Our centres provide a high-impact education programme which includes practical learning support, pastoral care, and motivational and confidence-building activities for young people aged 7-18. Our aim is to enable students from the least advantaged neighbourhoods to realise their ambitions and achieve their wonderful potential.

As the UK’s leading university access organisation, our staff team is helping 56,000 young people each year at its 44 learning centres and extension projects across England and Scotland, and we plan to scale-up our provision to 50 centres over the coming years.

We are looking for a high-calibre candidate who will enjoy working each day with young people and who will thrive in a frontline, community-based, fast-paced and rewarding role. You will be taking up a permanent role as Centre Leader at our IntoUniversity centre in Bridlington. You will have responsibility for running your IntoUniversity centre, including managing your team, planning and delivering the programme, liaising with external stakeholders and meeting  IntoUniversity’s targets for delivery.

A substantial element of this role is delivering our education programme to children and young people aged 7-18, so you will need to have a genuine passion and enthusiasm for working with young people, including leading a class of 30 from the front, working with small teams of children and providing one-to-one support.

Centre Leaders are based at one of our IntoUniversity learning centres and work directly with young people, schools and families on a daily basis. It is therefore not a hybrid role and is based full-time in our centres

The role requires intermittent travel in your region (usually within the day). Periodic travel out of the area is also required e.g. to London, this may include occasional overnight stays. 

Salary

£36,400 per annum.

About the role

The Research Officer supports Kinship in building a strong and coordinated evidence base about kinship families, and ensures our influencing work is grounded in real experience.

The role supports the design, delivery and communication of high-quality research, insights and evaluation that shapes policy, practice and service development. It also supports the coordination and operational delivery of research and practice activity, helping ensure projects, networks and events run effectively and that insights are shared across the organisation and the wider sector.

They will work closely with colleagues across the organisation, including Policy, Programmes, Peer Support and Communications. It will ensure that research and insight are gathered and used consistently and that the experiences of kinship carers, particularly those from underserved communities, are central to our work. This role could be hybrid or remote.

Key responsibilities include:

• Design and deliver qualitative and quantitative research that improves understanding of kinship families’ needs, experiences and outcomes.

• Lead data collection through surveys, interviews, focus groups and desk research.

• Carry out analysis using suitable methods to produce accurate and meaningful insight.

• Ensure research reflects the diversity of kinship carers, including carers from ethnic minority communities, mixed heritage families, informal kinship carers and carers experiencing additional barriers.

• Maintain strong ethical standards and follow GDPR requirements.

• Developing and supporting participatory research methods with carers, children and young people.

• Support evaluation of Kinship services including peer support, training and digital programmes.

• Develop tools and approaches that help gather feedback and evidence of outcomes.

• Analyse programme data to highlight trends, gaps and opportunities.

• Provide evidence that strengthens Kinship policy positions and external influencing activity.

• Contribute data and insight to briefings, consultation responses and reports.

• Support opportunities for kinship carers to participate in research in a respectful and inclusive way.

• Manage the Kinship Professionals’ Network and the Kinship Care Researchers’ Network, working with the Practice Lead to plan and schedule meetings, coordinate agendas, record and minute meetings and share insights across the organisation. 

• Support the planning and delivery of research and practice events, from consultations to knowledge exchange events.

Essential requirements include:

• Experience completing mixed methods research including design, fieldwork, analysis and reporting.

• Experience working in a research, evaluation or insight role in a charity, academic or public sector setting.

• Experience producing accessible research outputs for different audiences.

• Experience engaging with underrepresented communities and understanding barriers to participation.

• Experience of kinship care or social care research in the UK or comparable settings

• Excellent project management skills with an ability to manage multiple projects and tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.

• Strong analytical and data interpretation skills with experience of R or equivalent statistical languages.

Responsibilities and Person Specification:

This role supports Independent Age’s media/ PR and social media programme, with a 50/50 split between these areas, and will help deliver our ambition to tackle poverty in later life, build the organisation’s reputation, and raise our profile across multimedia channels. 

