Often when we think about animal fostering, cats, and dogs spring to mind, but have you ever thought about fostering our smaller animals? The RSPCA received more than 5,000 reports last year about rabbits and other small furries relating to neglect or abandonment and rescued an average of 340 small furries a month! To help us with the rehoming of these small animals, we are actively looking to add to our fantastic team of volunteer fosterers.

As a small animal fosterer, you would play an essential role in providing the animals in our care with a temporary home whilst they are being rehomed. Like us, even small furries have specific needs and requirements, but rest assured, once we have guided you through the fostering process the animal centre will ensure that you have all the necessary guidance, equipment, food, and veterinary care.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Provide them with care, safe suitable housing, and space for playtime, as outlined in our policies and guidelines.

• Ensure that they are groomed if appropriate and fed and watered.

• Provide them with suitable and clean bedding to keep them cosy.

Our Friends Ageing Better (FAB) project is looking for volunteer hosts for our weekly FAB Phone Cafe. In this role you'll be helping to create a friendly, welcoming space and community connections with a group of older people facing isolation.

At Age UK Bristol, we want to change the way we age. We aim to keep people aged 55+ well and active, encouraging Bristol to be an Age Friendly city. Volunteer Role:

• This volunteer role is suitable for students planning to study counselling and psychotherapy. Or candidates with a psychology background looking to gain in-person skills leading to clinical training.
• This is to develop your conversational skills to be able to support people undergoing various states of mental health needs.
• Initially volunteers will greet participants, taking part in group activities and socialising with participants at the end of sessions. Over time they will be expected to hold 1:1 conversations with service users before and after groups and independently run enrichment activities or psychoeducation workshops.
• For all these activities they will be expected to make notes from the sessions and report to the Co-ordinator.
• This will also involve supporting evaluation and feedback processes.
• You will be given training in Safeguarding and monitoring to flag where participants need greater support.
• We would be keen to work with you to develop your own interests and use your existing skills to support the project.

4. Leaflet (business card size) – a pocket-sized introduction to SUNSHINE.

6. Brochures – highlighting our mission, programmes, and community stories.

7. Fundraising Drive Promotionals – vibrant campaigns to inspire giving.

Ranger Cadets is seeking dedicated, highly motivated individuals to assume the role of Uniformed Volunteer Leader (Cadet Officer/Instructor). This is a prestigious leadership position responsible for guiding, mentoring, and inspiring young people (aged 10-18) as they progress through our structured programme of citizenship, life skills, and uniformed service.

This role is ideal for those who thrive in a structured environment, possess strong leadership capabilities, and are committed to transferring their professional and life skills to the next generation of active citizens.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Uniformed Volunteer Leader, you will be the face and backbone of your local Cadet Unit, upholding the standards and ethos of Ranger Cadets.

• Leadership & Command: Assume command authority over a group of cadets, managing their welfare, discipline, and training during parade nights and activities.

• Structured Training Delivery: Plan and deliver structured weekly parade night sessions, focusing on drill, teamwork exercises, leadership tasks, and syllabus-based learning (e.g., first aid, citizenship, expedition skills).

• Mentorship & Development: Act as a visible, uniformed role model, actively coaching cadets through the rank structure and award schemes, helping them develop essential life skills and confidence.

• Administration & Compliance: Oversee necessary unit administration, ensuring all activities comply with safeguarding, health & safety policies, and Ranger Cadets' standards.

• Ceremonial Duties: Lead and participate in formal ceremonies, parades, and community events, representing Ranger Cadets with professionalism and pride.

We value proven leadership, structure, and commitment. While military or emergency service experience is highly desirable, we welcome applications from all professional backgrounds where leadership, organisation, and coaching skills are paramount.

You will be working alongside a small team including our founder and operations team, creating compelling digital assets and resources, including: 

- teaching resources
