Green Allotments charity is seeking an appropriately qualified Archaeologist to provide occasional advice.
Our innovative work programme focusses on the purchase of land and the creation of allotments. Hence, we are keen to learn more about how to identify potential heritage issues which could affect the creation of allotments on the top layer of soil. Learning more about how allotments can be sensitively placed within historical environments will help our charity bring allotments to more people.
We are keen to work with you if you can interpret information held in open-data online records such as Historic Environment Records. Your valuable insights will help our charity decide if a tract of land is worth buying for allotments, or should be avoided entirely.
We are a small and friendly charity team, with three trustees, one staff member, and a team of volunteers. The charity is funded by a generous single donor. Everyone brings something special to Green Allotments, if you think your archaeological experience and knowledge could help our charity to grow please get in touch for an informal discussion.
Your specialist contribution will help our charity make important decisions on land purchase and locations for new allotment sites in communities. Demand for allotment is very high, people are desperate for a plot of their own, to grow food and teach their children about where food comes from. Your support will help put more locally produced food on tables.
Who we are looking for:
Our charity is currently creating allotment sites in England only. We can accept volunteers located in any part of the UK, as long as the volunteer appreciates they will be focussing on England-only sites.
Our CEO, Deborah, has been working with home-based geographically dispersed volunteers for 20+ years and is happy to fit around your time commitments.
Application process:
Please apply via our website. When you make contact with us, we will consider your application. If interested in learning more about you, we will invite you to an informal discussion via zoom at a time/date to suit you. Unsuccessful applicants will be notified by email within one week.
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.

Do you know your FYP from your CTR?
Can you build and manage a subreddit without summoning the mods?
And when we say “Shorts”, do you think watch time, hooks & retention - not what you’re packing for your next holiday?
Locate International are looking to expand our Media Team on a completely voluntary basis, with an average time commitment of around six hours per week.
Founded in 2019, we assist families in locating loved ones from unsolved missing persons cases and in identifying unknown deceased individuals.
By recruiting three volunteers - each specialising in TikTok, YouTube or Reddit - we can spread more breadcrumbs & ensure every case we take on has the best possible chance of being solved.
Our Media Team is a close-knit group of volunteers who meet via Zoom every Tuesday evening at 7pm (for one hour). Attendance at these meetings is important so we can support our Investigation Teams, plan appeals, and create a clear plan of action for the weeks ahead. We appreciate that availability can vary, but we ask that you attend as many sessions as possible to stay connected with the team and cases.
You will champion your platform - posting, monitoring engagement, and coming up with fresh ideas to help raise awareness of our cases. Sometimes this will be broad-reach content; other times it will involve niching down to target specific audiences who may hold vital missing pieces of the puzzle.
Everyone who volunteers with Locate International shares the belief that everybody deserves a name, and no family should endure the uncertainty of a missing loved one.
What we’re looking for:
TikTok Content Creator
Someone who understands trends, who can hook viewers in the first few seconds and encourage comments and sharing. You must be confident editing content directly within TikTok.
YouTube Content Creator
Someone who can create engaging, informative videos that encourage interaction. You should be confident with professional video editing, understand branding, and know how to craft compelling titles and optimise tags. Viral potential is a big plus.
Reddit Content Creator
A significant percentage of our website traffic comes from Reddit, yet we don’t currently have an official presence there. If you understand Reddit etiquette, the do’s and don’ts, and what’s involved in creating and managing subreddits - we need you.
What’s in it for you:
If you feel you have what it takes to be one of the volunteers we're looking for, please get in touch with your experience, expertise, and what you can bring to the Media Team.
At the heart of our mission is supporting investigations, improving practices, and ensuring every effort is made to find the answers people deserve.

Help us transform how the world travels! We are a pioneering travel social enterprise using global holiday getaways to fund community-led development and environmental regeneration. We need a visionary Head of Marketing to lead our brand strategy, proving that every journey can make a real difference.
The Mission: Reshaping the Journey
The travel industry faces a significant 'economic leakage' problem. While billions are spent on global holidays, only a tiny fraction reaches the local communities hosting those journeys. Yule Travel Group CIC exists to change that narrative.
We operate a unique, dual-impact model:
The Inclusive Empowerment Hub: Providing underrepresented UK individuals with the tools, mentorship, and ethical framework to build independent livelihoods as advocates for sustainable tourism.
Global Impact Initiatives: Our retail arm that facilitates world-class international holidays for the public, where 100% of the retained surplus is legally locked to fund global development.
Your Role as the 'Head'
We are building a marketing department consisting of three people: You (The Strategic Lead), a Content Creator, and a Partnership Outreach Lead. We don’t need you to design daily social media posts; we need you to lead the overarching strategy and ensure both 'arms' of our mission are perfectly aligned.
Brand Guardianship: Overseeing the distinct brand voices of our Empowerment Hub and our Retail Initiatives, ensuring they both communicate our 'Travel for Good' ethos with radical transparency.
Team Leadership: Guiding and mentoring our volunteer content and partnership creators.
Campaign Strategy: Designing high-level marketing campaigns that promote global holidays (from luxury escapes to family packages), which in turn fund our 'Four Pillars of Change.'
The Global Impact of Your Role
Your strategic leadership will be the funding engine for our global social projects. Because of our unique CIC structure, we rely on sustainable revenue from travel to fund our missions. The more journeys we facilitate and the more independent ambassadors we empower, the more surplus we legally safeguard to fund our initiatives.
By leading our marketing team, your impact acts as a massive multiplier. You will directly drive the success required to scale the 'Made From The Mekong' project. This initiative delivers digital literacy and English education to learners across off-grid villages in Laos, while simultaneously funding a circular economy that repurposes river plastic.
The Ideal Candidate
You do not need to be from the travel industry, but you must be a strategic thinker who understands how to build and protect a premium brand architecture.
3+ Years in Marketing Leadership: Proven experience in strategy, brand management, or campaign direction.
Audience Fluency: You know how to pitch an empowerment opportunity to a professional, and how to promote a world-class holiday to a consumer.
The 'Anti-Greenwashing' Guardian: You have a strict ethical compass and know how to market social impact with dignity and facts.
An Innovation Mindset: You want to come in at the ground floor of a dynamic social enterprise, move fast, and prove that the travel industry can be a powerful force for good.
Role Logistics: This is a fully remote, flexible volunteer role (4-6 hours/week). You will be managing other volunteers, not paid employees.
Our mission: ending economic leakage in tourism, ensuring every journey becomes a powerful funding engine for measurable global impact.

You will liaise with our Head of Fundraising and help to inspire and grow the current team. Think Tank experience, great communication skills and a love of dogs is a must. Although the role is remote there will be opportunites at the charity's main fundraising concerts and events to work alongside the team members in person. We are a fun loving dedicated group of like minded people and we would love to welcome you to the team.
