Job description

Peer Support is a vital part of the Manchester Living Well Service. Having a focus on lived and living experience within the team is both powerful and essential. Manchester Mind employs the Peer Support Worker, based in the Living Well South Team (Wythenshawe).  We are working in partnership with Greater Manchester Mental Health Trust and other voluntary sector partners – a real chance to make a difference. Would you like to be a part of that?

Working differently is a key part of Living Well and lived experience within the service delivery drives that understanding and empathic approach we work to achieve. As a Peer Support Worker, you will be supporting people one to one, working alongside colleagues from other partner organisations to build kind and trusting relationships, ensuring people feel heard and that choice and control remains central to their experience.

Job Title: Peer Support Worker

Salary: £24,966 p.a.

Hours: 35 hours per week

Annual Leave: 28 days + bank holidays

The skills and knowledge that are important to us are:

· Experience of building kind relationships where people feel heard and able to contribute.

· Ability to work in a strengths-based way that recognises the potential for people to develop and enable resilience.

· A commitment to working collaboratively to help bring about change.

You can download all application documents from our website.

The deadline for this post is 12noon on Friday 25th July 2025.

Manchester Mind is striving to be an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applications from all sections of the community. Manchester Mind sees it as a positive advantage if you have experience of mental health issues and/or have used mental health services, or had experience of volunteering.
