We are Buttons & Bubbles CIC. We are dedicated to increasing inclusion and representation across society for disabled families.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for volunteers to help with our social media. We want to massively improve and increase our content from TikTok to You Tube. So much goes into social media from the physical filming and scripts to making the small everyday promotional posts to bigger videos, editing and posting them. We need people to help with every aspect of social media  But don’t panic we are not asking one person to do all of this! So keep reading....

Who are we looking for?

• Somebody who is fun loving
• Be creative. Content creation is all about being creative.
• Knowledge or willingness to research algorithms and social media trends.
• Willing to learn or has knowledge of editing and posting videos
• Enjoy building online community
• No previous experience is necessary but a willingness to learn is essential.

What do we expect?

• Must be willing to undertake our training programme which will be done virtually and at a time to suit you.
• Have a basic DBS check (preferably be on the update system)
• Sign our volunteer contract. (If you disagree with anything in it please do discuss it with us and we will be happy to have a conversation and make small changes if appropriate).
• A positive attitude to disability and illness. We are happy to answer questions on this.

Looking for a way to give back to your local community without a long-term commitment? Not sure exactly what you’d like to do, but know you want to help?

Sometimes we come across one-off community tasks that just need a few volunteers to give us a good old Yorkshire helping hand. We also know life can get very busy and people don’t always have time to commit to a regular volunteering role.

Being a Community Squad volunteer is a flexible way to get involved. You’ll find out when and where one-off tasks are happening near you, and you can choose to help whenever it suits. There’s no ongoing commitment, you’re in control.

As a Squad volunteer, you’ll regularly receive updates about opportunities across Yorkshire. There’s no obligation to sign up for any of them, but if something catches your eye, just put your name forward. We’ll send you all the details you need, and you simply turn up on the day!

Tasks vary widely, so there’s something for everyone. You might help at a community clean-up, plant spring bulbs, hand out leaflets, put out grit or clear a path when it’s snowed for a neighbour. Or you could be handing out popcorn at a cinema event, making cups of tea at a social club, supporting someone with their digital devices, creating glitter tattoos at a children’s event, or writing letters to customers who are isolated.

There will be lots of varied things to help with!

RSPCA Milton Keynes & North Bucks

Do you love ebay? We are looking for volunteers skilled in online selling and photography to help turn donations into funds. You will have fun, contribute to making our eBay business a big success, and enable us to help more animals!

Overview of opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity if you are interested in collectables, researching unusual items, and love photographing objects to look their best! The time you dedicate would ensure that we made the most of the incredible donations to our charity shops, which means more funds can go towards our vital animal welfare work.

Volunteer eBay Coordinator responsibilities

• Researching and listing the items for sale in our dedicated eBay store.
• A picture is worth 1,000 words so ensuring that attractive photographs are taken to boost eBay sales.
• Packaging items appropriately before posting them to the buyer.
• Maintaining accurate records of listed and sold items.

What we are looking for in a volunteer eBay Coordinator:

• Basic knowledge of eBay and online selling platforms
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to take clear photographs and write accurate descriptions
• Basic computer skills, including familiarity with email and online payment systems
• Good communication skills and a friendly, helpful attitude
• Someone who is flexible and can offer an ongoing commitment

No Panic is a national charity at the frontline of accessible help for anxiety sufferers.

The No Panic Helpline is open 365 days a year between 10am and 10pm.

Those who call us can be struggling across a range of anxiety disorders: OCD; Panic Attacks; Phobias or General Anxiety Disorder.

We train our helpline volunteers to provide sufferers with all the information they need to begin the process of self-help recovery.

This is a remote volunteering opportunity where everything is done from home, including training, and there is never a need to attend elsewhere. This makes it the ideal opportunity for those with mobility or fitness issues.

Our volunteers work a 3-hour shift once a week.

Initial training is one evening a week for 8 weeks (for a small charge of £25 to cover costs), with backup support for the first 8 weeks on the helpline. There is continued support via bi-monthly support groups.

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated individual to take on the role of Community First Aid Network Leader who can work and lead volunteering groups and leaders in their own way, supported by our central teams

At St John Ambulance, we are looking to embed ourselves within our communities, delivering support which is tailored to the needs of those communities whilst providing a positive experience for our Volunteers.

We need leaders who are passionate about making a difference in their communities, who care about helping and developing others, who will lead and inspire a volunteer movement across a geographical area to deliver Community First Aid, Community Education and Community Fundraising as well as develop our offering for young people. Through leading a team of Volunteer leaders, you will drive excellence in delivery, develop an inclusive and diverse volunteering experience for new and current volunteers, and help navigate through change to build a bigger and better St John Ambulance.

As Network Lead, you’ll get a huge sense of satisfaction and pride through supporting a team and our volunteers to deliver our essential services. It’s great for you, great for your community and great for our nation.

