Khulisa, meaning 'nurture' in the Zulu language of South Africa, is an award-winning charity dedicated to providing therapeutic support to young people. We focus on reaching those who are most at risk – young people from deprived communities who are often marginalized, vulnerable to exclusion, and at heightened risk of becoming involved in crime.
Our approach centres on safe, exploratory methods that aim to understand behaviour and experiences often rooted in trauma, abuse, and neglect. We deliver intensive therapeutic programs within educational and community settings, empowering young people to confront the underlying causes of their emotional distress and work toward healing.

Currently, our services are active in London and Manchester.
Why now? After nearly five years in the role, our Head of Fundraising is moving on. Over the past two consecutive financial years, we have raised approximately £1 million – primarily through trusts and foundations, corporate donors, and individual supporters. As the successful candidate, you and the team you lead will play a pivotal role in maintaining this level of fundraising success, ensuring our vital work with young people continues to flourish.
The Role: We are looking for someone with a strong track record in fundraising and grant management, who is particularly motivated to join Khulisa because of a deep commitment to our mission – supporting the wellbeing and mental health of young people.
The post holder will be required to work from home permanently but be willing and able to easily travel to various locations as necessary to fulfill the requirements of the role and to engage with stakeholders and colleagues.

1.Duties and key responsibilities
Donor Stewardship and Reporting
•Research, manage and develop relationships with a portfolio of donors informing, educating, and inspiring them about MAP’s work, and asking them for donations either directly in application or facilitating asks by peers.
•Create a personal plan for each ‘qualified’ donor, taking into account the individual donor’s interest, motivations, giving patterns, any information they need to support our work. Execute that plan on a timely basis plan so that individuals are retained and upgraded.
•Work with colleagues to secure appropriate project information, including budgets, to create effective offers, proposals and cases for support.
•Create reports that accurately reflect activity and performance for donors who have supported specific projects, to show the impact of their gift
•Ensure that all major givers in your portfolio are provided with the highest level of stewardship and take overall responsibility for your own contacts and annual workplan.
•Ensure the upkeep of a database and filing system on all existing and prospective donors.

Accountability and relationships
The Chief Executive is accountable to the elected Council of Management. Regular contact is maintained with the Officers Group, and in particular the Chair.
The Chief Executive provides line management to the other members of the Senior Leadership and Management Team, and works closely with other members of the CAP staff team, and external partners.
Other details about employment
Duration: Permanent contract with six month probationary period.
Hours: 35 hours per week including occasional 'unsocial' hours, weekend working and overnight travelling for which Time Off in Lieu is provided.
Salary: Church Action on Poverty Salary Band L, starting at scale point 43 on the NJC scales (currently £52,805 pay award pending). Rising by increments after 3 years and every 2 years thereafter to point 46 (currently £56,073), paid monthly on the 14th day of each month.
Pension: Church Action on Poverty operates the Nest auto-enrolment pension scheme, and contributes a 10% employer contribution provided the staff member commits to making a 5% employee contribution.

About GMYF
GMYF is a long-established charity that works with young people across Greater Manchester to support their aspirations and create opportunities. We deliver a year-round programme of recreational and educational opportunities to young people within our stand-alone Centres as well as providing support to affiliated clubs.
GMYF opened our first youth centre in Partington in September 2022 and a second youth centre in Charlestown in July 2024. Youth Activites Lead - Main Purpose of the job
To lead day to day operations providing a ‘hands-on’ management role to play & youth workers, oversight of external providers delivering activities to young people at Norbrook. Leading and implementing an enriching youth work curriculum, quality assurance and health and safety standards, providing outstanding outcomes young people. Working with external partners and attending partnership meetings.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
Leadership and Management:
1. Provide curriculum and quality assurance framework for youth work at Norbrook, providing a vibrant enriching offer for young people including youth voice and residential activities
2. Provide regular one-to-one support, coaching and appraisal of direct reports including Continuous Professional Development (CPD)
3. Support the centre self-evaluation process to inform GMYF Self Improvement Plan
4. Support the wider running of the charity though attendance at meetings and events
5. Complete small scale funding bids to enhance the centre youth offer
Health and Safety:
1. Ensure centres meet health and safety standards/regulations including daily site checks, kitchen hygiene, risk assessments, fire drills, accident, and complaints logs
2. Provide clear guidance to centre staff and user groups on safe and compliant systems to ensure a safe, fit for purpose centre
3. Oversee all off-site trips and visits ensuring they are risk assessed, supervised, staff are briefed and staff understand their roles and responsibilities