Working closely with the Media Communications Manager and Senior Digital Content Officer, the post-holder will work on communication projects across all areas of the charity to raise awareness and understanding of Independent Age, grow our influence and drive potential supporters to our activities (including our information and advice, fundraising, volunteering and campaigning). 

You should have experience of media liaison and securing press coverage, as well as familiarity with all social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter/X, BlueSky, Instagram and LinkedIn), and ideally a foundational knowledge of the associated reporting and analytics for them.

YES care about young people's mental health, sexual health and wellbeing. The Outreach and Support Officer will deliver knowledgeable, high-quality, youth-centred support to young people in various settings.

Experience we're after

• A nationally recognised youth work qualification or ability to demonstrate experience of frontline youth work delivery, understanding of contextual safeguarding and data protection is highly desirable.

• Experience of working with young volunteers and/or social action projects.

• Demonstrated experience in digital engagement and communications activities—especially creating content with young people.

• Experience of using digital platforms to engage networks and communities.

• Proven track record of project coordination, event management, or logistical planning within a youth or voluntary sector setting.

• Experience working in place-based contexts and understanding how to engage local communities and young people meaningfully.

• Confident engaging with and coaching young people to take on new opportunities, lead campaigns, tell their stories, or influence decisions.

The Brent Centre for Young People 

The Brent Centre for Young People (BCYP) is the leading mental health charity for young people in Northwest London, helping over 800 young people a year with a wide range of issues. We offer specialised treatment in the areas of depression, suicide prevention, self-harm, eating disorders, exam anxiety and more. Our approach is rooted in psychoanalytic psychotherapy. We aim to reach significantly more young people in the years ahead, drawing on our heritage that combines specialist treatment in-house and outreach into communities. The Brent Centre is also an important Research Centre on Adolescent Breakdown and Psychotherapy. 

The Role

As HR Officer, you will play a role in bringing structure, consistency and clarity to Brent Centre’s HR processes. You will deliver practical, people-focused support across the employee lifecycle, from recruitment, onboarding to contract changes, developing and updating organisational policies, helping to strengthen and develop how HR supports colleagues across the organisation.

Working closely with the Administration and Finance Manager, you will act as the first point of contact for day-to-day HR queries, ensuring they are handled promptly, accurately and in line with Brent Centre’s values. You will support colleagues and managers to use HR systems effectively, interpret and apply policies correctly, and follow clear, consistent processes. You will maintain accurate information across our HR systems (Bright HR and SharePoint HR Intranet) and ensure HR data is complete, compliant and up to date.

As a local grant maker, Young Camden Foundation's grants processes and operations are key to our success. This role will suit an adaptable and organised team player, who is up for a challenge and keen to learn. 

You will lead and develop YCF’s significant grant-giving programmes, organising and improving the grants process, keeping donors in the loop, and communicating the impact of the small grants programmes, and coordinating support from the team to ensure this work is well supported. In this role you will oversee both YCF’s small grants programmes to members, and also YCF’s delivery of the Holiday Activities & Food Programme, which together amount to around £900,000 per year in grants out to Camden’s youth sector.

You will lead on YCF’s operations, including clerking to the Board of Trustees, ensuring timely applications and reporting to funders, and overseeing all aspects of YCF’s operations. You will be supported by our Operations & Administrations Apprentice. You will support the CEO across YCF’s partnerships, cultivating our pipeline of funders, including Trusts & Foundations and corporate donors, and spotting and supporting opportunities wherever you can.  

As a natural team player working in a small team, you will spot opportunities to support  YCF’s membership (especially regarding grants) and the other functions of YCF’s work. As a place based organisation, you will ensure you are known in the local community, and amongst our key stakeholders, including grassroots VCS partners, Camden Council, and our key funders.

