We’re looking for an experienced Evaluation Manager to join our team of researchers and analysts to deliver and develop our evaluation projects, to help build an evidence-base for engineering and technology outreach activities and shape how we use this evidence to inform our own and others’ practice.

This role offers the opportunity to apply your expertise in designing, implementing and reporting on process and impact programme evaluations – most of which focus on young people - utilising quantitative and qualitative methodologies, conducting evidence reviews, and working collaboratively with key stakeholders. You’ll work with colleagues to embed learnings and develop advice and guidance to support the engineering outreach activity more widely.

About the role

At EngineeringUK we use evidence to make a real difference. Through research insight and robust evaluation, we work to improve the impact of our own work, as well as that of other organisations in our sector. Our aim is to make a positive difference to young people’s lives and securing the diverse engineering and technology workforce the UK needs to thrive. The research and evaluation team consists of 6 researchers and analysts who work to provide these insights.

This is an exciting opportunity to deliver and develop our evaluation projects, to help build an evidence-base for engineering and technology outreach activities and to shape how we use this evidence to inform our own and others’ practice.

With support from the Head of Evaluation and Impact, you will be the operational lead on our evaluations, with responsibility for:

• critically assessing the evidence required to ascertain impact of engineering and technology outreach activities across a complex landscape, with an emphasis on groups historically underrepresented in the engineering and technology professions
• designing and managing the evaluation of our educational programmes, including the practicalities and logistics of collecting/analysing these data, and reporting findings to internal and external stakeholders
• working with colleagues to embed learning from evaluation findings into our future activities and the wider evidence base on the impact of engineering outreach activity
• developing advice and guidance on evaluation and impact measurement to support the engineering outreach community to evaluate their activity more robustly.
   

This job would ideally suit an experienced monitoring and evaluation professional interested in evaluating education programmes with a focus on increasing opportunities for young people from underrepresented groups.
 

We believe that hybrid working has many benefits and are pleased to offer flexible working with a minimum of 2 days (or 40%) a week in the office and the option for a flexible start and end to the working day in our vibrant central London office overlooking the Thames and may involve some travel in the UK for evaluation fieldwork. Essential Skills / Competencies

• Knowledge of and experience in using evaluation techniques/practices, ideally with familiarity of education outreach programmes
• Ability to design and use quantitative and qualitative data collection tools and analyse these data using widely used analysis software (for example, SPSS, STATA, R, CAQDAS)
• Experience in undertaking literature searches and reviews, identifying relevant evidence, appraising its quality, and summarising the body of existing work
• Excellent time and project management skills, with experience working on multiple projects at once, adapting to changing priorities, and meeting hard deadlines
• Demonstrated ability to lead evaluation projects independently, from conception to dissemination
• Proactive in identifying evaluation opportunities and driving projects forward
• Ability to work independently and prioritise own tasks and time, but also take direction, be flexible and work collaboratively with others, contributing to team decisions and facilitating cross-organisational working

As a Future Frontiers Partnerships Manager, your role is to identify, develop and maintain mutually beneficial partnerships with organisations which work with us to enable our mission. This is key to delivering our work and making a lasting difference for young people from under-resourced backgrounds on their education and career journeys. 

The focus of the role is on building meaningful, long-term relationships with schools and/or businesses, to match young people from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds with business professionals who can provide insight into the world of work and guidance to help young people unlock their aspirations and develop the plans and skills they need to be successful. 

Our Partnerships Managers each have a focus on a priority audience, either schools or businesses, and on an activity area, either new business development or account management. The role we are currently recruiting for will have a main focus on driving new business from companies. 

Your responsibilities

The focus of each role could expand or change depending on the needs of the organisation. About you

Experience and knowledge  

• Experience in a fundraising, sales or account management role, ideally working with businesses and/or schools (essential)

The role

As Partner Engagement Manager you will promote the work of Family Fund and maintain a positive profile within the disability sector in Northern Ireland and with key Government/political stakeholders.

You will undertake a range of public affairs and policy activities that help sustain and grow our government funding and that secure positive outcomes for disabled children and their families. You will be acknowledged as a senior Family Fund representative across the disability sector, deputising for the Group CEO, or Directors on committees and at events as required.

You will also identify growth/income opportunities and feed through to relevant internal teams, providing follow up support, as required.

• Ensuring that Family Fund’s profile remains high amongst key organisations.
• Engaging with Ministers and MLAs to building awareness and support for Family Fund’s work.

Main duties and responsibilities

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join IRMO as our Youth Project Coordinator and lead the Latin American Youth Forum (LAYF) – IRMO’s youth-led group for migrant and refugee young people aged 13–19.

LAYF offers a safe, supportive and trilingual space (Spanish, Portuguese and English) where young people can overcome barriers and begin to find their feet in the UK. Activities are designed to build confidence, support integration and foster leadership. Through the programme, participants can learn English through fun and engaging ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) classes, take part in weekly educational, arts-based and themed workshops, and receive one-to-one support through a targeted coaching programme focused on education, volunteering and employment.

Young people also have the opportunity to join the LAYF Youth Steering Group, where they can develop leadership skills and inspire other Spanish and Portuguese-speaking young people, while exploring London and beyond through cultural trips and residentials.

As Youth Project Coordinator, you will be responsible for registering and onboarding new participants, designing and delivering a creative weekly programme of LAYF Space Workshops, and offering one-to-one mentoring to help young people access opportunities and build confidence. You’ll work closely with IRMO’s ESOL and Advice and Advocacy teams to ensure a joined-up and holistic approach.

We’re here to prevent children and young people becoming involved in violence. We do this by finding out what works and building a movement to put this knowledge into practice.