Job Description
The role of CARA’s Child and Young Person’s Practice Manager is to lead CARA’s teams of Young Person’s Practitioners and Child and Family Practitioners and manage the provision of specialist sexual violence counselling for young people, play therapy and support for parents and carers. The post holder may hold a small caseload of clients and undertake some assessments, but the main emphasis of this role will be on the management, support and coordination of the team.
This is a varied and interesting role, giving the post holder opportunity to lead a talented and committed team of practitioners. As well as overseeing day-to-day operations of the team, the post holder will be part of CARA’s management team and will have the opportunity to play a key role in CARA’s wider development, working closely with the CEO and Deputy CEO. The post holder will work with our sister centres, SERICC and SOS Rape Crisis to gain an understanding of Child and Young Person’s services across Essex and coordinate these as appropriate.
Main Responsibilities
Leadership and Management
• To manage all operational aspects of CARA’s Child and Young Person’s Practice, including overseeing the delivery of our specialist young person’s counselling service, play therapy and support for parents and carers. This may also include managing any new Child and Young Person’s Practice projects that CARA develops.
• To work in accordance with CARA’s policies and procedures and embed a feminist approach in CARA activities.
• To co-ordinate, review and develop effective processes within the Child and Young Person’s Practice, working closely with the Deputy CEO, the Young Person’s Practitioners and the Child and Family Practitioners.
• To line-manage a team of Young Person’s and Child and Family Practitioners, providing day-to-day support, monitoring performance and identifying training and development needs. This will include keeping up to date notes of line management meetings and conducting and recording annual staff appraisals.
• Work with our Adult Practice Manager to oversee the work of a wider team of sessional counsellors, including supporting Practitioners in line managing sessional and volunteer counsellors and identifying training needs. This will include helping to co-ordinate a monthly sessional and volunteer counsellor meeting.
• To support practitioners and sessional counsellors in maintaining up-to-date client records and ensure that gaps in data are proactively addressed, as required.
• To work with CARA’s Deputy CEO to recruit and train new staff and sessional and volunteer counsellors, as required.
• To lead regular Young Person’s Practice and Child and Family Practice meetings, producing notes to share with team members and with senior management.
• To maintain an overview of waiting lists, working closely with practitioners and with the Deputy CEO and CEO to ensure that staff and resources are deployed effectively.
• To keep up to date with relevant legislation, policy and practice issues, including BACP and child safeguarding guidance and ensure the practitioners are aware of changes.
• To liaise with CARA’s other teams and more widely with Synergy Essex teams, resolving problems and ensuring good communication and mutual understanding of respective roles and ways of operating.
• To liaise with external agencies, including children’s mental health and social care, ensuring CARA is represented at meetings as required and developing effective relationships to ensure our services co-ordinate with statutory and voluntary services.
• To be part of the CARA management team and attend regular management team meetings, contributing to CARA’s ongoing development.
Counselling and client support
• To oversee client work within the teams, working closely with all team members to resolve client issues and ensure high quality service provision.
• To undertake client assessments and make appropriate arrangements for support.
• To provide specialist counselling for young people and/or play therapy for children and support for their parents, holding a small caseload of clients.
• To keep client records up to date.
• To work flexibly at CARA centres across mid and north Essex, providing face-to-face and remote sessions, as required.

