Job description

RANGER CADETS — TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT TEAM (VOLUNTEER ROLE)

  • Build the training.
  • Shape the leaders.
  • Advance the ranks.
  • Empower the movement.

Ranger Cadets is launching across England — a bold, modern, community‑driven uniformed youth organisation with a mission:

To empower young people to become active citizens, confident leaders and positive forces in their communities.

But to achieve this, we need strong, capable, well‑trained adult volunteers. Volunteers who feel confident, informed, supported and proud of their role. Volunteers who can advance up the ranks and grow into leadership positions.

That’s where the Training & Development Team comes in — the team that builds the backbone of our adult volunteer experience.

If you love creating training… If you enjoy developing people… If you want to help build a national leadership pathway… This role is calling you.

THE VOLUNTEER ROLE: Training & Development Team

Create training programmes. Build leadership pathways. Develop adult volunteers.

As part of the Training & Development Team, you will design and deliver the full training system for adult volunteers across Ranger Cadets.

You will create:

  • Induction Training for new volunteers.

  • Safeguarding Training to ensure safety and compliance.

  • Command Programme Training for Unit Commanders and Deputy Commanders.

  • Multi‑Unit Leadership Training for those overseeing several cadet units.

  • Senior Management Training for high‑level organisational leaders.

  • Rank Progression Pathways that allow volunteers to advance with pride.

  • Skills Development Modules that build confidence and capability.

  • Ongoing CPD to keep volunteers informed, engaged and growing.

Your work will ensure every volunteer — from new recruits to senior leaders — has the knowledge, confidence and support they need to succeed.

WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS

Ranger Cadets is volunteer‑run. Strong training means strong leaders. Strong leaders mean strong cadet units. Strong cadet units mean young people thrive.

Your training programmes will help create an organisation where:

  • Volunteers feel confident and capable.

  • Leaders are prepared, informed and empowered.

  • Safeguarding is strong and consistent.

  • Units run smoothly and professionally.

  • Volunteers can advance up the ranks with pride.

  • The organisation grows with stability and quality.

You won’t just be creating training. You’ll be shaping the leadership culture of Ranger Cadets.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Someone who:

  • Enjoys designing training, learning or development programmes.

  • Has a passion for helping adults grow and succeed.

  • Can break down information into clear, engaging modules.

  • Understands the importance of safeguarding and safe practice.

  • Believes volunteers deserve support, clarity and recognition.

  • Wants to help build a national training system from scratch.

  • Thrives in teamwork and collaboration.

  • Has a heart for youth development and community impact.

You don’t need formal training qualifications. You don’t need teaching experience. You just need organisation, creativity and commitment.

WHAT YOU’LL GAIN

  • Experience designing a national volunteer training programme.

  • Opportunities to shape leadership pathways and rank progression.

  • A chance to support volunteers at every level of the organisation.

  • Real‑world experience in training design, development and delivery.

  • The satisfaction of knowing your work is empowering leaders.

  • A legacy — your training will shape Ranger Cadets for years to come.

This is a role that stands out. This is a role that matters.

BE PART OF SOMETHING BIGGER

Ranger Cadets is built on values of courage, kindness, leadership and community. When you volunteer with us, you become part of a movement that believes in young people and invests in their future.

  • Your training will help volunteers grow.
  • Your programmes will inspire leaders.
  • Your work will empower the organisation.

READY TO BUILD THE TRAINING PROGRAMME?

If your heart beats faster reading this… If you can already picture the training pathways you’ll create… If you want to help build a leadership system that changes lives…

We want to hear from you.

  • Join the Training & Development Team.
  • Design with purpose.
  • Develop with passion.
  • Shape the leaders of tomorrow.
