About you:

We’re looking for a driven and detail focused professional to join our Housing Services Team as a Senior Housing and Income Officer. In this pivotal role, you’ll help ensure our housing services remain financially secure while supporting our clients to sustain their tenancies and build brighter futures. Working closely with our Housing Services and Supported Accommodation teams, you’ll combine practical problem solving with empathy and determination to make sure every client has the best chance to thrive.

You’ll take ownership of rent income management - overseeing complex accounts, tackling arrears, approving adjustments, and managing legal actions with precision and care. You’ll spot risks early, keep everything running to time, and ensure our policies are followed to the letter. Alongside this, you’ll share your knowledge with frontline teams, providing guidance, training and benefit updates that empower others to achieve consistent, high-quality rent collection.

We are currently operating a blended working arrangement, that includes working from our Head Office in Kings Cross for a minimum of 3 days per week, as well as flexible occasional travel to our accommodation services across London. There is also some potential for home working, in agreement with the Head of Property Services.

The weekly working hours are 37.5 hrs, to be completed between 9am-5pm Mon- Fri, with occasional need to work outside of these times in the event of an emergency.

ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a proactive and knowledgeable HR Advisor to join our central HR team. You’ll support a group of academies, providing expert guidance on HR policies, employee relations and workforce initiatives, while contributing to projects that shape the future of education.

MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivery of a generalist HR advisory service to the Federation and our Academies, providing up to date and informed HR guidance and support on HR policies, processes and systems
• Providing professional advice and support to Federation and Academy leaders in all areas of HR practice and employee relations such as grievance, disciplinary, performance management and sickness absence management, escalating complex cases as appropriate to the Head of HR and HR Business Partners
• Supporting the HR Business Partner with organisation change programmes including redundancy, restructuring and TUPE transfers; preparing documents, supporting planning, due diligence completion etc.
• Participating in the development and delivery of HR policy skills workshops for line managers and academy HR
• Assisting with end-to-end employee lifecycle and payroll processes
• Preparing HR documents and create and maintain templates
• Producing management information reports
• Evaluating job descriptions and providing advice and guidance on salary bandings to ensure a consistent and fair approach
• Assisting with the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures

You should be able to demonstrate:

• Experience providing generalist HR advice on terms & conditions, application of policies and first line employee relations
• Up-to-date knowledge of employment law & current HR practice
• Qualifications to degree level, or equivalent experience
• At least part qualification to CIPD Level 5 or equivalent by experience with a willingness to study
• Excellent spoken and written communication skills
• Confidence and ability to develop and maintain professional relationships at all levels
• Discretion and diplomacy, with the ability to adhere to confidentiality requirements

Policy Specialist (Children and Young People)

We are currently looking for a Policy Specialist to join Mencap. This position sits within the Policy and Public Affairs teams of Mencap’s Campaigns, Advocacy and Activism Directorate (CAA). You will work closely with our influencing, information and advice, campaigning, and research work, as well as sector partners like the Disabled Children's Partnership. 

This is an exciting new role to deliver policy change and enhance the rights of children and young people with a learning disability. At a key time to influence Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) education reform, we are seeking a policy specialist to shape policy work that reflects the needs and experiences of children, young people, and their families. Working within the policy team, you will be responsible for developing evidence-based policy work and influencing decision-makers.

This is a full time position (37.5 hours per week). We are flexible with your work location, but there may be some occasional travel needed to our London office or Westminster.

You will: 

• Translate complex work into clear and persuasive policy briefings, consultation responses and reports.
• Work within wider coalitions of charities, building collaborative relationships and ensuring that the needs and priorities of our community are addressed.
• Develop and expand Mencap’s ‘Policy Shapers’ work, ensuring our work reflects the experiences of children and young people with a learning disability and their families.
• Support our information and advice team, briefing them on important developments, inputting into casework discussions relevant to your areas of work, and supporting the creation of public information resources.
• Represent Mencap at meetings and events, with MPs, civil servants, and sector partners.
• Identify and analyse relevant research to develop evidence-based policy recommendations.

