Wonderseekers is currently recruiting two new trustees to join our Board - one with expertise in development and strategic growth, and another with a strong commercial background. These new positions have been created in response to the charity’s growth and the evolving needs of our governance structure, ensuring we have the right skills and perspectives to deliver our ambitious strategy and deepen our impact for children and the planet.

The Role of a Trustee

As a trustee, you will help shape our strategic direction, oversee the financial sustainability of our charity, influence future projects, and support good risk management. You will work closely with fellow trustees and the Executive Team to ensure Wonderseekers delivers on its mission, always aligned with Our Promise to Children and our regulatory obligations.

General Responsibilities (All Trustees)

Role 1: Trustee – Development and Strategic Growth

We are seeking a trustee with experience in strategic development, income generation, and fundraising - ideally within the charity sector.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic oversight of Wonderseekers' forward plans, major initiatives, and campaigns
• Guide the Board on building external relationships with funders, partners, and stakeholders
• Support the Development Team in evolving fundraising strategies (individual giving, grants, trusts, corporate partnerships)
• Shape strategies for income generation, sponsorship, and donor stewardship
• Contribute to public relations, communications, and marketing
• Champion Wonderseekers’ mission and connect new supporters with our vision
• Serve and Chair the Fundraising Committee

Role 2: Trustee - Commercial Strategy

We are also seeking a trustee with a strong commercial background, particularly in the visitor experience sector, with financial acumen and senior experience in either a commercial or charitable setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain strategic oversight of Wonderseekers' commercial performance, especially at our visitor centre in Winchester
• Advise the Board on commercial matters and support the COO in long-term growth planning
• Lead or support on commercial risk management
• Serve as a director and Chair of our trading subsidiary, Sparking Curiosity Limited

• Time commitment: Board/committee meetings, preparation, informal engagement, and key events
• Support: Induction, ongoing training, and reasonable expenses covered

Role title: Community Fundraising Volunteer - Event on Friday 1 August 2023 evening 

Location: Concert Hall Edinburgh with Music Service 

Time commitment: Flexible (at least 2-3 hrs a month)

What we're looking for

We're looking for enthusiastic, creative and organised people across the nation to be a Community Fundraising Volunteer. Around 90 per cent of our income comes from our supporters and we couldn't continue doing what we do without them. That means, our community fundraising volunteers play a really important part in rallying people together to raise vital funds which help to protect children and prevent abuse.

What you'll do

To volunteer at a Christmas NSPCC  event to support the NSPCC in various ways such as co-ordinating of raffle tickets; orgnanising prizes; helping on the evening such as supporting the NSPCC Christmas stall and merchandise.

You'll volunteer without regular time commitments, ‘as and when' volunteering! Engage with the public, organisations and local communities – promoting a positive image of the NSPCC! You'll be a valued part of one of our Volunteer Community Fundraising Teams across the UK, raising awareness and funds. We appreciate that work, family and friends come first and, with that in mind, this role offers flexibility to fit in with your lifestyle. You only need to commit to a couple of hours a month, but if you want to do more that would be great.

Once we have completed your selection and screening for this role, we will provide you with an induction, as well as invite you to any necessary training sessions. The Grants Coordinator plays a crucial role in securing funding for our organization, which is a small but highly effective charity which uniquely acts as the collective voice of the views and concerns of all unpaid Mental Health Carers in the Royal Borough of Kingston. We are recognised in this campaigning role by statutory services who engage us as active members of decision-making committees. We also partner with other relevant organisations.

We assist individual Carers with 1:1 advice, guidance and self-empowerment, also having a monthly Peer-Support Group.

We are keen to further develop our services and, for this, we invite a volunteer with financial experience to help us achieve this. Whilst KMHCF is fully-funded for its present activities, we look for an applicant to guide us towards funding opportunities for our future expansion, and to take the lead on the application process.

This position involves researching and identifying potential funding sources, developing grant proposals, and managing fundraising campaigns. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding and experience of the grant application process, excellent writing and communication skills, and a passion for making a difference in the community.

You would need to be able to produce bids which would, in a competitive arena, entice Grant Funders to want to support our service.