We will make sure you will have access to a proper induction to volunteering with SJA and the training you need for the role you take on. We will also provide you with a supportive environment while you are volunteering with us. Information about our volunteer roles are included in the role descriptions. What you can expect from SJA, and what we expect from those who volunteer with us, is included in the volunteer charter.

Volunteers would be expected to attend training for the role both online and in person, to attend regularly network weekly meetings to enable them to keep their skills up to date.

If you are successful, you will need to undertake relevant training for the role, details of which will be discussed after you have been appointed.

RSPCA Milton Keynes & North Bucks

Do you enjoy problem-solving, have a knack for technology, and want to make a meaningful impact in a charitable setting? This is an exciting opportunity for an IT Volunteer to provide first-line support and assist with day-to-day IT operations. This is a hybrid role, mostly remote however there may be necessity to visit our main locations on occasion. It is ideal for anyone living in the Milton Keynes area who can commit regular time and enjoys working in a small, collaborative team.

Our IT team ensures smooth operations for staff and volunteers by managing systems and providing technical support. We currently use Google Workspace applications but are undergoing an assessment to transition to Microsoft Office.

The RSPCA Milton Keynes & North Bucks Branch

The Milton Keynes & North Bucks Branch is one of the branches of RSPCA, but we are also a separately registered charity looking after animals in our local area. Much of the animal welfare work of RSPCA is carried out through local branches, which is run by volunteers who have the support of the National Society of RSPCA.

IT First Line Support Volunteer responsibilities

• Monitor IT Support Emails:

• Check daily, sort and redirect issues as needed.

• User Management:

• Onboarding and offboarding staff and volunteers

• Creating and managing user accounts in Google Workspace

• Assigning email access and permissions

• First-Line Support:

• Triage incoming IT queries

Personalised Eating Disorder Support (PEDS) is the UK’s first and only nurse-led eating disorder charity. We provide early intervention, personalised support, training and advocacy for individuals, families and professionals. The Role

We are seeking a committed and values-driven Volunteer Treasurer to join our Board of Trustees. This is a key governance role, offering the opportunity to use your financial skills to support a high-impact charity at an exciting stage of development.

At Stoke Mandeville Spinal Research (SMSR), we’re dedicated to improving the quality of life for people living with spinal cord injury (SCI). Our research tackles some of the biggest challenges faced after injury — from pressure ulcers and urinary tract infections to chronic pain and poor mental health.

As we continue to grow our reach and impact, we’re seeking a new Trustee with knowledge of fundraising or income generation to join our Board.

The role: Our scholars are eager to meet graduates and professionals who can support them in achieving their ambitions. Mentors are mainly responsible for providing support and career advice to pupils. Mentors must also be committed to supporting us at our events, which take place in the evenings and on Saturdays throughout the term. These events include our scholar enrichment days, our parent and pupil information sessions and our volunteer social events which are held in London. 

Availability: Mentors must be available for approximately 2-3 hours a month to meet with their mentee, and discuss via phone, email or in person. There is a minimum commitment of one year (three terms).

In addition to this, you will need to support a minimum of 2 events throughout the year. Enrichment and skill-building events for our scholars usually take place in the evenings and at weekends, with events ranging from 2-8 hours in length.

Location: Mentoring sessions and events can take place online or in person.

Responsibilities: 

• Working collaboratively with parents to give students guidance and advice on how to achieve their aspirations

• Informing pupils of opportunities to them so that they can achieve their aspirations

• Meeting with pupils for one to one mentoring sessions

• Supporting pupils with university, sixth form or job applications

• Monitoring and reporting on each pupils progress

• Giving feedback to parents and programme coordinators

• Working collaboratively with other tutors and mentors

• Supporting at events including:

  • Collaborate effectively with other volunteers within the events team

  • Assist with setting up and clearing up at events

  • Support workshop facilitators with managing groups of young people or parents

  • Assist with the coordination of lunch or refreshments for attendees

  • Assist the event coordinator with ensuring the health and safety of attendees and overall risk management at events

When:

Hide Cleaner Volunteer

About The Role

At the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust we are involved in creating and conserving wetlands and the species who live in them.  At Washington Wetland Centre we develop and maintain visitor areas which provide enjoyable areas which enhance the visitor experience. 

What you will be doing:

• Cleaning and tidying of hides to include litter picking, sweeping out, window cleaning and shelf cleaning
• Maintaining approaches to hides

Volunteering as Hide Cleaner at WWT Washington is a great opportunity to get to see some of our best wildlife from the hides while you work, interact with a range people, including staff and visitors, and make a valuable difference to the upkeep and presentation of our reserve.

Volunteers are an essential part of the WWT team. You’ll get a warm welcome, including information on training, equipment and anything else you need.