Along with the CEO and the Head of Membership & Impact, you will support YCF’s partnerships, including with business neighbours, spotting opportunities to amplify YCF’s work. In this important and dynamic role you will lead on both, working closely with the CEO to also support fundraising and partnerships.

Main Purpose of the Role

Grants management:

· Grants management: You will direct and lead the YCF small grants programmes (including Small & Mighty Fund, Holiday Opportunities Fund and Heads Up Mental Health Fund, of around £150,000 p.a.), including leading on design and guidelines, engagement with YCF’s grants committee structures, and reporting back to Trustees and funders. You will lead on grants decisions processes and communications, as part of YCF’s membership offer. You will oversee all due diligence processes as part of YCF’s grant giving offer, and ensure smooth reporting cycles with grantees

· Strategic oversight of HAF: Strategic leadership of the Camden HAF programme, overseeing the HAF Programme Manager in the stewardship of this DfE programme, and retaining oversight of key deliverables, together with the Heads of Children’s Commissioning at Camden Council

Fundraising and reporting:

· Fundraising: You will maintain our pipeline of supporters, including of our grants rounds, and lead reporting for YCF’s grants and core funding to funders, supported by the team. You will ensure timely funding applications submissions Together with the Head of Membership & Impact, you will support the CEO in all fundraising for YCF and our programmes, including identifying funding and partnership opportunities, drafting bids and pitches, and so on.

· Reporting: You will oversee and deliver timely reporting across YCF’s funders. You will manage and be supported by the Operations Apprentice to ensure smooth and timely processes. You will ensure YCF’s monitoring and evaluation frameworks are fit for purpose. You will work with the rest of the team to ensure this function is properly and efficiently supported, and will proactively identify ways to more efficiently record and report on information to funders, including effective use of our CRM.

Operations and governance:

· Operational leadership: You will be responsible for YCF’s operational running as an organisation, ensuring our processes are smooth and fit for purpose. In practice, this may include supporting the CEO in operational and strategic planning, supporting budget oversight (and leading in the areas of grants). Supported by the Operations Apprentice, you will oversee YCF’s HR processes for onboarding, recruitment and so on.

· Governance: You will support YCF’s governance processes, due diligence and compliance, ensuring YCF is compliant with our charitable obligations, and ensure our policies are up to date and we are compliant with them.

· Board minute taking: You will take minutes of YCF’s Board meetings, and ensure actions are followed up with, and oversee the Operations Apprentice in the setting up of meetings and logistics. You will support the CEO and Chair with the preparation of papers, as needed.

Steel Warriors was established in 2017 to rethink how knife crime is tackled by turning a symbol of violence into one of strength and resilience. We transform the lives of marginalised young people by recycling knives seized by the police into outdoor calisthenics gyms and create positive change in communities. We provide classes at our five outdoor gyms across – Lambeth, Tower Hamlets, Newham, Haringey and Enfield – and deliver programmes in schools (including pupil referral units), youth and sport clubs, and in Brixton Prison. Our coach mentors deliver high quality, inclusive calisthenics sessions alongside mentoring and employability sessions

The Head of Programmes and Safeguarding role combines strategic leadership with strong operational oversight. The postholder is responsible for leading the design, development and scaling of high-quality services, supporting their team to perform effectively, and ensuring that programmes deliver meaningful outcomes for participants. They will work closely with colleagues, delivery partners, funders, young people and board members to drive programme development aligned with the organisation’s strategy, theory of change and ultimate goal of young people being safer, healthier and feeling more connected and positive about the future. The role requires an exceptional organiser and team leader able to manage a range of priorities, coordinate people and systems effectively, and maintain high standards across delivery areas.

Our Operations Director will lead the development of the operational infrastructure required to scale Fruitful Work nationally and internationally. Working in close partnership with the Founder & CEO, this role takes ownership of the systems, processes, team and organisational rhythms that enable the charity to grow rapidly and sustainably. This is a senior, hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys building from the ground up, turning vision into reliable execution, and creating the foundations that allow a small team to deliver outsized impact.

