The Leprosy Mission (TLM) is the world’s largest leprosy-focused organisation, a pioneer in our field, with over 150 years’ experience serving people affected by this disease. As a leading international Christian development charity, we work in 10 countries across Africa and Asia to defeat leprosy and transform lives.
Today, one person every two minutes is diagnosed with leprosy. It’s a disease of poverty, striking the most vulnerable. Left untreated, it causes permanent disability. Stigma means that people affected by this disease are often rejected by those closest to them.

Job objectives

Support the trustees in the due diligence and evaluation of each applicant and facilitate the decision-making process for each application

Support the ongoing evaluation process of all successful applicants and ensure agreed measures and outcomes are reported back to the Foundation in a timely manner

Manage the external communication of the Foundation’s successes back to stakeholders and supporters, as well as other channels on social media, such as Instagram and LinkedIn

Manage the communication with the Access Group and maintain an open channel of communication with the charities team at the Access group

Manage the Admin and Grants Assistant and ensure all Admin processes as well as operational processes are running smoothly and make changes where required

Manage the use of the accounting package Access Financials to ensure processes are followed and grantees paid on time.

Duties and responsibilities will include

Write regular reports to the trustees of new applications, applications in progress and outcomes, inform and advise the trustees to achieve a swift decision on all cases

About the role
We are seeking an experienced individual to lead our volunteer development activity. Working closely with
the Fundraising, Delivery and Marketing teams, this is a varied role working with alumni and employee
volunteers to support activities in our member schools.
You will lead on the development of our volunteer community which is managed online through the Future
First Hub, and be responsible for developing and delivering a programme of activities that nurture
relationships with Future First’s diverse audience of volunteers, and increases support for the charity’s
fundraising and development goals.
You will have excellent customer service skills, be proactive and detail oriented and have the ability to
manage multiple projects at any one time. You will be confident in the use of standard office technology, as
well as experienced in the use of databases and IT applications.
Key Duties and responsibilities
- To be responsible for developing Future First’s volunteer relations strategy, and associated budget with a particular focus on the development of an engaged community, and a focus on the needs of employee volunteer schemes.
- To seek opportunities to raise the profile of the volunteer network, and grow its capacity and reach.
- To develop our work mapping and implementing recommendations against the Investing in Volunteers standard.
- To be responsible for running volunteer events and producing relevant communication materials.
- To participate in the strategic development of the Future First online Hub powering our school and volunteer community.
- To recruit volunteers and provide appropriate training and development opportunities, to include consideration of a volunteer board, and engagement activities targeted at the growing near peer volunteer community.

Salary and Holiday
This is a permanent position. The salary is between £34,000 and £36,000. Future First staff receive pro rata
28 days of leave (in addition to 8 UK public holidays) increasing one day per year of service up to 33.

