Main duties and responsibilities:
· Directly assist the Chief Executive and the Board on all strategic and tactical financial matters

· Accountability for the SIRO, SORP and Charity Commission Guidance and corporate governance with specific reference to financial company secretary functions
· Accountability for the collection and processing of financial data to ensure decisions and strategy are informed by accurate integrated information and analysis
· Ensure accrual accounting is central to the Trust’s finance systems to provide an accurate financial picture
· Oversee the financial management and accounting systems and be accountable for all finance and finance-related administration systems

Key Accountabilities, Responsibilities & Tasks
Departmental & Role Specifics
· Seek out methods and practices to minimise financial risk, cyber security breach and fraud
· Support the Board of Trustees in the discharge of their responsibilities for reserves
· Accountability for the three year rolling financial plan of the Charity
· Manage the cash flow of the Charity, ensuring the Charity meets its liabilities as they fall due and implement the Trust’s Savings and Investment Policy and Financial Free Reserves policy.
· Co-ordinate the Charity’s insurance requirements, liaising with insurance brokers to ensure adequate insurance cover is maintained and ensure claims are dealt with
· Accountability for performance to contract and contract review with our external ICT providers
· Overall accountability for the hard and soft facilities annual plan and health and safety compliance supported by the Head of Operations
· Support the implementation of EPOS and accurate and timely financial information on trading
· Undertake benchmarking exercises from time to time to assess value for money.
· Disaster prevention planning, review and implement the Charity Business Continuity Plan
· Excellent analytical and numeracy skills with accuracy and consistency
· Skilled in evaluating performance to contract, constructing tender processes and executing them effectively
· Strategic and operational risk management
· Prepare and monitor financial reports with explanation of variances, including management accounts and cash flow forecasts
· Develop our commercial portfolio, including competitor analysis for market entry
· Train and supervise staff to support assurance of adherence to the charity finance policy and procedure
· Complete the statutory year-end accounts; manage the audit for the Charity and its trading subsidiary
· Reconcile and submit the Charity’s Annual Partial Exemption Special Method for VAT recovery
· Report to the Trust’s Leadership Team and Board on financial matters including explanation of variances, and the financial position of the Trust and its subsidiary and on any issues requiring action.
· Ensure rapid counting, receipt and banking of donations to minimise the differences in reporting between two different systems (access dimensions and donorflex) ensuring the Joint Directors of Fundraising and Income Generation Committee have timely and accurate information
· Co-ordinate the Board’s Finance & Resources committee; agenda, meeting dates, and review of relevant financial policies and the annual audit of accounts
· Lead budget and forecasting processes, develop, maintain and update effective procedures and standards on budget, financial control and productivity.
· Advise and assist Department Heads and budget holders
· Bank reconciliation, Quarterly VAT Submission (Making Tax Digital),
· Month-End and Year-End Process
· Model the impact of planned pay awards with accountability for annual adjustments

Qualifications, Skills, Experience, Knowledge & Approach
· Qualified ACA or ACCA accountant
· 10 years’ experience in all aspects of accounting/finance for medium sized organisations
· Excellent current knowledge of PAYE and VAT
· Management responsibility for a finance team
· Oversight of IT functions
· Completion of accounts and audit information packs and resolution of issues as specified by the Auditors
· Presenting and interpreting financial information to a range of stakeholders

We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity for a Schools Coordinator (Impact Officer) to work as the primary link between partner schools and the CYUK programme.
Join a youth social action charity challenges 18 to 25-year-olds to tackle educational inequality through a year of full-time social action. As mentors, tutors and role models in schools, they support pupils growing up in some of the most disadvantaged areas of the UK.

The Role
We have a rewarding opportunity for a School Impact Officer to train, support and develop volunteers and monitor the programme through effective administration, data management and to build a deep partnership between the school and the charity.
The Impact Officer is based predominantly in a school and is the primary link between the partner schools and the programme and is the enabler of the programme delivery. You will support a team of volunteer mentors, who support school activities by coordinating, managing and evaluating the programme.
The Volunteer Mentors also complete a Leadership and Development programme and you will work with them on a professional development plan to chart their continuous professional development and ready them for employment.
The role is primarily a school-based post from Monday to Thursday and is based in a regional venue on most Fridays. See locations above.

What the job involves
The Health Information Coordinator is a vital role supporting a busy team that creates health information and communications for men who have been diagnosed with prostate cancer or those at high risk of developing it.
You’ll have the opportunity to play a key role in keeping all the health information on the website up-to-date and in line with the Patient Information Forum’s PIF TICK quality standard. As well as coordinating and editing the team’s social media communications. Supporting the promotion of our resources both internally and externally, you’ll help to evaluate the effectiveness of the service we provide.
The role is responsible for making sure all our health information publications are in stock, so we deliver an effective health information service for men and their families affected by prostate cancer. You’ll also develop and maintain administrative systems to support the team’s work including financial processing.
This role is fixed term until end of October 2026 covering an internal secondment.

We’re looking for a pro-active and highly organised person to join our team. You’ll be self-motivated and able to multi-task, supporting a busy team while keeping on top of your own projects. You’ll have experience of communicating in plain English across multiple platforms including social media and our website. This is a senior, hands-on post that combines strategic oversight with day-to-day delivery across all core operational functions - including HR, governance, IT and data, finance administration, and internal systems. You will lead the development and continuous improvement of the charity’s infrastructure, ensuring we are well-run, compliant, and set up to deliver real impact. Working closely with the Chief Executive and senior leadership team, you’ll take ownership of the systems and processes that enable our frontline work and support our future growth. The role involves both direct delivery and coordination - particularly through managing relationships with key external service providers in IT, HR, and finance. You’ll ensure these partnerships are effective, responsive, and aligned with the organisation’s needs. There may also be future opportunities to line manage an Operations Assistant or similar role, as the organisation continues to grow and develop its internal capacity. We Are Survivors are looking for a Nightingale Navigator to join the team. You will support the direct delivery of our Nightingale services that supports the non-offending family and loved ones of survivors who are engaged in the Criminal Justice system.
You’ll play a key role in supporting clients, managing communications and working in partnership with all Nightingale Project members. You will work closely with our Independent Sexual Violence Advisors, Community Development Co-Ordinator’s to provide support at different parts of a victims Criminal Justice journey, as well as supporting the development and delivery of community-based interventions for their families and loved ones. Support and coach managers to implement and apply organisational policies and procedures, employee development including appraisals, personal development plans and succession planning.
