About Our Second Home (OSH)

Our Second Home is the UK’s refugee youth movement. Founded in 2018 by youth movement graduates, OSH creates empowering, community-led residential trips and youth hubs for refugee and asylum-seeking youth.

About the OSH Leaders’ Fellowship

The OSH Leaders’ Fellowship is a selective annual programme designed for individuals with experience in youth movements.

As a Fellow, you will step directly into high-impact leadership roles running our residential trips, contributing to OSH’s growth, and supporting the development of young leaders with lived experience of the UK asylum system. In return, you will receive tailored training and mentoring, professional experience, networking opportunities, and a fast-track pathway to future paid leadership positions within OSH.

Key Responsibilities

• Learning & Development: Attend all required fellowship training and mentoring sessions, active reflection spaces, and group supervision.

• Residential Leadership: Lead in full on at least 2 residential trips during your fellowship year.

• Organisational Contribution: Contribute to OSH beyond residential delivery by taking on a specialised project (e.g., creating video content for social media, conducting programme evaluations, or leading fundraising initiatives).

Training & Benefits

• Specialist Training: Access monthly training sessions on community, fundraising, advocacy, leadership, storytelling and many other topics. The sessions will be delivered by OSH members and external partners. 

• Reflection & Mentorship: Access structured mentoring sessions, group supervision and peer reflection sessions.

• Career Pathway: Fellowship graduates are fast-tracked for future paid roles coordinating or managing OSH residentials (complementing our Logistics & Programme Coordinators). Depending on funding, we might also offer a few paid internships opportunities within the organisation. 

• Honorarium: A £300 completion payment upon finishing the fellowship year.

Who We Are Looking For

We are seeking cohort members who are passionate about youth empowerment, creating welcoming communities for refugee youth, and who might pursue careers in the charity sector. 

Requirements:

• Age: Must be 20-25 years old.

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in youth and community work (voluntary or paid). Students or recent graduates of youth-related university courses are also welcome to apply. 

• Location: Currently based in or around London.

• Commitment: Dedicated to fully leading 2 residentials, attending all training and mentoring sessions, and completing an additional project over the course of the year.

Timeline:

The programme will run roughly between November 2026 and May 2027, and will include 4 in-person workshops, 2 project related sessions, 4 online mentoring sessions, and a graduation event.