The British Dyslexia Association (BDA) is a charity that represents the voice of people living with dyslexia. We aim to influence government and other institutions to promote a dyslexia friendly society that enables dyslexic people of all ages to reach their full potential.
This is an exciting new role for the BDA, which has been created with the purpose of recruiting, managing and supporting regional volunteers, leading specific outreach to groups impacted and disadvantaged by dyslexia and resulting life circumstances. The Volunteer Administration Executive will sit within the CoppaFeel! Education Team and will work closely with the Volunteer Community Executive and the Volunteer Community Manager. They will provide administrative support volunteer recruitment and onboarding; induction and training; support and supervision; and reward and recognition.
This is a remote-first role, which means you aren’t expected to come into the office. The only days you would be required to attend the office would be for our quarterly team meetings, quarterly department meetings and in person training. The Volunteering Team is a collaborative and supportive team sitting within Shelter’s Equity, Inclusion & Culture Directorate. We are passionate about the positive impacts of volunteering for both individuals and causes and believe volunteers are a vital part of Shelter’s Fight for Home.
Shelter involves around 2,000 volunteers in our shops, offices and local communities. The Volunteering Team enable a coordinated and consistent approach to how we involve volunteers across Shelter and Shelter Scotland. About the Role
As a Volunteering Administrator, you will be essential to the coordination of the Volunteering Team’s work in developing a consistent, inclusive and high-quality volunteering offer. You’ll be delivering administrative support across the team, enabling smooth delivery of the service. This will include managing our busy Mailboxes, processing elements of volunteer recruitment and administrating our volunteer database, Better Impact. Working on the database forms a large part of this role; as well as routine tasks such as data reporting, you’ll be working on more in-depth database development. This includes leading on a piece of work restructuring the way our database is set up.
You’ll also be supporting volunteer managers through delivering training demonstrations on our database, creating process guides and providing advice. You’ll provide additional admin support across the Volunteering Team, including coordinating meetings and managing agendas. You’ll be a key member of the team with in-depth knowledge and understanding on volunteering processes and policies to promote our volunteering culture across Shelter and Shelter Scotland.
With this role, we can offer the option of completing an apprenticeship in a related subject. This will involve spending approximately 20% of your work time completing education/learning for the duration of the apprenticeship. About you
Having strong administration skills with confident use of databases is essential for this role. We’re looking for someone who is comfortable taking ownership in processes, including introducing and delivering new ideas, methods or processes. Having a proactive approach and the ability to manage time effectively while working in a fast-paced environment are all important too.
Also important for this role is having excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with colleagues across our organisation. Experience of delivering training or presentations is a bonus, but more-so a willingness to develop your skills in this area. The Peer Support Coordinator will play a critical role in the delivery of Day One's Peer Support Service. The primary objectives are to ensure a high-quality service is delivered to our beneficiaries; to develop our regional peer support model; and to facilitate a positive volunteering experience for our lived experience volunteer team. Responsibilities will include the day-to-day coordination of peer support activity. The Peer Support Co-ordinator will monitor service delivery and volunteer activity to ensure it is operating within agreed policies and processes. To ensure we can evidence the success and quality of the service, a key aspect of the role will involve keeping accurate records of interventions as well as collecting regular evaluation/impact data and personal case studies.
You will be a compassionate individual, dedicated to ensuring the highest quality of support for our beneficiaries and volunteers alike. You will be empathic with strong active listening skills, able to demonstrate sensitivity and discretion in your communication with trauma-affected individuals. You will be adept at identifying individual’s support needs and have strong social/communication skills enabling you to facilitate appropriate and meaningful peer support matches. Possessing excellent organisational skills, you will thrive in the fast-paced and reactive environment of peer support service delivery.
You will be committed to maintaining high standards and have a keen eye for detail able to keep accurate records of interventions and collect evaluation/impact data with regularity. Additionally, you will have a proactive approach to building and supporting a diverse volunteer team. About Pancreatic Cancer Action:
Pancreatic Cancer Action (PCA) was founded in 2010 by a rare survivor of the disease. We are a small, creative and passionate team committed to improving early diagnosis and saving lives. In August 2020, Pancreatic Cancer Action merged with Pancreatic Cancer Scotland making our team stronger than ever.
Pancreatic cancer has only a 7% survival rate and this figure has not improved significantly for over 50 years. Despite it being the 5th biggest cancer killer in the UK, pancreatic cancer receives only 3% of overall research funding.
With a strong focus on early diagnosis, it is Pancreatic Cancer Action’s aim to improve survival rates through raising awareness, medical education, improved patient information and by funding research specifically into the early diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. Simply put, we want more people diagnosed in time for surgery, currently the only potential for a cure.
Main responsibilities:
- Develop and grow the annual programme of fundraising events such as the London Marathon and Great North Run.
- Grow and steward a pipeline of new and existing community and events audiences and fundraising opportunities with a particular focus on England. Ensuring to always maintain the highest quality supporter journey.
- Manage the delivery of the virtual challenge events. Add insight and support the annual Pancreatic Awareness Month Campaign and help to further develop Pyjama’s for Pan Can to new audiences.
- As a senior member of the Income Generation Team you will contribute to robust financial planning, management and reporting of income and expenditure in your own areas of expertise.
- Responsible for the delivery and recruitment into PCA’s Challenge Events programme making sure participants receive exceptional supporter care.
- Develop compelling and engaging third party fundraising materials to inspire supporters to reach their maximum fundraising targets.
