Our holiday and weekend activities give parents and carers a break while providing participants with a safe, welcoming space to have fun and receive the care they need. Our coordinators plan, arrange and deliver a programme of activities shaped around the needs of the young people, making the most of local opportunities, from heritage sites and outdoor adventures, to sports, arts and crafts, cooking, and team challenges. These sessions help children build friendships, grow in confidence, and express themselves in a fun, supportive space.

Family day activities bring families together to create special memories and enjoy time with others who share similar experiences. Coordinators develop and facilitate activity days which involve the whole family and provide opportunities to build friendships and connections with others. Activities take place at outdoor centres, local heritage sites and museums, as well as organised beach days and community centre-based workshops and activities.

Applicants should have relevant experience of working or volunteering with children and young people in education, health or social care, and have exceptional organisational and communication skills. 

Full and part-time positions available, and coordinators are required to work most Saturdays.  In school holiday periods, more activities take place on weekdays (instead of Saturdays), so flexibility is needed. Activities are delivered across Kent, so some travel is required.

To support our range of children and young people, our team will be made up of specialist Youth Workers and Play Practitioners bringing in relevant skills and experience. Whilst you will work across all of our Children, Young People and Families services you will have a specific focus:

As a Youth Worker you will:

• Focus on supporting our secondary age cohort
• Plan and run appropriate and engaging activities
• Provide structured interventions to support vulnerable young people
• Work with referral partners to provide additional support and activities

As a Play Worker you will:

• Focus on our primary age cohort

Both roles will include an element of mentoring, relevant training will be provided to give you the necessary skills to deliver this.

To be successful in this role, you will act as a trusted practitioner in all our service delivery, advocating for children’s right to play throughout our programmes. You will work as part of the team on the delivery and planning of all sessions, ensuring that the children’s and young people’s ideas are central to the construction of a varied and engaging play environment. You will understand the wide-ranging challenges facing young people and will be flexible in adjusting your practice to meet these needs. While practitioners may have a primary focus (primary or secondary age), all staff are expected to work flexibly across all age groups, programmes and delivery model including open access play, targeted youth work, mentoring and school link sessions.

About the role:

This role is based in Staffordshire (we have an office in Stafford or Stoke). The caseworker will work directly with children and young people across the area; with hybrid working an option after the 6 month probationary period.

West Mercia Rape & Sexual Abuse Support Centre (WMRSASC) is seeking compassionate and experienced part-time Children and Young People Counsellors to join our well-established and highly supportive counselling team.
 
In this vital role, you will provide face-to-face therapeutic counselling to children and young people aged 5 to 18 who have been affected by sexual violence, abuse and/or rape. Working within a trauma-informed, survivor-centred framework, you will help young people feel heard, supported and empowered as they move towards recovery.
 
You will join a skilled multidisciplinary team that places clinical quality, safeguarding, reflection and staff wellbeing at the heart of everything we do, with access to regular supervision, accredited training and ongoing professional development.
 
Main Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality, trauma-informed one-to-one counselling to children and young people aged 5–18 who have experienced sexual abuse and/or rape.
• Complete and maintain initial assessments, risk assessments and risk management plans, reviewing these on an ongoing basis as required.
• Maintain accurate, timely and ethical clinical records in line with legal, safeguarding and organisational requirements, including pre-trial therapy guidance.
• Ensure that children and young people understand the counselling service and are able to give informed consent, applying Fraser Guidelines where appropriate.
• Support safe and effective professional practice through regular clinical and case supervision and ongoing CPD, in line with BACP requirements.
• Maintain professional membership and appropriate insurance, practising in accordance with the Ethical Framework of the relevant professional body.
• Engage in ongoing CPD and professional development, keeping abreast of best practice and emerging issues relating to sexual violence, abuse and trauma.
• Contribute positively to a safe, professional and accessible counselling service, working collaboratively with the Counselling Team, volunteers and service managers.
• Liaise appropriately with other professionals and agencies where required, maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times.
• Support the service’s monitoring and evaluation processes, including outcomes and feedback, to ensure quality, accountability and sustainability.
• Uphold the rights of the child, promoting autonomy, choice and participation within the counselling process while maintaining appropriate safeguarding boundaries.
• Actively promote equality, diversity and anti-oppressive practice, ensuring inclusive and respectful support for all service users.

About the role

As a CYP Team Leader you will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, trauma-informed and child-centred services. This includes supporting staff to manage complex cases, maintain high safeguarding standards, and ensuring that service delivery meets contractual requirements and organisational expectations. The role combines people management, operational leadership and partnership working, with a strong focus on achieving positive outcomes for children and young people.

About You

• Experience of working with children and young people in a safeguarding or support context, ideally within criminal justice, victim support or related services.