You will bring to this role:

• Experience of working on public policy issues.
• Strong communication skills: experience tailoring your messaging to a variety of different audiences and representing an organisation.
• Experience building positive relationships and working collaboratively to achieve outcomes; able to positively challenge, negotiate and compromise.
• The ability to work on your own initiative while contributing to team priorities and sustain enthusiasm under pressure.
• Experience analysing evidence to develop recommendations.
• Knowledge the issues facing children and young people with a learning disability and/or the SEND system, as well as the wider parliamentary system. 
• Passion about making the world a better place for people with a learning disability.

The Early Intervention Coordinator is a key role within the School Based Needs Service, working as part of the borough and district-based community teams, comprised of NHS staff and third sector workforce under the umbrella of The Surrey Wellbeing Partnership. This team will build support around schools offering a wide menu of services across a cluster of schools based on borough/district boundaries.

The role of the EIC is to deliver and support children and young people through one- to- one direct work, small group sessions and signposting to specialist services. These interventions will be delivered across a network of secondary schools in the Runnymede, Surrey Heath and Waverley areas.

Responsibilities 

1. Design, deliver and review evidence-based interventions for children and young people which aim to improve mental health and well-being and build on existing strengths

• Assess the needs and strengths of the referred young person and help them identify individual goals to achieve desired change (Goal Based Outcome Assessments).

• Manage own caseload of children and young people facing a wide range of issues, in both one to one and group settings, to address emerging needs and help build resilience, develop coping strategies and improve their mental health & wellbeing.

• Provide advice, guidance and signposting to young people and their families, that will connect them to resources that will support young people’s wellbeing.

• To operate at all times from an inclusive values base, which recognises and respects diversity and ensures all work is sensitive to a range of ethnic, cultural and religious groups, is gender sensitive and anti-discriminatory.

2. Develop and maintain relationships with key school staff in secondary schools and Schools Based Needs Team

• Work in close partnership and collaboratively with pastoral staff in school, Surrey Wellbeing Partners, Surrey and Borders NHS Partnership, Surrey Children’s Services, local Mental Health Support Teams and other community-based services to provide the most effective service for children, young people and families.

• Ensure that children and young people with more intensive support needs are put in touch with relevant Intensive Intervention services (whilst continuing to provide support until the intensive support is in place).

3. Impact, Monitoring Evaluation and Reporting

• Accurately record individual engagement and evidence of change using appropriate outcomes data to ensure support programmes can be accurately monitored and evaluated. 

• To collect and share case studies that demonstrate good practice and the impact of interventions on outcomes for children and young people.

• Work with colleagues and line manager to ensure that your work is aligned to organisational strategy, key objectives and annual plans and budgets.

4. Personal Development/Other Duties 

• Keep up to date with good practice, legislation and policies that have an impact on service delivery at Eikon

• Work within Eikon’s internal policies, safeguarding, health and safety, and data protection regulations

• Work as part of a team to lead and inspire collaboration across Eikon

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Insights and Evaluation team at Dementia UK in a pivotal role that promotes a culture of learning and evaluation across the charity.

As the Insights and Evaluation Advisor, you will lead and support evaluations that measure and communicate the impact of Admiral Nursing and wider Dementia UK initiatives. You will design and deliver robust evaluations using both quantitative and qualitative methodologies, ensuring high standards of data quality, ethical practice and GDPR compliance.

Working collaboratively with colleagues across the charity, you will provide expert advice on evaluation design, data collection and analysis, to develop datasets that drive evidence-based practice. In addition, you will support Admiral Nurses to build their evaluation skills, enabling them to measure and communicate the difference they make to families affected by dementia. By embedding insight into projects and services, you will help turn data into meaningful action, informing decisions, campaigns and improving outcomes across Dementia UK.

To succeed in this role, you will have a First Degree and demonstratable experience in a relevant discipline e.g. health research and evaluation, health service improvement, public health and social research. You will need strong evaluation, research and project management skills including advanced quantitative and qualitative data analysis.

Additionally, you should be confident working independently and collaboratively, with the ability to influence and advise colleagues at all levels.

About Women in Prison

Women in Prison is a national, women-led, feminist organisation. We deliver front line support to women harmed by the criminal justice system, through our work in prisons, in the community and ‘through the prison gate’ as they resettle back into their communities. We also campaign for systems change that addresses the root causes of offending, reduces the harmful impact of prison, and creates workable, community-based alternatives to imprisonment.

