This is an onsite, self-funded international volunteer and internship placement located in Ghana. This opportunity is open ONLY to international applicants traveling from outside the African continent (including Europe, North America, South America, Asia, Australia, and Antarctica). Because SFLIG Volunteers operates on a sustainable, grassroots model, participants must fully fund their own experience, including international flights, visa arrangements, and the program fee which covers safe community housing, daily meals, airport pickup, and 24/7 onsite support. Local applications cannot be considered for this international framework.

Your Typical Day in the Classroom

This role is active, vibrant, and highly collaborative. You won’t just be sitting at a desk; you will be an active spark in the school community:

• The Co-Pilot: Work hand-in-hand with local headteachers to make core subjects like English conversation, basic Mathematics, and General Sciences come alive through interactive games and discussions.

• The Creative Spark: Bring your own hobbies across the globe! Whether you love drawing, music, painting, or sports, you will design and lead engaging workshops that build child confidence and creativity.

• The Mentor: Provide crucial, patient one-on-one reading and arithmetic support to bright children who have fallen behind and just need someone to believe in them.

Program Flexibility & Hours

• Flexible Start Dates: This is an all-year-round opportunity. Volunteers and interns select their own arrival and departure dates to align with their personal, professional, or academic schedules.

• Customizable Schedules: You have the flexibility to determine your daily school/center shift lengths and the total number of hours you wish to commit each day, leaving plenty of time to enjoy the local culture.

OVERALL PURPOSE

We are seeking a motivated & experienced Volunteer Recruitment Administrator to join our charity. As a key member of our Human Resources team, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end recruitment process, ensuring the acquisition of talented individuals passionate about our mission. Your expertise will contribute to building a dedicated and skilled workforce, enabling us to impact the community positively. This role offers a unique opportunity to utilise your HR recruitment skills for a meaningful cause while gaining valuable experience in the non-profit sector.

You will play a key role in working towards our mission to recruit outstanding individuals who will work with us to transform the lives of disadvantaged women and families living in Wolverhampton.

Key responsibilities for this Volunteer Recruitment Administrator are:

•  To act as a point of enquiry for information, advice and support for prospective volunteers.
•  To assist in screening, sourcing and shortlisting all CV’s for active vacancies.
•  Assist with the recruitment process, including job postings, screening applicants, and coordinating interviews.
•  Support the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience.
• Help maintain and update employee records, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
•  To provide administrative support to the volunteer coordinator by updating job descriptions, coordinating & setting up interviews.
• To create and maintain documentation and records for recruitment.
•  To build positive relationships with relevant stakeholders in order to attract high quality applicants.
•  To explore innovative attraction methods to increase awareness of our volunteer programme amongst new audiences, particularly to those who are underrepresented on our programme.
•  To follow up volunteer interest and enquiries in a timely manner, encouraging application to an appropriate role.

Person Specification

What you will need as Volunteer Recruitment Administrator:

•  A good level of education, strong administration experience along with good IT literacy including Outlook, Word & Excel.
•  A background in recruitment would be a huge bonus!
•  The ability to prioritise your day, work at a fast pace and meet deadlines.
•  Great communication skills
•  We have some great technology to support you, so you will need to have a good understanding of systems and MS Office applications

We are looking for a lively dynamic individual to promote the activities of Sussex Area Ramblers by regular communications with members and engaging with local media including producing press releases and responding to enquiries. 

The main purposes of the role are (1) to maintain regular communications with Sussex Area Ramblers’ members by producing articles for the Area Website and sending email communications to keep members up to date with Area activities, including developing a social media strategy and (2) to communicate (together where necessary with Ramblers' Central Office) with media in the Area, including by way of proactive press releases, and deal with media enquiries, to ensure that the activities and charitable role of the Sussex Area Ramblers are given a high profile
