Here at Rainbows Children’s Hospice, we provide specialist palliative care and end-of-life support to over 750 Babies, Children, and Young People living with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, as well as approximately 3,000 people, including families, siblings, and carers, across the East Midlands. Simply put, we’re here to brighten short lives and support families, wherever they are.
We are currently seeking a Volunteer Coordinator to join our dedicated Volunteering Team at Rainbows. Volunteers play a pivotal role in supporting every aspect of our vital work – from fundraising and events, to our retail shops and the hospice itself – with over 350 individuals generously volunteering their time, skills, and passion.
We are looking for a positive and enthusiastic individual who will help ensure volunteers feel welcomed, supported, and confident, enabling them to make a meaningful difference to children, young people and families across our services.
Location: Primarily an office-based role, at our hospice in Loughborough.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9 am – 5 pm. Some flexibility is required, as occasional evening and weekend working and regional travel will be part of supporting volunteers.
About the role
As a Volunteer Coordinator, you will play a key role in shaping how people volunteer with Rainbows. You’ll lead on volunteer recruitment across the East Midlands, building relationships with communities and organisations, and supporting individuals to find opportunities that match their motivations, skills and strengths. Once volunteers are involved, you’ll help ensure they feel confident, informed and well supported, working closely with colleagues to create positive volunteering experiences.
Key Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
· Recruitment, Selection, and Induction: Be the first point of contact for volunteering enquiries and applications, ensuring a seamless onboarding process.
· Volunteer Support and Supervision: Act as the central point of contact for volunteers at Rainbows, offering guidance and support throughout their volunteering journey.
· Team Collaboration: Provide staff with proactive support and best practices for volunteer management, engagement, and stewardship.
· Operational Duties: Maintain accurate volunteer records, ensuring GDPR compliance, and provide KPI data as needed.

The Sadie Centre at Herts Mind Network delivers a diverse and well-established programme of wellbeing classes for the local community. Based in Letchworth Garden City, the Centre offers a wide range of accessible sessions for differing abilities; including Yoga, Pilates and other mindful movement classes, delivered throughout the day and evening across the year. These classes support students from across North Hertfordshire and surrounding areas to build physical strength, reduce stress and enhance their overall mental & physical wellbeing.

About the role
The Classes and Events Co-ordinator will be responsible for the effective operational management, development and promotion of the Centre’s classes, courses and related events.
This role offers the successful candidate the opportunity not only to ensure the smooth day-to-day delivery of an already thriving programme, but also to help shape its future development. The postholder will play a key role in supporting service growth, broadening participation, diversifying the range of classes on offer and strengthening the Centre’s reach within the community.
The position requires a unique combination of organisational excellence, creativity and enterprise. The ideal candidate will be efficient and detail-focused, with strong interpersonal and communication skills, alongside the ability to develop engaging written content for promotion and engagement. A genuine interest in complementary and holistic approaches to health, coupled with the confidence to contribute to programme development and growth, will be essential. This is a demanding yet deeply rewarding role for someone motivated by improving community wellbeing, and working within a values-driven environment.
The successful candidate will be as comfortable with customer service and Front-of-House support as they are with administration, programme coordination, Systems Management, line management and team recruitment. They will have an understanding of mental health and wellbeing, and the role of community-based support services in the charity sector, demonstrable understanding of all relevant legislation for data protection and safeguarding and excellent organisational and workload management skills.

Job Summary
The post holder provides support to the Head of Chancery, ensuring the delivery of high-quality ceremonial events that reflects the values, traditions and customs of the Order of St John. The role contributes and support the charity’s strategy as an enabling function in line with our ‘Thriving People’ aim, through the delivery of events which celebrate our people and their achievements and help to foster a sense of belonging.
This role supports the planning, management and delivery of a range of events from our annual St John’s Day celebrations, Investitures, other services held in the Priory Church and our involvement in national ceremonial occasions (such as Remembrance).
This role demands a strong attention to detail, ability to manage and prioritise complex workloads and excellent communication skills. You will have experience in event planning and delivery, preferably with a background in managing ceremonial events, and a proven ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
About You
You will be educated to Educated to GCSE level or equivalent (Grade C) including Maths & English, you will have experience of planning and delivering highly complicated ceremonial events, experience of planning and delivering highly complicated ceremonial events in the context of an Order of Chivalry and excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to influence effectively at all levels.