About the role

As a Children and Young People Caseworker you will:

• Deliver excellent services to Children and Young People who have been victims of crime through the direct provision of information, practical and emotional help from the point of crime and where appropriate.
• Help Children & Young People cope and recover from the effects of crime.
• Act as a single point of contact, undertaking effective need and risk assessments.
• Coordinate the overall delivery of the cope and recovery plan and recovery journey, working closely with other service providers to meet the needs of victims.

You will need:

• Previous experience delivering a service and working directly with service users in a statutory, voluntary or community work setting.
• Previous experience of working with vulnerable CYP.
• To be able to work without direct supervision, prioritising work and managing competing demands.

Job Description

Beacon Victim Care provides tailored support to help victims of crime cope, recover, and move forward. We are looking for a passionate and experienced Specialist Children and Young People Caseworker to deliver enhanced support to young victims of crime across the service.

In this rewarding role, you will build trusted relationships with children and young people, providing practical and emotional support through a trauma-informed and person-centred approach. You will manage a caseload of medium and high-risk cases, complete assessments and support plans, and help young people understand their rights and the criminal justice process.

You will also deliver awareness sessions, preventative interventions, and engaging activities within schools, youth settings, and community venues. Working collaboratively with partner agencies, you will help develop strong referral pathways and ensure safeguarding remains central to all practice.

As a specialist practitioner, you will support colleagues through coaching, sharing best practice, and helping to develop creative approaches that improve outcomes for children and young people affected by crime.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths (minimum)
• Experience working with vulnerable children and young people
• Knowledge of safeguarding and risk management relating to CYP
• Experience delivering projects, interventions, or engagement activities for young people
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

In your first year 

You will play a key role in coordinating the delivery of Young Citizens’ education programmes, ensuring schools, teachers and partners have a positive experience from registration through to programme completion. You will manage programme administration, communications, scheduling and logistics, and act as a main point of contact for participating schools and stakeholders. 

You will also support monitoring and evaluation by collecting feedback and impact data, helping to demonstrate outcomes and inform programme improvements. Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, you will contribute to refining systems and processes to strengthen the quality and reach of Young Citizens’ programmes. 

Through programme coordination, stakeholder engagement and operational support, this role delivers: 

• Strong relationships with schools, teachers and partners.

• Efficient administrative and communication processes.

• Accurate data and insights to evidence impact and improve delivery.

An ambitious, well-established charity that helps people facing adversity to find jobs, homes and the right support they need. Central to our ethos is our belief that people with first-hand experience of successfully overcoming issues such as an offending background, homelessness, addictions and gang involvement, hold the key to positive change in others.

You will provide one-to-one mentoring sessions within schools, creating safe, confidential, and supportive spaces to 40 young people annually who are affected by criminality, exploitation, gang involvement, or the justice system, improving their safety, wellbeing, and life outcomes.

We will rely on you to maintain a visible, integrated presence within schools to identify risks early and sustain engagement with young people vulnerable to criminal exploitation and to work collaboratively with Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs), pastoral teams, and wider school staff to ensure mentoring complements existing safeguarding and support frameworks. Producing risk management plans based on assessments, promoting inter-agency collaboration in the assessment and planning process, is also a key aspect of the role.

• Knowledge of trauma-informed practice and its application when working with vulnerable or high-risk young people

Job Purpose

To work as a member of Gaddum Therapeutic Services which includes Counsellors, Social Workers, Art Therapists, and Play Therapists.

To provide therapeutic support to CYP who have become stuck in their grieving process following a bereavement of a significant person. This will include one to one work and occasional group work which will usually take place at the child’s school, community venue or remotely via telephone or online video.

To offer advice and guidance to professionals and carers who contact us following a child’s complex bereavement. Effective working relationships with parents, carers and other professionals will be a crucial element of the role.

 

Main Duties

o To be accountable to the CYP Therapy Coordinator.

o Act as an initial point of contact for family members and professionals considering a referral to the service or requesting advice and guidance.

o Provide support in the grieving process, offering advice, making an initial assessment of need and signposting to other services where appropriate.

o Following assessment, offer therapeutic intervention to CYP, supporting their adjustment to loss and building resilience. Interventions should meet the assessed needs of each individual.

o Ensure all involved with the CYP understand the complexities of a bereavement, including those experienced as a result of trauma.

o Maintain case records, monitor and evaluate your work in line with the organisations processes and protocols.

o Undertake regular reviews with family members and other professionals as appropriate.

o Ensure effective multiagency working with other professionals.

o Work to Gaddum’s policies and procedures.

o Ensure Safeguarding procedures are carried out in line with relevant legislation and Local Authority requirements.

This role spans accross Berkshire and includes planning and delivering a programme of activities adapted for all levels of sight loss with the aim of building the skills of children and young people under 18 and supporting their development so that they can become tomorrow’s independent visually impaired adults, leading the lives of their choosing.

The successful candidate will be able to build strong relationships with children of all ages,  and their families,  and be able to work well both leading their own project and as part of the wider team. We are looking for someone with a passion for supporting people to live enriched lives, and therefore you should be someone who is able to work innovatively and be an advocate for our services.