This role would be home-based, but with regular contact with the Management Committee.

It would be good if you have some knowledge of Mental Health issues but this is not essential. Most of all, you should have the enthusiasm to serve Carers who can feel isolated and bewildered.

Support Connect and Inspire Local Volunteers for ROLDA UK!

Are you interested in animal welfare and want to make a positive difference in your community? ROLDA UK are now seeking Volunteer Community Outreach Officer to help reach out to local volunteers, facilitate small activities in the community, and raise awareness of our charity's mission to rescue and rehabilitate stray and abandoned animals.

Your Role

• Help ROLDA UK build a local presence within your community by networking and growing local volunteers who are interested in animal welfare and ask them to join you.

• Create new opportunities within your local community and grow a network of volunteers who can get involved in local fundraising events like charity walks, bake sales, and helping to run local stalls etc.

Join Our Team and Support the NSPCC in Plymouth!

What are we looking for?

We're looking for enthusiastic, creative, and organised people from Plymouth and the surrounding areas to support the NSPCC with events and fundraising. Our Community Fundraising and Plymouth-based Together for Childhood teams are instrumental in promoting the work of the NSPCC across the area, and we are looking for amazing volunteers to support the teams and help promote our missions of bringing people together to raise awareness and funds that help protect children and prevent cruelty and abuse. 

What will you be doing?

Volunteering in this role will mean you become a valued member of our volunteer network across Plymouth. You will support Community Fundraising by engaging with the public and local organisations, spreading the messages of the NSPCC, raising funds and just proudly representing what we stand for, and you will also take on a role of supporting and promoting our long-term Together for Childhood project at events within the community. 
There are plenty of different opportunities when it comes to being a Friend of the NSPCC in Plymouth, so you can really make the role your own and support us in a way that works for you!

What we're looking for

Around 90 per cent of our income comes from our supporters and we couldn't continue doing what we do without them. That means, our community fundraising volunteers play a really important part in rallying people together to raise vital funds which help to protect children and prevent abuse.

What you'll do

You'll kindly volunteer your time at Norwich's fundraising events to help raise vital funds for the NSPCC. You could be selling raffle tickets, supporting a collection, making tea and coffee at a lunch or coffee morning or providing support to one of Norwich committee's annual  events. You will engage with the public, organisations and the local community – promoting a positive image of the NSPCC! We'd particularly like to hear from you if your workplace run a matched funding scheme alongside your attendance at a fundraising event.

You'll work closely with your regional Community Fundraising Manager and the Norwich committee who can provide you with a choice of events to attend. This role offers the opportunity to build your personal skills and raise your profile in your community. It is flexible, you only need to commit to a couple of hours a month but you can do more if you would like to.

SMART CJS is a dynamic charity supporting people experiencing homelessness or at risk of losing their home. We’re looking for new trustees to join our friendly and committed Board, guiding our strategic direction and ensuring we remain a strong, effective organisation.

About the role
Trustees play a vital role in the governance of SMART CJS. Working closely with our senior leadership team, you will:

• Help set the charity’s overall direction and priorities.

• Ensure we meet our legal and financial responsibilities.

• Provide insight and expertise to strengthen our services.

• Support our mission to prevent homelessness and help people rebuild their lives.

Who we’re looking for
No previous board experience is necessary, full induction and training are provided. We’re particularly keen to hear from people with skills in:

As a community engagement volunteer you and your fellow branch members will create a range of activities to help spread the word about SSAFA within your community. To ensure that that our Armed Forces community know that SSAFA are here to help and that we need the public’s support to continue offering our services.

Community Engagement Volunteer

Why we want you

As a community engagement volunteer you and your fellow branch members will create a range of activities to help spread the word about SSAFA within your community. To ensure that that our Armed Forces community know that SSAFA are here to help and that we need the public’s support to continue offering our services.

What you will be doing

· Organising and attending awareness and fundraising events within the community

· Identifying new fundraising and awareness opportunities

· Helping at events

· Delivering presentations to community groups, schools, etc through

· SSAFA’s speaker programme

· Event administration

· Social media marketing

The skills you need

· Friendly and approachable

· Happy to help

· Basic IT skills would be an advantage