You will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the organisation and lead the recruitment and management of a growing operations team as Fruitful Work expands.

Role Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to shape Shine’s strategic direction while managing the operational delivery of our services for children, young people, and families aged 0–25. Building on the success of our Little Stars/Ser Bach programme for members aged 0–12 and the development and extension of the FIRE (Friendship, Independence, Resilience, Empowerment) programme for those aged 13–25, you will play a key role in shaping the future of our support for children, young people and their families.

Working across England, Wales, and Northern Ireland, you will lead the delivery of an established, evidence-based programme that improves health, social, and emotional outcomes for those living with spina bifida, hydrocephalus, and associated conditions.

You’ll lead a passionate team and work closely with Shine’s Adult Services Team (25+), Health Team, Wales and Northern Ireland Managers and wider colleagues across the organisation to ensure work is coordinated, complementary, and beneficial to members. At the same time, you’ll forge strong partnerships with NHS professionals, statutory services, and voluntary organisations—driving collaboration that will support our vision of providing consistent, high-quality support for children, young people and families nationwide.

The Head of Trusts and Foundations plays a pivotal role in the delivery of this vision, leading on the significant growth of restricted and unrestricted funds through this income stream. You will line manage a Trusts & Foundations Manager and a Trusts & Foundations Officer, collaborating closely with them in order to drive success and deliver against target. You will be personally responsible for securing new high value multi-year relationships (six and seven figures) as well as stewarding a range of existing high value relationships. You will also play an important leadership role across the organisation, working with colleagues in all departments to ensure an efficient and effective approach that delivers for children and young people and youth workers and organisations across the capital. 

What you will be doing

• Lead on the development and implementation of a successful trusts and foundations strategy that achieves £2.5m of restricted and unrestricted income by the end of 2026 and delivers growth from 2027. 
• Offer inspirational leadership to the Trusts and Foundations Team, line managing a T&F manager and a T&F officer. 
• Take overall responsibility for developing and managing a robus pipeline of trusts and foundations and statutory funders that enables London Youth to hit its income targets, coordinating the distribution of responsibilities across the team, including the implementation of a quarterly mailout.
• Work in close collaboration with appropriate teams across London Youth to ensure all applications and proposals produced by the team are compelling, accurate, produced to the highest possible standards, and submitted to deadline. 
• Ensure contracts or MOUs are in place with all funders and that all conditions and reporting requirements are clear and met. 
• Ensure all information is recorded in an accurate and timely manner on Salesforce, enabling you to track progress against monthly income targets and KPIs, and expertly steward and manage all relationships with funders. 
• Lead on the development of the annual Trusts and Foundations budgets and the monthly review of management accounts for your area. 
• Produce appropriate reports and presentations for team, directorate, senior team, committee, and board meetings. 
• Prepresent the fundraising team in leadership team meetings and senior meetings as appropriate when required. 
• Contribute to wider fundraising and communications led activities such as site visits, Lunch and Learn sessions, the London Youth Awards, and external networking opportunities. 
• Ensure you and your team understands the external funding environment, spotting trends, identifying opportunities, and making informed strategic recommendations for how London Youth should be operating in such an environment. 

What you bring to the role 

Knowledge and Experience: 

• Proven ability to lead and manage a trusts and foundations team and deliver growth through this income stream. 
• Experience of successfully delivering six and seven figure funds. 
• Proven ability to lead and collaborate with delivery, finance, policy, data and learning, and senior teams to develop applications and proposals. 
• Proven project management skills. 
• First class relationship management skills. 
• Demonstrable knowledge of UK and London funders. 
• Ability to undertake rigorous prospect research and build and manage a robust pipeline.
• An analytical approach with experience of regularly recording and reporting on data, including an ability to interpret financial data. 
• Experience of acting as an organisational ambassador in a range of outward facing contexts. 
• Awareness of Fundraising Regulatory Framework.
