunities

What we need from you

This is a really flexible role, you can choose what you’d like to get involved with, for example: 

• face-to-face fundraising. Organising or helping with fundraising events, running supermarket collections and fundraising stands, monitoring collection tins 

• online fundraising. Setting up online appeals and writing impactful cat case studies that maximise donations

• marketing. Spreading the word about our fundraising activities, for example on social media and with the local press  

• completing administration. Processing donations, sorting and recording donated goods, completing Gift Aid paperwork

● championing our work. Getting involved with developing new fundraising ideas and increasing community engagement

● photography. Capturing images of cats in care, cats we are helping, events and all things Cats Protection
