Under the leadership of the Chief Operating Officer, the Finance, IT, Governance and Risk, Efficiency and Sustainability, Facilities and Legal teams provide professional business advice and central support to Dogs Trust. The Role

We are seeking a talented and experienced HR Adviser with a strong focus on policy development for a fixed-term period to update and develop B Lab UK’s policies to align with our values and culture, guide our employees and ensure a harmonious and productive work environment. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in creating and updating company policies, complying with relevant regulations, and ensuring the overall success of the organisation. 

What you will be doing

Policy Review and Improvement:

• Conduct a review of existing policies to identify areas for improvement and upcoming legal changes, implementing required changes 

• Review current policies with a JEDI lens (Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion), implementing required changes

Policy Development:

• Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop, and implement HR policies and procedures that align with both the business and cultural needs of B Lab UK

Training and Education:

About you

• Track record of building and maintaining relationships which lead to policy impact, either in Parliament, with Government or soft power institutions.

Supporter Engagement is one of the most important teams that is central to the success of Alzheimer’s Society. The function of the team is to manage multi-channel communication with our supporters, both inbound and outbound. About the role:

This role is a hybrid working role based in the Housing department, Merton Civic Centre.

As an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate you will:

• Implement effective ways of working with victims and those supporting them to increase safety and reduce harm.
• Provide a high-quality, front-line service to victims of domestic abuse, delivering a premium service prioritised according to risk, primarily focusing on victim/survivors aged 16+
• Work within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership responses to domestic abuse to keep safety central to all services for victims of domestic abuse.

You will need:

• Have a knowledge of help-seeking barriers and support needs of victims of domestic abuse (in heterosexual or same-sex relationships).
• Have a good understanding of domestic abuse including the impact of domestic abuse on victims and their children.
• Understand the principles of risk assessment, safety planning and risk management for victims of domestic abuse and their children
• Understand safeguarding issues, and the legal responsibilities surrounding these issues.
• Direct service delivery to victims of domestic abuse or other vulnerable people.
• Have excellent communication, negotiation and advocacy skills, both written and verbal when interacting with a range of agencies and individuals. Understand and be committed to equal opportunities and diversity issues in policy and practice.

Job Purpose: To develop and manage, to a high standard, Age UK Bromley & Greenwich’s Information and Advice Service. Key Responsibilities:

Line management and supervision

• Provide line management and supervision to advisers and support staff.
• Supervising team advice sessions and casework

NEA’s Energy Advisers are empathetic, polite and have good listening skills but are also knowledgeable, assertive, and confident.  Their main role is to provide one to one advice to clients referred through the charity’s Warm and Safe Homes helpline and to deliver energy advice presentations to groups.  They also get involved in a range of tasks to support these activities.  Energy Advisers sit within the Communities Directorate and are part of a dynamic and caring team of professionals who go the extra mile to support their clients, some of whom may be in difficult circumstances.

What you will need to succeed 

Working within our Communities Directorate you will have demonstrable experience of delivering Energy Advice and helping others.  Therefore, it is vital that you have empathy, confidence and knowledge of the issues facing vulnerable low-income households. 

You will have knowledge and understanding of the environmental, social and economic problems of deprived areas and the roles of the public, private and voluntary sectors in tackling them.

You will also have knowledge of assistance available for energy efficiency improvements to low-income households.

You will be an excellent communicator, with proven experience and understanding of how to effectively address the energy needs of low income, vulnerable or disadvantaged householders - with the desire to make a positive difference to people’s lives.

NEA has several office locations throughout England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and welcomes applicants from all regions, however we would particularly welcome applications from those living in Kent and the South-East.  Home working and office-based locations are available. • £26,873 - £31,915 (FTE) - Scale 5-6, Points 12-22 (plus £3,300 London Weighting if applicable)

Toynbee Hall is looking to appoint a Junior Welfare Benefit Adviser who will work as part of a team of specialist advisers with the aim to support the post holder to develop their knowledge and skills in the area of welfare benefits.

The post holder will provide information, advice, and guidance to clients in our Macmillan-funded Welfare Benefits Project, providing a welfare rights advice service to people affected by cancer to maximise their income.
With the support and guidance of the team, and training both internal and external where appropriate, the post holder will undertake casework, assisting clients to access their entitlements to welfare benefits and other sources of financial help.

For more complex cases the Junior adviser will shadow our Specialist’s to increase their
knowledge and understanding.

Citizens Advice Hounslow is a well-established charity operating in the London Borough of Hounslow, supporting over 10,000 clients a year. We want to expand our capacity for face to face and telephone advice; hence we are looking for an experienced generalist Adviser with the ability to provide advice in person as well as on the phone through our dedicated helplines.
