About us

Housing Justice brings together communities and finds solutions to homelessness by building personal connections, a sense of belonging, and creating justice in the housing system. We train and support volunteers to offer various accommodation options while building a network of local support. This includes providing personalised assistance to help individuals access relevant local services and address their other needs. Through compassionate, courageous, and collaborative action, we implement innovative solutions to tackle housing injustice, enhance the quality of housing, and elevate the voices and experiences of groups affected by housing injustice to both local and national governments.

About you

We are particularly looking for a Trustee with knowledge or experience of the housing and homelessness context in Wales.

You’ll bring knowledge or experience of the housing and homelessness sector in Wales, alongside good judgement, integrity and the confidence to think independently. You’ll be comfortable contributing to strategic discussions, asking constructive questions and working collaboratively, listening to different perspectives to help the Board make informed decisions.

You’ll have an understanding of good governance—or a willingness to develop this through training—and a commitment to equality, inclusion and acting in the charity’s best interests. You’ll also be able to dedicate around 6–12 days a year to preparing for and attending meetings, learning and contributing to the Board’s work.

About the role

As a Trustee, you'll help shape the future of Housing Justice across England and Wales by providing strategic leadership, oversight and independent challenge. Working collectively with the Board, you'll ensure the charity is well governed, financially sustainable and focused on achieving its charitable purpose. Trustees share responsibility for ensuring Housing Justice acts in the best interests of the people and communities it exists to serve.

Trustees bring a wide range of skills, knowledge and experience. While individual trustees may contribute particular expertise, all trustees have equal responsibility for the decisions made by the Board.

How to apply