Job Purpose:

The Family Advocate will provide trauma-informed specialist support to women in the community and in prison who are at risk of losing custody of their children/have already experienced child removal. This role will also upskill colleagues, and work with Children’s Social Care teams to improve the response to women impacted by the criminal justice system.

Key Responsibility Areas 

1.      Provide high-quality, trauma-responsive support to women in contact with the criminal justice system, who are at risk of experiencing/have experienced child removal. 

2.      Provide expert advice and support to colleagues, including upskilling through information and training sessions on Children’s Social Care and family court processes, and increase Children's Social Care teams' knowledge and understanding on women in the criminal justice system.   

3.      Develop effective relationships with key stakeholders, such as Children’s Social Care, probation, prison, to ensure a collaborative approach to women’s needs. 

4.      Monitor case management systems to ensure accurate and timely data recording, aligning with contract KPIs and WIP policies.

About The Role

Work pattern – We have some flexibility but Thursday and Friday will need to be covered

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Dementia Adviser to join Alzheimer’s Society in Bridgend. You will be part of a collaborative and supportive team of Dementia Advisors working in Bridgend. You will also support colleagues in Bridgend as part of the wider Cwm-Taf-Morgannwg team. You will play a crucial role in helping people navigate the complexities of dementia. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of those affected by dementia, providing essential advice and guidance at some of their most challenging times. We strive to help maintain independence, improving sense of well-being, and putting people in more control of their own lives. We promote a person-centred service so that our support is unique to everyone, based upon their own aspirations and needs

About the Team: Community Team

There are three Community Teams - North, West and East. These teams of housing rights workers engage with and activate communities in delivering insight and evidence and targeted interventions, to address local issues and contribute towards the Shelter Scotland Housing Emergency campaign for structural change. We work to the three equal parts of our Community Purpose:

• We challenge bad practice: In the face of Scotland’s housing emergency, we will hold local duty bearers to account and defend people’s rights.
• We build capacity: The supply issues at the heart of the Housing Emergency in Scotland create an unsustainable demand for housing services in Shelter Scotland, across the sector and in sectors traditionally beyond housing. We build capacity within affected organisations and groups to respond with and for the people they support.
• We strengthen our case for change: We work closely with our Comms and Advocacy colleagues by providing useful insights and context about what is happening locally. We create opportunities for people with lived experience of housing and homelessness to lend us stories which bring the real issues behind the statistics to life.

Our North Team covers regions from Fife northwards and operates out of our two regional offices in Dundee and Aberdeen with the team spread across these locations.

In our North Community Team, we are engaged in our local communities to understand the housing issues people are facing to gather insight and evidence around the broken system, and we apply our expertise to work toward solutions. We seek to work with and within communities to build capacity and drive action around housing rights and the housing emergency. Lived experience of the housing emergency is at the heart of everything we do.

About you

Already with some relevant experience, you’re used to working with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, have great time management skills and enjoy collaborating with people from other teams and organisations. The ability to listen to, engage and empower individuals and communities will be key. So will your willingness to challenge practice and hold people to account – including influencing decision makers. Adept at presenting information and arguments in clear and compelling ways, you have a real enthusiasm for delivering workshops and presentations too. What’s more, you’re a creative problem solver with an innate ability to gather evidence and identify insights, issues and trends and are proficient using Word, Excel, email, the internet and in-house CRM systems.

• Enable are seeking an experienced Smoking Cessation Advisor to play a key role in shaping, developing and implementing an innovative stop-smoking pilot programme in London.
• Reporting to the Health Promotion Manager, this role will involve working closely with health care providers and community stakeholders to develop and design an evidence-based, behaviour change intervention, aimed at reducing smoking prevalence across targeted populations.
• This is an exciting opportunity for a specialist with expertise in tobacco dependence, behaviour change, and public health programme design to lead the development of a smoking cessation pilot. 

Main Duties/Responsibilities:  

• Develop a high-quality smoking cessation pilot programme
• Conduct needs assessments and analyse local smoking prevalence data to inform programme design. 
• Lead on the design, development, and delivery of a high-quality stop-smoking pilot programme, tailored to meet local population needs. 
• Develop training materials and resources for facilitators delivering the programme. 

