We are Bees Abroad, working to enable communities to empower themselves, through sustainable beekeeping. Together with local beekeeper trainers and organisations we educate, guide, and mentor communities in local best practices in Beekeeping, business creation, and protecting the environment. 

Whilst we are a small charity, we drive a lot of impact and have great ambition, funded by long-term supporters who are aligned with our work. We are looking for a Volunteer Grant Coordinator to support our current grant application cycles. This role prioritises managing and improving existing grant workflows, with scope to grow our grant funder base over time. 

The role is well suited to someone who enjoys structured work, building systems, and working both solo and collaboratively with a small, impact-driven team. The individual will be working closely with our CEO and our Administrator. 

Responsibilities: 

• Manage the timeline and requirements for existing grant applications and renewals 

• Coordinate inputs from internal team members, such as project budgets, backgrounds and activities 

• Maintain a clear overview of deadlines, documentation, and submission status 

• Create and document standardised processes, templates, and checklists for grant applications so that the process is streamlined 

• Support post-award reporting requirements where relevant 

• Keep our CRM system up to date with relevant grant funder data

Commitment:

Our Treasurer should be based in the United Kingdom is expected to attend:

• Four quarterly Board meetings in London;
• Four Finance Committee meetings in London; and
• One annual strategy day.

Some Board meetings may be attended virtually. This is a voluntary position and reasonable travel expenses are covered for those travelling from outside London to attend meetings.

EQOL is a new charity creating practical services to improve everyday quality of life for neurodivergent adults.

Before we launch, we want to listen.

In relation to the community and code of conduct

• Represent the organisation as a spokesperson at appropriate events, meetings or functions.

• Lead the Board in fostering relations with potential clients and potential funders/donors.

• Act as final stage adjudicator for disciplinary and grievance procedures if required.

• Facilitate change and address conflict within the Board of Trustees, within the organisation and liaise with the Director to achieve this.

• Undertake review of external complaints as defined by the organisation’s complaints procedure.

• Ensure adherence and compliance around key policies to e.g. Hiring Policy,Health & Safety and in all decisions and discussions of the Board and its sub-committees.

• Attend and be a member of other committees or working groups when appropriate in role as Chair.

In relation to Child Protection

Time Commitment

• The Board meets at least 4 times a year and the Chair is expected to be available 4 times in a year.
