Your role is all about supporting, developing, and implementing effective volunteer practices throughout the Association. You'll offer expert guidance and support to staff across the organisation, ensuring our volunteers are led and managed to the highest standards. You will work in partnership with staff and volunteers to develop plans to recruit new volunteers and ensure our existing volunteers can make a meaningful impact for people living with and affected by MND.

Innovation and improvement are key aspects of this role. Engaging with volunteers, staff, and stakeholders, you'll identify areas of improvement, develop tools and approaches that enhance the experience for volunteers and the staff who lead them.

The role

The Head of Practice leads on best practice and practice development across Business Disability Forum. They will also lead the delivery of the BDF internal upskilling programme to ensure that all Member and Partner facing teams are at the forefront of best practice in delivering high quality advice and support.

They will also work closely with the Content Team to ensure that BDF’s resources reflect the latest best practice and with the Policy Team to ensure BDF’s advice and resources reflect the latest policy and research thinking and to maintain our position as thought leaders.

• Experience of leading and managing experts on diversity and inclusion related situations and of motivating.
• A demonstrable track record of relationship building at a senior level leading to tangible results.
• Experience of providing consultancy, training and advice on disability related issues.

A fantastic and fast-growing charity focused on providing support and advice for carers of children is seeking a Payroll Manager on a part-time (3 days per week) permanent basis.

With headquarters in London, the role is offered on a hybrid basis – with 1 day per week required onsite. The charity has a turnover of around £7 million, with approximately 80 staff. Their focus is specifically to provide support for kinship carers of children – grandparents, siblings and other family members who support children when parents are unable to provide care.

The Payroll Manager role will make up part of a new finance team structure. The role reports to the Head of Finance, and other team members include a Senior Finance Officer and Finance Director. The role is paying £42,000 (FTE / pr-rata) inclusive of London weighting. Please note a fully-remote option is available, however in this instance London weighting would not apply, so the FTE/prorate salary would be £38,774 per annum.

The role will cover responsibility for all payroll operations, ensuring that all payments are accurate and on time and that appropriate and accurate information is provided to the Head of Finance, HMRC, pension providers and other external bodies. The payroll is run by an external bureau. You will also be required to support the Head of Finance with across a wide range of financial accounting duties.

The charity has recently implemented a new finance system (Business Central) and has secured some new grants and contracts, so there may be the chance to grow and progress as the charity continues on this path.

Typical duties will include:

-Ensure the timely processing of monthly payroll, including absence and statutory leave as well as various categories of staff payments and deductions; maintaining a separation of duties with relevant HR colleagues

-Check all payroll and pension deductions each month and resolve queries with the payroll bureau as necessary; ensuring that an appropriate and up to date audit trail is maintained which include FINAL reports.

-Ensure timely payments are issued to HMRC, pension providers and in respect of other payroll deductions to enable Kinship to comply with its statutory obligations

-To be proactive in the identification and resolution of any pay anomalies, errors, issues; ensuring that payroll reports are reconciled monthly and agree with control account values

-To contribute to knowledge management and building expertise within the Finance/People teams with regard to payroll; identify process improvements to eliminate exceptions, errors and omissions of data.

-To ensure that all payroll outputs are appropriately authorised and signed-off, in accordance with London Youth’s payroll procedures, and filed on shared drives; that records are robust and audit-ready.

-To provide a range of management information as required, including salary allocations across a wide range of projects and activities.  Working closely with the Head of Finance and respond to queries from internal and external sources.

-Ensure that appropriate online filing systems are maintained and kept up to date so that they can be used to provide information, resolve queries and provide a necessary audit trail

-All relevant monthly payroll processes and statutory and other deductions

-Supporting the Head of Finance with the completion of year-end accounts, reconciling control accounts and management/statutory accounts

Candidate requirements:

-Demonstrable prior experience in a Payroll Manager role and/or a recognised Payroll or Finance qualification

-Significant experience in managing payroll – either internally or via an external bureau

-An understanding of GDPR and legislative & contractual elements of payroll

Black Rootz is a multigenerational growing project providing opportunities for Black and racially minoritised people to grow food for themselves, their families and their communities. Black Rootz was established in 2019 by a collective of Black growers in Haringey who recognised the need to organise to challenge the deep inequalities in the growing and food systems. Over the past 5 years, Black Rootz has developed a holistic practice for Black and racially minoritised communities incorporating intergenerational knowledge transfer, increased access to land and food sovereignty, regenerative environmental practices and reduced food inequality.