GMYF is a long-established charity that works with young people across Greater Manchester to support their aspirations and create opportunities. We deliver a year-round programme of recreational and educational opportunities to young people within our stand-alone Centres as well as providing support to affiliated clubs.
GMYF opened our first youth centre in Partington in September 2022 and a second youth centre in Charlestown in July 2024. Youth Worker Summary
We have two roles available, a full time youth worker role and a part time youth worker role 17.5 hours per week.
The role of a GMYF youth worker is to be young person centred, providing a nurturing, safe and supporting environment for young people, building and maintaining positive relationships with them. You will be based at Norbrook Youth Centre working with 9-16 year olds, mainly in the 4pm – 8pm period. You will support the Youth Activities Lead in planning and delivering a full programme centre-based activities, as well as supporting our outdoor adventure team with outdoor activities and residentials.

About the role
We’re looking for a qualified Management Accountant with management accounting experience to join our Finance team.
This role is responsible for ensuring the accurate reporting of the charity’s income earned each month and to support in the forecasting of income for inclusion in the annual budgets and regular re-forecasts.
The role holder will provide explanations of variances to budget and/or forecast.
The role holder will work with the Income Operations, Income Generation and Finance teams to ensure processes around income are sufficiently robust to ensure the accurate reporting of income in the monthly management accounts and the minimisation of work to reconcile income received in the bank with income reported in the income statement.
The role holder will play an integral role in the successful implementation of the new finance system. Ensuring that the opportunities the new technology offers are integrated and that stakeholders see a noted difference in the reporting and analysis they receive from Finance.

What will I be doing?

The Finance Officer will join a small and dynamic team that covers Finance, Human Resources, IT and Business Operations. The Finance & Operations team play a critical role by running the day-to-day operations and providing the infrastructure that enables the continued delivery of the Trust’s mission and objectives.
The Sutton Trust is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Finance Officer to join the team and provide crucial support on a range of key finance processes. This is a fast-paced and hands-on role that requires an understanding of basic finance processes. You can expect a steep learning curve in a passionate and supportive working environment.
We have recently introduced a new accounting system and are looking for someone who is willing to learn, make the most of the improved technology and contribute to automating (and improving) our finance processes. The Team
This role will fit into the small Finance & Operations team and will be line managed by the Finance Manager.
Main Duties
- Maintaining the Purchase Ledger including processing supplier invoices, staff expense claims, grant and bursary payments, reconciling statements and making the relevant payments
- Maintaining the Sales Ledger including raising invoices and allocating receipts
- Cash management including checking bank transactions daily, allocating transactions on the accounting system and producing regular bank reconciliations. Paying in cheques and reconciling floats, if required
- Maintaining accurate records of both unrestricted and restricted fund transactions including receipts, grants, staff expenses, overheads and cash
- Providing timely and accurate financial support to the Programmes, Development and Research teams to assist them with forecasting, budgeting, reconciliation and (donor) reporting
- Supporting with the month end procedures such as balance sheet reconciliations, depreciation, month end adjustments, salary and overhead allocations
- Gathering monthly payroll information and reviewing monthly payroll reports
- Assisting with the administration of the pension scheme and of employee benefits
- Preparing quarterly Gift Aid claims and maintaining the relevant supporting documentation
- Assisting with the year-end statutory accounts preparation, audit and budget setting process
- Ensuring that the filing is done in a timely manner and that all paperwork is up to date
- Proactively updating your own knowledge in relation to the role, identifying and undertaking appropriate training
- Keeping up to date with legislation, policies and procedures relevant to the role and the Trust’s work

Terms of Appointment
- Contract: Full-time, Permanent (part-time considered)
- Salary: £33,000-£36,000
- Office location: The Sutton Trust, 9th Floor, Millbank Tower, 21-24 Millbank, London, SW1P 4QP. Our home working policy gives staff the option to work from home for up to 60% of the time, with approval from their line manager.
- Hours: The standard working hours are 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday and may also be required to attend events / meetings outside of their normal working hours during weekday evenings and occasionally at weekends
- A DBS check may be required

Specific Duties
- Manage a complex caseload across the field of immigration, nationality and asylum law.
- Adhere to casework procedures as outlined in LRMN’s policies, the IAA standards and the Advice Quality Standards (AQS).
- Interview and advise clients regarding immigration and asylum law procedure, and practice in a sensitive and professional manner.
- Maintain Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in line with IAA registration or similar professional body, e.g SRA.