In recent years violent crime has risen significantly. Homicides, assaults, robberies and offences involving weapons have all seen sustained growth. We have also seen large increases in violent crime involving children and young people. This is a tragedy. Every child captured in these numbers is an important member of our community and society has a duty to protect them.

The Youth Endowment Fund (YEF) is a charity with a £200m endowment and a mission that matters. We exist to prevent children becoming involved in violence. Our mission is to find what works and build a movement to put it into practice. A big part of the movement that we need to build is in the world of policing. We need to inspire and connect with police forces across England and Wales to spread what works and make our country safer for some of our most vulnerable children. We are looking for someone to lead on making this happen.

Key Responsibilities Include:

We are making good progress building the evidence of what works within and around policing to reduce violence, with new Practice Guidance and implementation resources on diversion and focused deterrence. But the big risk is that we publish guidance and nothing changes. That’s where you come in. Your role is to work out the best way to make this change happen by getting more senior leaders within policing to use our Guidance, toolkit, research and implementation tools to inform day to day operations and strategic decision making. This will involve:

• Developing great relationships with senior leaders and frontline police officers, generating a strong understanding of key policing issues, needs and behaviours, and building credibility and trust with the sector. 
• Developing, managing and tracking the change plan to get more senior leaders to be aware of and use our Guidance, tools and resources, continuously looking for data-driven improvements.
• Creating practical tools and resources that help leaders put evidence into action.
• Supporting police forces, violence reduction units, and police and crime commissioners to develop or strengthen evidence-based practices, including focused deterrence, hotspots policing, and problem-orientated policing.

The Research Initiatives Manager is a crucial role at the College, as you will work closely with senior clinicians to lead a series of projects and activities to feed into the development and delivery of child-health research initiatives. The initiatives include research awards, research events and research capacity and capability building, by embedding academic skills into the paediatric workforce and enabling academic research.

As Research Initiatives Manager, you will also lead on the RCPCH Genomics Programme which aims to develop and deliver a series of resources and activities related to supporting the preparedness of our membership for the era of genomics medicine.

Based within the Research and Evidence team, you will be the operational lead for relevant Committees and working groups, acting as a representative of the College to represent the views of paediatricians, whilst ensuring timely reporting of progress to Project Boards.

With a degree or equivalent experience with a research, health science, life sciences or genetics/genomics component, you should have a proven understanding of the national funding landscape and infrastructure for clinical research.

An expert at providing senior project leadership, you should have experience of collaborative ways of working across multidisciplinary teams and programmes of work, along with demonstrable experience of producing high quality written reports, documentation and promotional information suitable for a range of audiences.

At Young Lives vs Cancer, we have our own unique role to play in reaching the North Star. We know our strengths and where we can have the most impact to best support children and young people with cancer. Within our new strategy ‘The Time is Now’ we set out four strategic ambitions, the first stating we will continue to be a major service delivery provider: offering high quality, impactful services. We are proud to lead the way in delivering high-level, psychosocial support and accommodation services throughout cancer treatment, end-of-life, and bereavement and we want to ensure our investment in this area is optimised to make sure we always provide the tailored support that children, young people and families need and that our services remain relevant.

You will be joining an established operational leadership team who are committed to continuous service improvement. Service Managers play a key leadership role in the management and development of a region, which is made up of three social work teams located alongside Principal Treatment Centres which are Leeds, Newcastle and Sheffield. Your responsibilities will include delivering service standards, and compliance. You will interface with NHS stakeholder colleagues to promote effective governance and multi-disciplinary relationships with a focus on smooth referral pathways. The team meets weekly to discuss management of the overall service-this effectively allows all team members to play an active role. The key skills we’re looking for in this role are:

• Qualified and registered Social Worker with management experience in social care services for children young people and families.
• Experience of working in partnership with young people and their families.
• Evidence of experience of collaborative interagency working and managing strategic stakeholder relationships
• Understanding of oppression and the barriers that marginalised people face, and strong commitment to deliver anti-oppressive practices 
• Current knowledge of relevant legislation, national policy and guidance in health and social care 
• Highly skilled communicator with professionals and partner organisations; young people and their families with evidence of collaborative working.
• Ability to develop, motivate and empower staff and develop high performing teams whilst offering skilled support and management of performance.

The Jon Egging Trust is seeking an exceptional Finance Manager to uphold and enhance our existing strong financial infrastructure whilst our current postholder is away on maternity leave. This role involves managing day-to-day financial reporting systems and controls, providing forecasts for bids, ensuring financial plans align with budgets, and meeting external reporting requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial management: maintaining robust financial reporting systems and controls, and line managing the Finance Assistant.
• Fundraising support: providing accurate financial forecasts for bids and meeting fund reporting requirements
• Budgeting: ensuring financial plans are in line with budgetary constraints.
• Accounts production: leading the production of monthly management accounts and communicating to operational managers.
• Re-forecasting: handling budgeting and re-forecasting processes.
• Compliance: communicating effectively with auditors and the external finance committee.

Candidate Profile:

• Accounting experience: minimum of two years in relevant financial management roles in a charity or non-profit.
• Essential Skills:
• Preparation of monthly management accounts and reporting
• Lead on delivery of the annual and half year budgetary process
• Develop budgets for funding applications and providing financial support to fundraising
• Strong communication skills, capable of translating complex financial information.
• Highly methodical and organised in record-keeping and analysis.

On 20th August 2011, Flt Lt Jon Egging lost his life whilst completing a display at the Bournemouth Air Festival. He was coming to the end of his first year with the world-famous Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, the Red Arrows, flying in the position of Red 4.

Jon was an inspirational individual, and inspiration is at the heart of everything we do.