Black Rootz has been incubated as a project within The Ubele Initiative since 2019. As an established name in the growing community, it is now building towards an independent future.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Project Manager is a new role that will provide hands on management capacity to Black Rootz. The role will bring experience and energy to support the delivery and continued development of the project’s core activities; the Community Growing Programme and a new workshop series. The Project Manager will take on a management position and, with support from Ubele, help the project to navigate decisions that will enable Black Rootz to achieve its overall social, environmental, and operational ambitions. 

The successful candidate will be central in Black Rootz’ journey towards a more independent and sustainable future. What you will be doing

• Project delivery: Getting involved in project delivery, such as foundational research for project development and delivering workshops.
• Project management: Overseeing the effective delivery of projects, including reporting, and supporting the planning and set up of new projects as they come online.
• Innovation and Development: Supporting us to improve and expand our projects and programmes. You will also assist in identifying new projects or funding opportunities and contribute to the preparation of funding proposals. This may involve exploring options for the governance structure of this area of work.
• Marketing and communications: Promoting our projects, developing our external communications and acting as an ambassador for our community work.
• Monitoring and evaluation: We are on a journey to better capture the impact of specific projects, and the impact that our community work has collectively. You will take an active role in supporting this element of our work.
• Partnership working: Collaboration is key to our approach. You will liaise with existing clients and partners for project delivery, develop new partnerships to further our aims and also take part in key networking and external events.
• Team development: You will work closely with the Community Impact Lead to contribute to the development of the team, during our team meetings and away days. You will be comfortable managing staff, teams and subcontractors to deliver desired outcomes.
• Day-to-day operations: Working closely with the Community Impact Lead, HR and Finance, to support our remote project teams, problem solve issues as they arise, develop our internal systems and processes, maximise efficiencies and drive improvements.

As the Digital Donor Acquisition Manager, your primary responsibility will be to strategise, develop, and oversee digital campaigns aimed at acquiring new donors and maximising our digital fundraising efforts. Your expertise in digital campaign development, especially in paid ads, combined with your exceptional digital copywriting skills, will be crucial in driving donor engagement and supporting our strategic priorities and goals. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, communications, and fundraising, to create and execute campaigns that resonate with our supporters, acquire new donors and increase donations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Developing and executing digital campaign strategies, including; overseeing thorough market research and donor analysis to identify target audiences and create data-driven campaigns, as well as leading the copywriting and initial design concepts

• Supporting organisation fundraising campaigns through oversight and support to the matrix team, optimising paid advertising campaigns across various platforms, to attract new donors and supporters . These include - Google Ads, Facebook/social Ads, and other relevant channels

• Increasing our digital copywriting quality

• Developing and monitoring appropriate analytics to generate comprehensive reports on key performance indicators, providing actionable insights for live and future campaigns

• Managing campaign budgets, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources to achieve fundraising targets

To be successful you will need to:

• Be educated to degree level or hold a professional qualification
• Be able to demonstrate a comprehensive strength in the development and management of digital marketing and donor aquisition campaigns
• Be familiar with SEO marketing and CRM systems and related analytics

Terms and Conditions

• Location: This role is base at the MAF UK Offices in Folkestone, Kent.  We welcome hybrid working in line with our flexible working policy, the needs of the business, the requirements of the role and your location. This will be discussed at interview.
• Working Hours: At least 36 hours per week, with 1 hour for lunch daily unpaid. Hours should be agreed with line manager.
• Annual Leave: Annual leave entitlement of 22 days per year and 8 paid public holidays per year.
• Pension Scheme: Non-contributory (10% of salary).
• Probation: 6 months
• Notice Period: 3 months each.
• Salary: £40,000 per annum

Haven House Children’s Hospice cares for children and young people who have life-limiting or life-threatening conditions across North and East London, West Essex and East Herts. Our mission is to provide the highest quality palliative and holistic care services to children and their families in our local communities.

Since the hospice opened its doors in 2003, it has gone from strength to strength both in terms of the care we provide to children and their families as well as the close bonds we have developed and nurtured with individuals and organisations who are inspired by our work.

This is a great time to join the team at Haven House as our Trusts and Grants Manager. We have recently restructured the Income Generation and Marketing team and this role sits within the High Value team, working alongside Corporate fundraising, Philanthropy and Special Events, and reporting into the Assistant Director of IGM/ Head of High Value Partnerships. The team are currently developing a new high value strategy, to underpin the organisation wide strategy and the overall IGM strategy.

At Haven House the focus within the Income Generation and Marketing Team is to put the supporter and donor at the centre of everything we do, ensuring they feel inspired by our work and the children and families we support; engaged and committed to our cause and ultimately make a commitment to do something amazing.

We’re looking for an individual who is has the experience and skills to manage and nurture relationships with our existing donors and funders from charitable trusts, foundations and grant-making bodies as well develop long lasting commitments through new donor partnerships.