Specialist Support and Advice 

• Provide guidance and advice on evidence-based smoking cessation strategies, including behaviour change support. 
• Provide high-quality smoking cessation behavioural support and pharmacological advice, in line with evidence-based practice, to individuals wishing to stop smoking or using tobacco products. 
• Advise on compliance with relevant NHS, NICE, and local authority guidelines. 

Stakeholder Engagement and Communications 

• Support stakeholder engagement, community outreach, and communications to promote the pilot and ensure effective collaboration. 

Evaluation and Continuous Improvement 

• Evaluate the effectiveness of the pilot programme through data collection methods such as questionnaires and focus groups with participants. 
• Identify and report areas of success and opportunities for improvement, providing recommendations for future programme development. 

Skills and Experience:  

• Educated to degree level in health, social care, public health, or significant professional experience in smoking cessation. 
• Proven experience working within local authorities, the NHS, or similar public health settings. 
• Completion of the National Centre for Smoking Cessation and Training (NCSCT) certification. 
• Strong knowledge and practical understanding of stop-smoking medications and their appropriate use. 
• In-depth understanding of behaviour change theories & techniques, along with their application in smoking cessation programmes. 
• Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing pilot programmes or other community-based health interventions.

- We are looking for someone with an understanding of supporting people with additional care requirements and their carers.
- You will need good communication and interpersonal skills and be able to approach sensitive situations with empathy, offering non-judgmental support and guidance.

- Able to use Patient / Customers Databases to manage referrals and record case notes.
-  Confidence to publicly speak and deliver presentations.

Pause works to improve the lives of women who have had – or are at risk of having – more than one child removed from their care, and the services and systems that affect them. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Insights and Evaluation team at Dementia UK in a pivotal role that promotes a culture of learning and evaluation across the charity.

As the Insights and Evaluation Advisor, you will lead and support evaluations that measure and communicate the impact of Admiral Nursing and wider Dementia UK initiatives. You will design and deliver robust evaluations using both quantitative and qualitative methodologies, ensuring high standards of data quality, ethical practice and GDPR compliance.

Working collaboratively with colleagues across the charity, you will provide expert advice on evaluation design, data collection and analysis, to develop datasets that drive evidence-based practice. In addition, you will support Admiral Nurses to build their evaluation skills, enabling them to measure and communicate the difference they make to families affected by dementia. By embedding insight into projects and services, you will help turn data into meaningful action, informing decisions, campaigns and improving outcomes across Dementia UK.

To succeed in this role, you will have a First Degree and demonstratable experience in a relevant discipline e.g. health research and evaluation, health service improvement, public health and social research. You will need strong evaluation, research and project management skills including advanced quantitative and qualitative data analysis.

Additionally, you should be confident working independently and collaboratively, with the ability to influence and advise colleagues at all levels.

About the role

Using your legal expertise, you will play a key role in tackling housing injustice and unfair housing practices. You will be working under our Legal Aid contract, delivering legal advice and representing tenants at court where needed. Delivering systemic change through legal challenge to prevent homelessness will also be a considerable part of the role. You will also work with the team in the Hub to help make sure people in the community are aware of their housing rights and how to enforce them, as well as providing support to Trainee Solicitors and Legal Advisers, ensuring good practice and compliance.

About You

Qualified as a Solicitor,  you will have a strong knowledge of housing law and substantial experience of managing a wide range of housing cases. You have strong skills in court advocacy, litigation, report writing, file reviews and are able to meet financial targets. You will be able to meet the 2018 SQM supervisor standard in housing and be able to demonstrate experience of working under a legal aid contract.

About The Team

Our Legal Service provides specialist legal knowledge across Shelter through four teams covering Community Legal advice, Strategic Litigation, the National Legal Team and Legal Support Team. You will be part of our Community Legal Team, who are based across our 11 hub locations and work alongside hub colleagues every day to fight housing injustice and deliver systemic change relating to housing practice in our local communities.

Shelter North East has been supporting people in the region for over 25 years and provides advice over 12 local authorities. We are made up of an advice team, legal team, administration team as well as support services which include Housing First and DIY skills service. National staff based in the hub include a Community Fundraiser and Community Organiser, Lived Experience Officer and Business Development Manager.

We aim to bring about systemic change through our work with clients, training for our partners and volunteers and using evidence to bring about housing procedural and policy changes for people in the North East.
