The Role
This is a work from home post and can be based remotely anywhere within the UK. There will be the need to travel to meetings in London occasionally and travel to our services across England and Scotland on an ad hoc basis.
As the newly appointed Business Development Finance Partner, you will work closely with the Head of Business Development and Director in identifying and evaluating new opportunities as well as working across the Organisation to support ongoing contract management and financial business management activities.
You will support our operational leadership across the UK to evaluate, monitor and review the financial aspects of new business opportunities, leading on financial elements of tenders and grants as well as contract management and risk appraisal processes.
The position provides an ideal opportunity for individuals with a strong finance background (qualified or part-qualified accountants) to develop and enhance their careers through transitioning into a business management role.
You will be part of a passionate and skilled Business Development team, supporting the vital work delivered by Phoenix Futures across the UK.
About You

The Team
The Business Development team are responsible for leading on new and emerging opportunities to support people with substance misuse issues – securing opportunities to deliver residential rehabilitation, community, housing and prisons services.

About the Team
This role is part of the Communications, Policy, and Campaigns (CPC) team, which drives Shelter's ground-breaking campaigning efforts.
The CPC team leads initiatives advocating for social housing, renters' rights, and ending the housing emergency.

The Director of Operations will work as part of the management team to develop and implement the organisation’s strategy and operational plans and to build the longer term sustainability of the organisation. About the role
This is an exciting senior role for an environmentally committed leader to cover maternity leave. We are looking for someone who can take strategic oversight of our Green Space for Health programme and provide effective management of the project and its staff.
Our Green Space for Health programme helps to realise the value of green space for physical and mental health, both at healthcare sites and in the wider community. Our flagship project, the NHS Forest, promotes tree planting and woodland creation at NHS sites, supporting and encouraging sites to plant and maintain trees through offering free trees and advice. We support NHS sites to develop their greenspace for the benefits of patients, health staff and communities, while improving biodiversity and combatting climate change. We do this by encouraging green space enhancements such as meadow areas, vegetable growing, orchards and therapeutic gardens, as well as supporting the delivery of nature-based interventions for health.
The Green Space for Health Director will oversee the development of the NHS Forest and other Green Space for Health projects, delivering the programme strategy. This will include managing the Green Space for Health team, overseeing the delivery of our funded projects including budget management, coordinating reports to funders and trustees, and taking a strategic lead on the development and funding of the Green Space for Health programme in consultation with other stakeholders. The Green Space for Health Director will deliver our programme strategy through fulfilling the following responsibilities:
- Provide line management for the Green Space for Health Team’s 5 staff members. This will include one-to-one meetings, appraisals and regular team meetings.
- Oversee the delivery of the Green Space for Health funded projects, including NHS Forest tree planting projects and our Nature Recovery Ranger programme.
- Raise income for, monitor and oversee the programme budget in consultation with CSH’s fundraising and finance team.

Regent’s Park College is a Permanent Private Hall within the University of Oxford. It admits undergraduate and graduate students some of whom are candidates training for Baptist Ministry. The Principal is Sir Malcolm Evans. The College is a charity and a limited company. It has a self-appointing advisory Council of 50+ members of the Charity, from which the Governing Body (Board of Trustees/Directors of the Company) is elected.
Regent’s Park College wishes to appoint an experienced Clerk to the Governing Body and its committees. The successful candidate will be an excellent minute taker with a strong understanding of matters of governance and policy. As well as providing the administration for Governing Body meetings (agendas, papers, minutes), the successful candidate will ensure that the Governing Body and the College are meeting the requirements of the Charity Commission and the legislative and regulatory framework within which the College operates.
The Clerk to the Governing Body will provide practical administrative support to the Governing Body and will be responsible for the production and circulation of agendas, papers and minutes. Through the effective planning and management of the annual agenda of business, the Clerk will ensure that the Governing Body receives items of business, such as Financial Accounts, Audit Reports and college policies for renewal in a timely manner. The Clerk will also support the wider Governance work of the college by maintaining the Register of Interests, updates to the Charity Commission and Companies House and assisting in the College’s ongoing review of its statutes and bylaws.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Service College Council (once per annum) and Governing Body meetings (once per term), usually on a Saturday (3 Saturdays per year)
- Servicing GB sub-committees (e.g. Finance, Nominations, Remuneration, Risk and Compliance).
- Preparing the College annual report and various returns required by the University.
- Responsible for statutory annual returns, e.g. OIA (Office of the Independent Adjudicator), Prevent.
- Maintaining trustee gift and risk registers.
- Oversight of legal compliance and other policies.
- DBS verifying officer.
- Freedom of Information Officer and Deputy Data Protection Officer
Person Specification and Selection Criteria
Essential
- Graduate or equivalent qualification or experience;
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to deal confidently with a wide variety of people;
- Experience of servicing committees;
- Problem-solving skills, with the ability to exercise judgement and take initiative;
- Ability to work in an organized and methodical fashion with attention to detail and accuracy;
- Excellent command of the English language (oral and written), and strong numerical skills;
- Excellent administrative and IT skills appropriate to a Windows-based office;
- Ability to manage own workload, prioritise work and deliver to deadlines;
- Discretion and an understanding of the demands of confidentiality;
- Knowledge of charity governance and relevant legislation;
- Flexible attitude towards duties and a willingness to work flexibly within the fluctuating demands of the College/University calendar.
Desirable
- Experience of a University environment;
- Knowledge of Oxford Colleges and University system/s;
- Experience servicing a Governing Body, Council, Board of Directors/Trustees or similar;
- Knowledge of data protection legislation;
- Clerking accreditation qualification, certificate in Charity Law and Governance or similar;
- Sympathy with the aims, objectives and values of Regent’s Park College;

This varied role uses event and programme management skills to deliver excellent service in a fast paced environment within the Christian sector as we advance the work of The Maclellan Foundation, one of the largest Christian family foundations in the USA. The successful candidate will have excellent administration skills, with a minimum of 2 years experience, and will be engaged in the Christian faith and excited by the aims of the organisation.
Objectives/Key Tasks:
To provide event and project-specific administrative support in an accurate, timely and professional manner, including:
- Planning and co-ordinating multiple programmes, to ensure milestones are met to an excellent standard
- Conducting research, assembling and analysing data to prepare reports and documents
- Preparing and editing written correspondence, communications, presentations, publicity etc
- Managing booking and registration processes
- Managing and updating various databases on a regular basis
- Onsite event management; helping set up and run events as well as providing delegate support
- Providing customer service support, via phone and email
- Managing and maintaining schedules, appointments and travel arrangements
- Arranging and coordinating meetings, including minute taking
